Just one of the many turtles we saw.
Mary R.

We had an amazing time during our 4.5 hour snorkeling adventure. The captain even found a huge pod of dolphins and took us to them. We saw a lot of turtles. All the crew was helpful and professional.

We went on a whale watching trip in Maui and had a great time. The captain was very accommodating by turning the boat so everyone could view the whales. We seen several, only a baby breached the surface, but the water is so clear you can see the bigger ones below the surface as we went by.

We had a small group for the 8am Whale watching tour, Mid April. The captain was able to find a few whales still in the area. It was great! I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Hi buddy

Saw incredible display of whales! Best tour hands down-- whales everywhere and a nice catamaran with shade and plenty of seating

The crew was helpful and attentive. We went out 3 times, February 15, 17 and 19 and saw many whales each time!!

Great experience. Boat, captain and crew all outstanding. Although not necessarily great in number, the proximity and activity of those we saw was outstanding. The captain was extremely wise in following a trio (mom, baby and escort) and prescient in predicting the amount of whale activity we'd witness close up. Very satisfied with the overall experience and this was 4th such endeavor. All my 15+ first-timers in my party agreed.

I caught this as the whale was coming back down into the water! Absolutely amazing!

What is the boat's max capacity for the dolphin snorkeling tour? I'm wondering how crowded it will be. Also, is it more crowded on the weekends or weekdays?

110. We are certified for 149. It's hard to say. I'd say Friday or Saturday, but it could fill up.

Are toddlers (2 years old) and pregnant women allowed on the Dolphin Watch & Snorkeling Tour?

Yes! Nothing but aloha for families!

A snorkeling trip to Molokini Atoll with a side trip to swim with the green sea turtles right off…read morethe beach from the homes of Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and a house once owned by David Bowie, was a must for our family Christmas Vacation on Maui. We selected this company due to their excellent reviews, and we're sure glad we did! Captain Ryan and deckhands Jade and Chloe were friendly, funny, knowledgeable and accommodating. And even though the tour was for snorkeling only, Ryan decided to throw in some dolphins and whale watching we hadn't expected! Lunch and snacks were very good, too. The 60' Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) was maneuverable, comfortable, and with FOUR 350 HP Yamaha outboards (that's 1,400 HP), VERY fast! Just an outstanding day for the whole family. It was a really cool and memorable experience. I highly recommend Maui Reef Adventure.

THE BEST THING WE DID ON MAUI!!!…read more We did the Ma'alaea Sunset Cruise with Captain Zach, Catherine, and Becca. The crew was so kind and so attentive. And the food was GREAT! We did the appetizer cruise and it was definitely enough food to be full. The drinks were great and the crew made sure our cups were never empty. The sunset was absolutely beautiful. We would absolutely do it again. They even have a photographer, so we ended up buying a picture from them (although $40 seems a little overpriced for one photo). Captain Riley explained much of what the islands in the past (before Captain Cook) and to today. The boat (Trilogy VI) was brand new and beautiful. It almost never stopped with breakfast, a big and delicious lunch. Got back on the boat and saw dolphins, flying fish, and other tropical sea life. The crew were amazing from start to finish. Friendly, helpful, and great crew members. The photographer was friendly and knowledgeable about the best shots. They provide the photos electronically via a very reasonable $85 (nice as a keep sake of the photos of the two of us that the photographer placed us in.) Cannot recommend Trilogy enough. They've been around since 1973 and really have it figured out. Our 18 year old son loved it too. It's great for any age.

We could not have been more lucky. I called to make sure there was vegan options for food and also the person that I spoke with made it easy to purchase 4 tickets for my father and stepmother as well as for my friend and I. We arrived early and found parking. There is also easy parking on the pier for a dollar an hour. I booked these tickets about a month in advance. Why I say we were very fortunate is because the weather although cloudy on the way to Molokai cleared up twice while we were in the water. The breakfast was fresh there was croissants small corn muffins and fresh fruit as well as deviled eggs. My parents enjoyed the devil eggs tremendously. The croissants were very fresh tasting. There were plenty of fish to snorkel and see. The crew was spectacular the captain pointed out different formations and shared interesting history 2 and from the island. What made the trip spectacular was the incredible amount of whales we saw. At 1 point the captain cut the engine because whales played around our boat going underneath several times. It was a trip of a lifetime.

