We booked a Quicksilver Whaling tour for $49.00 a person using the Get your Guide App. Checked in on the day of. The quicksilver employee that was taking roll call was very friendly. After checking in with him, he guided us to go to for gate boarding. Walked to the gate and was greeted by another quicksilver employee for boarding. In the process of boarding we took a group picture. Entered the boat and took our seats in front of the boat. Not to long, we were on our way out to sea. It was always my bucket list to see whales. It did not dissapoint, I was seeing whales left, right and back. Our captain was friendly and gave facts about the whales. He did not make the 2hr tour boring. Aside from whale watching, the employees were asking us if we wanted drinks. So we ordered a few adult beverages to keep us warm and enthusiastic on seeing whales. Overall, the best $49 spent. Whales are beautiful creatures. This was an eye opener for me. Educational experience. I would definitely do this again if given an opportunity. Keep in mind, when you take a whale tour you may not be as close to the whales. Some were .2 to .5 miles away. The whales drift and fast to move. Dont expect a free willy experience. We went on a whale watching trip in Maui and had a great time. The captain was very accommodating by turning the boat so everyone could view the whales. We seen several, only a baby breached the surface, but the water is so clear you can see the bigger ones below the surface as we went by. read more

Overall experience sewage smell coming from the bathroom, crew was a bit rude and one of the worst experiences on July 4th A 2 hour trip turned into a 3 hour trip since no one knew the fireworks were shown at 9 instead of 8, lack of communication. It was a beautiful night. It was a bit of wind. The trip to the spot where we were to view the fireworks was okay. But once we stopped the boat rocked hard in the captain continued to gun. The engines causing it to rock, even that much more. Which of course, began to make people sick. Certainly sick from the rocking. However, every time the Capt. gunned, the engines, there was a heavy gasoline smell from the engine that really was sickening. So people began to goat to the bottom deck to lessen the rocking, but the smell of the engines got stronger, and the sewage smell from the bathroom was so heavy and disgusting. People began tooth, throw up over the side of the boat. Everywhere there were people telling the crew members to turn around, and they would say, can't. And just walk away, rolling their eyes. My daughter-in-law and my family were sitting on the bottom deck, when people began throwing up from the top deck, it hit my daughter-in-law, causing her to begin to throw up as well. If you can only imagine people throwing up from the top deck people throwing up from the bottom deck, the heavy sewage smell from the bathroom, along with the gasoline smell from the engine. Every time the captain would gun the engine. It just was a horrible, horrible experience for the family and children. The next day I continue to contact my concierge from my hotel to let them know. I really demand a refund from a horrible experience for the 4th of July. And i've yet to hear back! read more

Excellent service! All the crew were helpful and knowledgeable! They made sure we were able to see many whales and their babies! The crew explained exactly what the whales were doing and told us all about the life of a new born whale baby! Excellent sunset cruise, saw whales , had excellent prime rib, drinks and a great crew!

Wouldn't recommend. We just got to see whale fins/ tail and spouts from a great distance. The captain made sure to repeat over and over again that we got to see many whales and also a breach at some distance (which only he saw!!) Besides, the outside seats in this boat are all dirty and torn. Their photographer on boat would take the best (corner) spot whenever there was a spout or fin visible! I would recommend talking a raft than this big catarman if you really want to see whales up close. Overall a frustrating experience! read more

Very very disappointed with this whale watching experience. Many whales were out and about. Was really looking forward to it. During pre sail briefing, captain said they would turn boat as needed to provide views to all. Boat was nearly full so people sitting everywhere, front, back, top, bottom. Lots of whale activity.... IF you were in front (12 oclcock) or right (1 oclcok). 95% of this activity was kept in these areas. Boat would turn so they were in these areas. People in the back could not see any of it. We were not the only ones frustrated, especially after being briefed that they would provide viewing for everyone. Lastly, if you were handicapped... the check in area is easily a 1/4 mile or more walk around the marina to the boat. They said "it's a short walk." No transportation for those who needed it to the boat, or any mention of this when you buy your tickets. Luckily it didn't affect us, but one poor lady with a walker...it did. Long story short... once they get your money, they really don't care a out everyone's experience. There are better whale watching companies out there. Use them read more

I was quite exciting for this snorkeling excursion. However unfortunately it turned out that it really wasn't worth the money we spent. The boat was nice enough, they provided some light bites for breakfast and plenty of sandwiches for lunch, and the crew and onboard photographer were super friendly. The bad part was the actual snorkeling itself. They took us to a cove at lanai, which was about a 2 hour "drive". The cove itself just really wasn't interesting. The water was very murky, the coral not colorful and there really just weren't that many fish. We did end up seeing some bottle nose dolphins on the way back, and the captain made it a point to follow them around for a bit. During the rest of my vacation we ended up visiting various beaches around the island and had much better snorkeling experiences that cost zero to nothing. read more

