The details: Our tour started by meeting at tree at the Sheraton, which sounds awkward but for us was super convenient and it was fun boarding the sailboat from the beach but you will get a little wet! Captain Michael walks you though the day and then you are off for about ~90 minutes to Lanai. During that time you are served (not a buffet) two meals. The cinnamon rolls were great and the breakfast croissants are now something I make at home. There was also a photographer on board so we took advantage and took some family photos (you buy at the end and I found them a whole lot cheaper and less stress than an actual family shoot). Once you get to the Island you can take a golf cart or take a short walk to the beach where they have all the gear you need. After the safety briefing you have about 2 hours to snorkel with the crew serving as lifeguards in the water. It is VERY easy to lose where you are when you've got your head underwater. I appreciated how attentive the crew was to where the four of us were at since there were a few times we needed some gentle guidance out of a harms way (shoreline rocks). The photographer also captures your snorkel sesh. After snorkeling, you're treated to another full meal of noodles and chicken. Followed by anything you might need for a little seasickness to prep for the journey back . My 12 yo son was pretty full at this point and had befriended the captain who let him help get the boat ready for the return trip. That was very cool! The ride home was a bit bumpy (Hurricane Lowell was coming) but Captain Michael did a great job avoiding anything major and even found a pod of dolphins. We also enjoyed the mai tais! Great experience! We will book more tours in the future. I would have booked another snorkeling or sunset tour during this trip but the water quality really deteriorated with the upcoming storm.

Their location at Kihei Boat Ramp in South Maui means that you have an extra hour in the water so you can make one more stop compared to the other snorkeling charters who leave from further away and you spend most of the time going and coming vs in the water. 2. Their guides are so good, respectful, fun and full of knowledge about the underwater things you'll be seeing. 3. Their raft holds 12 people (I think) so it's much more intimate. This was worth every penny. You'll never forget when you first drop into the warm Maui waters and the incredible underwater sights you'll see. Make sure to book well in advance.

Most of the seats are shaded, which was a huge plus for staying comfortable in the sun while we scanned the horizon. The Crew A massive shout-out to our captain and naturalist Levi & Travis! Purchased the pictures and videos taken while on the trip for $160. I accidentally left my sunglasses in the room and the Captain graciously let me borrow an extra pair he had. Not something he had to do. Everything from the breakfast pasties to lunch, and any questions about the snorkel adventure was perfection. This trip included me (mom), husband, 2 kids ages 14 & 7. Everyone felt completely comfortable in the water and on the boat.

They always had Eddie keeping an eye on everyone in the water and helping people that dropped things that sank to the bottom. Eddie made sure you didn't get too far away. I appreciated the free mineral based coral safe sunblock. The hour at the crater and turtle town went by so quickly. Definitely try to be the first one off the boat if you can to maximize your time. They provide wetsuits for rentals if you need it. They also have a lady that is an underwater photographer and she did a nice job of trying to get photos of everyone which I think is the most difficult job on the ship. I liked her photos but thought $45 for a single photo was a bit too steep. I appreciate the fruits and pastures from Whole Foods and the coffee and also the sandwiches and potato salad and juice for lunch. They were delicious. There is something about snorkeling that makes you hungrier than normal. I always felt safe on the boat. A couple of things to point out, the boat gets pretty full so if you want to a covered seat get there early and if you want to sit in the very front you will get wet from the waves coming through the netting. Also the parking there was much more than I thought and read. It was $18ish dollars for 5.5 hrs I was parked there. The parking on the parking only goes up to 3 hours so don't risk getting a ticket even that parking is like $1/hr. The only other thing g which is totally out of the control of Malolo is the amount of tour companies to contend with when you get to the crater. It felt too crowded and too many people there. At Turtle Town there were hardly any turtles on the day we went unfortunately. I had seen more turtles on our own at other beaches than at turtle town, but I did see a couple of turtles. In general, people aren't aware of snorkeling etiquette and oblivious to their surroundings. I had snorkelers cut me off, crash into me, and taking their sweet time getting on and off the boat with the single stairs. Overall a good trip if you want to get out to the crater, but as for turtles, go to a beach on west Maui and you won't really have any issues.

They were more concerned about my overall experience, not shaming me for my fear but rather making sure I enjoyed myself by being as accommodating as possible. And it wasn't just one person, it was all of them. Making this an extremely special and cathartic experience. 2. The food. Ok, I mean the eggs, muffins and croissants were awesome but can we talk about the tacos!!! Bro! The pork tacos were incredible. The mahi mahi tacos were also very good. The pineapple salsa was a must have! And this was all before I had 2 mai Tais... so this isn't my taste buds under the influence. 3. The charter itself was wonderful. The boat was comfortable, there was plenty of space. We went to 2 different spots and were given plenty of time to explore. The music was on point, a little Fleetwood Mac, Green Day, etc. it was eclectic alt chill. Legit they could make their own Spotify playlist, 4. It's not the cheapest, or the most expensive. But I don't know how it gets better than this and I think it was 100% worth the money. So a huge thank you to the crew of Maui magic. Maybe saying it was a magical experience seems kind of cheesy but go head and call me a big ole cheese ball, because I'm here for it!