I am writing this review while on the boat because instead of going to the crater, they took us to a spot easily accessible from the road with little fish/diversity. Snorkeling off the beach from our hotel has much more fish and diversity than the spot they took us to. Waste of money and more importantly precious vacation time as you might be stuck at an awful spot for 5 hours. The day is not particularly windy either so I suspect it was due to the amount of children on the boat is why they neglected to deliver on going to the crater and instead went somewhere utterly useless.

They always had Eddie keeping an eye on everyone in the water and helping people that dropped things that sank to the bottom. Eddie made sure you didn't get too far away. I appreciated the free mineral based coral safe sunblock. The hour at the crater and turtle town went by so quickly. Definitely try to be the first one off the boat if you can to maximize your time. They provide wetsuits for rentals if you need it. They also have a lady that is an underwater photographer and she did a nice job of trying to get photos of everyone which I think is the most difficult job on the ship. I liked her photos but thought $45 for a single photo was a bit too steep. I appreciate the fruits and pastures from Whole Foods and the coffee and also the sandwiches and potato salad and juice for lunch. They were delicious. There is something about snorkeling that makes you hungrier than normal. I always felt safe on the boat. A couple of things to point out, the boat gets pretty full so if you want to a covered seat get there early and if you want to sit in the very front you will get wet from the waves coming through the netting. Also the parking there was much more than I thought and read. It was $18ish dollars for 5.5 hrs I was parked there. The parking on the parking only goes up to 3 hours so don't risk getting a ticket even that parking is like $1/hr. The only other thing g which is totally out of the control of Malolo is the amount of tour companies to contend with when you get to the crater. It felt too crowded and too many people there. At Turtle Town there were hardly any turtles on the day we went unfortunately. I had seen more turtles on our own at other beaches than at turtle town, but I did see a couple of turtles. In general, people aren't aware of snorkeling etiquette and oblivious to their surroundings. I had snorkelers cut me off, crash into me, and taking their sweet time getting on and off the boat with the single stairs. Overall a good trip if you want to get out to the crater, but as for turtles, go to a beach on west Maui and you won't really have any issues.

Every detail felt so thoughtful and special. They not only guided us to the most beautiful spots, but also took amazing photos and made sure we fully enjoyed every moment. Their energy, professionalism, and genuine excitement for us made the whole experience even better. If you're in Maui, I cannot recommend booking with them enough. And if you can request a captain; definitely ask for Spencer and Sam. They're the best.

I booked a snorkeling tour for one person in March 2026. Both my booking confirmation through…read moreGetYourGuide and the confirmation from Hawaii Nautical clearly reflected that the reservation was for one guest. The evening before my tour, I called to confirm everything. During that call, the representative noticed what appeared to be a duplicate reservation and assured me she would cancel the duplicate booking. She also recommended that I contact GetYourGuide to verify I would not be double charged. GetYourGuide confirmed that my reservation had always been for only one person and that I had only been charged once. Despite this, approximately two hours before my scheduled departure, I received a call informing me that my tour was being canceled because there were not enough passengers. I even offered to purchase a second seat so the tour could proceed, but that offer was declined. What is most frustrating is not simply that the tour was canceled, but that this issue could have been communicated much earlier. If the company knew they were unlikely to meet their minimum passenger requirement, there was no reason to wait until two hours before departure. By that point, I had already arranged transportation, incurred cancellation fees on my ride, and lost the opportunity to book another snorkeling excursion during my vacation. Yes, I was refunded, but a refund is the bare minimum when a company cancels a service for reasons entirely within its control. The last-minute cancellation created unnecessary inconvenience and wasted valuable vacation time. If you're booking with Hawaii Nautical, especially as a solo traveler, be aware that your reservation may be canceled at the last minute if they don't have enough passengers. I would have appreciated more transparency and significantly more notice.