Booked a whale watching trip thru viatour. While a bit chaotic for the check in next to Boss Frogs, the trip itself was very nice. A smooth ride out and the captain was full of knowledge about the whales. Whale numbers are diminishing as they are starting their migration back north (end of February). We got close to at least 4 sets of whales. Saw a baby breaching and it got really close to the boat at one point, so got great views. Surface activity was very low, so no wow pictures. Crew was nice and friendly. My elderly mother with mobility issues was able to navigate getting on and off. Crew was great with that. Many options to choose from, but these guys did a good job and happy to have gone out with them. read more

What an amazing way to celebrate my 50th birthday on the sunset dinner cruise! We had an awesome staff! Very organized! Amazing food! Great cruise around the harbor! Our waiter was Jameson and not only was he attentive but had the best attitude and smile! For food, the first course was a spinach salad with a vinaigrette dressing and Taro rolls (soooo good) with honey butter. Second course, my mom and son ordered the prime rib (huge portion) , rice and veggies. I ordered the Mahi Mahi with rice and veggies, and my daughter ordered the penne pasta with veggies! The beverages were so good as well. Kids ordered Shirley Temples, while my mom and I ordered the guava margaritas and mai tais. I recommend this to everyone! 10/10 read more

Captain Heather and her crew are amazing (shout out Jamenson). They are kind, patient, encouraging, knowledgeable and all about keeping you and your family and the reef safe! I mean they are dope! They are funny We had such a great time and they were so encouraging and fun. My party of 5 included 3 kids All of us are non-swimmers! We all snorkeled My husband only did it for a short time but my 4yr old and my 6yr old loved being in the water My 12yo and I snorkeled and saw a turtle and a sting ray They have everything you need but you could bring your own snorkel gear as well. This was a rather disappointing whale watch. There were plenty of whales to be seen but our captain seemed to like to stay away from the action. I get we are supposed to keep a certain distance but we don't need to be 3 zip codes away. We watched other tour boats get great views of the whales while we were off in the distance. Our captain then decided he needed to chase down this particular whale he was sure was in a certain area but it wasn't there. Not sure what that was about when we could've been watching other whales that had made themselves known. Since this whale was nowhere to be seen they dropped the mic so we could listen to the whale song. Listening to whale song was interesting but it shouldn't be done longer than a minute. After 10 minutes it was a little grinding on the ears. I've been on whale watches before and this one wasn't the best and it wasn't because there weren't any whales out there to see. The captain just seemed to want to be as far away as possible for some reason. He gave interesting details about whales but we would've liked to have actually been looking at them. The servers were the only thing about this that was good. I don't think I'd go with this outfit again. read more

it was a fun and comfortable ride, but the boat announcer was difficult to understand. Not articulate enough to understand. Also felt extremely unsafe getting on and off the boat. There is a huge gap, about 3 feet wide that you had to step over from the boat to land. If you missed the step, you landed in the water between the boat and the dock! Very scary! read more

While the crew was professional and the service was decent, the overall experience was a disappointment. We did see a few whales, but they were too far to truly appreciate. The captain's narration was dull and uninspired, lacking any enthusiasm or humor. The biggest letdown was their dishonesty. They played pre-recorded whale sounds as if they were live, misleading everyone on board. It's completely fine if they say it's a recording. Even worse, they sell pics of the whales taken during the tour that we discovered had altered metadata--old images edited to appear recent. Instead of remembering the whales, we left thinking about their false advertising and deception. read more

We were about to book a tour from our hotel which was nearly double the price! We went on a 8am whale watching tour. They say, it is good to go for Whale watching early in the morning to increase the chances of seeing more whales. Captains shared a lots of good information about Whales. Answered all our curiosity driven questions. We were about to see a dozen whales - got lucky. Quicksilver is a good tour operator! read more

I think the lunch provided could have been a little better (just hotdogs and chips), the bar would have been open right after the last snorkel, and the spots chosen were close to shore and could be accessed without a boat. What a great crew and service! Driver of the boat was great at telling us all about whales, other crew drink service, camera man Joe so sweet! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the directions on where to meet were not clear. They said meet for orientation at Boss Frogs and no one was there. Then they said to walk all the way around to where the boat is docked but that's quite a hike fir my sister who has difficulty walking that far. So I recommend telling people to just meet up by the boat. But we dud see whales and I loved it! read more
