i read other reviews that their horchata latte was highly recommended. it did not disappoint! the menu doesn't have prices listed but as of 3/2026, the coffee was $6.50 and the muenster breakfast sandwich is $8.23. the cafe doesn't have indoor seating. their outdoor patio has ample seating with plenty of shade, but come early! when i arrived at 10am, all the shaded seats were occupied. it is a great place to catch up with friends. studying here may be harder given that the seating is outdoors with no outlets, at least not that i saw. there is 2-hour unmetered street parking in front the cafe. read more

Underwhelmed. Had the signature breakfast sandwich and really "where's the beef" small barely anything there served with nothing else. Plates need to look and be attractive. Forgive me and this may have been one of but the servers have to look presentable. It flows thru the food and service you give. Such a lovely space and sometimes the staff is nice and welcoming, sometimes the other ones aren't as engaging- but I think that's a generational difference.. coffee is not crazy pricey but it's not cheap either. A unique cute place which requires street parking. Staff are friendly and easy to make conversation. The menu is simple which is great if you suffer from choice-paralysis. They do have a secret menu for drinks if any of those call out to you. The seating area is wonderful under nice SoCal weather. Lots of tables and good atmosphere for studying or chatting with friends while the fountain runs in the background. Food and drink arrived at a good pace. The grilled cheesus sandwich is delicious! It's hard to find places with grilled cheese as a main dish on their menu that isn't a sad version of a burger or on a kid's menu. This one was worth it. They even offer a side to accompany it. I got the pickles option. I ordered the horchatta latte from the secret menu and it was good! Only a tiny bit on the sweet side, but I normally order 50-75% sweet on drinks. In the meantime, you can browse the curated selection of hand-made gifts made by local artists and artisans. Of course, they have their own Holy Grounds coffee and branded merch, too. If you have the time, I would encourage you to enjoy the patio - now that it's re-open! This coffee shop was recommended to me by a coworker and wow am I grateful. I was welcomed with friendly faces and an overall calm from the entrance before I ordered an horchata latte with oat milk and a coffee cake. The latte was just the right amount of sweetness and didn't have any bitterness that espresso can tend to have at other places. The coffee cake was able to be warmed and was comforting on a chilly day like today. I went outside to sit in the little patio and immediately thought it was so cute. $17 for two Café de Olla and two coffee cakes -- not worth it. The coffee wasn't hot and tasted bitter. It's clearly not made fresh, just sitting in insulated dispensing carafes for who knows how long. Asked for half-and-half, barista barely added any, that's not what made it cold. The coffee cakes were just as bad. They were supposed to be heated, came out barely warm, slightly warm on the outside, cold on the inside like they had just come out of the fridge. On top of that, they were dry and looked like they'd been sitting there for a while. After "heating" them, the barista asked if we wanted plates... we were sitting in the patio, how else were we supposed to eat them? The grilled cheese has tomatoes, but otherwise was delicious! It had a lot of nice, Smokey flavor and was definitely filling enough as a meal on its own. I'm so excited to have stumbled upon Holy Grounds while looking for a cafe on Google Maps! Holy Grounds is definitely a hidden gem on an otherwise lengthy street. If you enjoy cars zooming by for white noise, then this spot is perfect for you! What makes it amazing is that parking is plentiful, and there is a two hour limit - perfect for a quick work / study break. I ordered their iced latte, and by the first sip I knew this would be a good day. Unlike other espressos that I've tried ,the ones served at Holy Grounds are lighter, and the milk gives it a perfect creamy texture. If you're into beans that are not too strong but still pack a hint, I highly recommend their iced latte. There are also a variety of snacks and food available for purchase, and most of the space showcases artwork and merchandise from small businesses. Although it's a bit out of the way to drive to, I can see myself coming back whenever I'm in the area just for the ambiance... though beware that there isn't too much indoor seating - two spots at a bar is all that I saw. read more

I met a friend here for coffee and it was kind of a bummer because the rain made them close the patio. So I asked them for an exception and they were so kind and obliged. The oat milk latte was spot on, I didn't had any sugar and it had a nice foam. And then, from what I understand is a coffee cake comes from homeboy bakery, which is down the road. if you haven't heard of homeboy. Well I think it's an excellent program and a great opportunity. They heated up the coffee cake and it was absolutely delicious with the oat milk latte. I think the last time I was in the area was four years ago so it's been that long since I've met up with my buddy. So along with that atmosphere a really nice coffee, fantastic, coffee cake, and great conversation I really enjoyed myself. Now when it comes to parking, make sure you don't park at the liquor store next-door. My buddy made sure that I knew to find parking on the street which wasn't so bad on a rainy day. But I can imagine it could be challenging. The staff was super busy and it took a while for the coffee to come out. But it was definitely worth the wait. From what I understand. Holy coffee and tea gets much more busier than it was today. So I can't imagine how long the wait could've been . Like 30 minutes or more? So if you wanna run in and run out real quick to get a cuppa coffee, this is not a good idea for this place. I went in yesterday (Friday) around 4:30pm. It was empty - no people, no music and 4 people working and on their phones. They saw me enter but none of them greeted me even after seeing me. I had to greet them first to get my order in. I asked one employee what was in the ojo rojo drink which he stayed quiet and looked at another employee who looked at another employee. One finally answered while still playing on his phone. While waiting for the drink, the employees were having personal conversations very loudly. We've been here a few times and typically it is very good. The wait time for your food can be quite long and they don't call names so sometimes people just take sandwiches even if theirs is not "up" yet. But the coffee and baked goods are great. I will say this last time I was really disappointed in my muenster breakfast sandwich. The ciabatta was not toasted, the bacon was really undercooked, and there was some unwelcome addition in the eggs- I'm not sure what. Might have been sausage (which the sandwich doesn't come with and I I didn't ask for additionally) bc it was a greyish color. But it wasn't very good and I didn't bother eating more than a few bites. Came here on a breakfast date with hubby on a Saturday morning around 8:30. Plenty of street parking on this busy street. The waitress and barista were absolutely great about answering questions and even gave us a small sample of one of the coffees! Super nice! Ordered the Muenster Breakfast Sandwich and the Mexican Mocha. The sandwich had egg, bacon, tomato and greens on a toasted chiabatta bread with aoli sauce. It was perfect!!!! Mexican Mocha was solid.
