This location opened recently. I had the original arepa and I really liked the combination of flavor. Crispy corn bread stuffed with avocado, beans and plantains, with green sauce that was fresh and tasty, however too little of it and it felt a bit dry. It's a good size, I would say too big for someone who doesn't eat a lot. The only complaint I have is not enough sauce to blend in with the ingredients. I'll sure be back! read more

I have never tasted anything like this and it was delicious! This was my first "real" arepa. I highly recommend the Reina Pepiada. It has the amazing guasacaca and avocado mixed with citrus mayo dressing. It is a beautiful light green color. I love chicken salad. It reminded me of chicken salad in an arepa but 1000% better. The actual arepa bread was baked to perfection. The size is not small. I recommend coming hungry because the arepas are packed full of amazingness and you don't want it to go to waste! Everything here is made to order. Your food may take longer than you expect. But you cannot rush perfection. The plantain chips are cooked and made to order. They are always fresh. The only thing that would have made my experience better was if I liked coconut. There are so many amazing coconut drinks on the menu. I understand why this establishment is rated in the top 20 and 100 food trucks in the United States! So glad they have a brick and mortar location you can always go to. Arepas! I just love saying the word. And I love eating them as well! It's not easy to find a good arepas so when we located this quaint little restaurant, we knew it would be good. They serve up great quality, healthy options. I had the Reina Pepiada. The ingredients were fresh, and the chicken tender. My friend ordered the Pabellon which was also very good. I had never had an arepa before I tried one from here, but now, yo las quiero!! It's basically a portable packet of deliciousness. My Denver resident sister brought me here because her best friend has Celiac disease and is gluten free and QA is in their weekly meal rotation. I ordered one with plantains, black beans, shredded beef, cheese and I added avocado which made it even more moist and savory. Although it was technically the first day Denver restaurants could open for on premise dining, QA was still to-go only. We ordered online and it was ready exactly when they said it would be. I have been frequenting Quiero Arepas at Avanti but hadn't yet visited this location. The food is just as good as their other location! The location itself is in a cool little area. My husband ordered the mango juice (which was excellent, not too sweet and refreshing) and the La Havana and I ordered the Reina Pepiada and added plantains. We haven't been to the Avanti location in a little while so this may not be true, but the menu here was a little bit bigger. Both of our meals were delicious and were quickly prepared for us. There is not much by way of seating, since the location itself is pretty tiny but they made good use of the space fitting what they could. I would definitely go back. My only complaint is that the water station faucet was so slow-- I felt like I was standing there filling up my water cup forever! read more

I stopped by this South Pearl Street arepa spot for lunch while enjoying a long walk on a pretty early spring day. The menu has good options for carnivores and vegetarians alike. I really enjoyed my La Original made with fried plantains, black beans, and avocado. The food came out quickly, the arepa was nicely crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the fillings were delicious. The combination of the slightly sweet plantains with the savory beans and avocado works really well. You have the option of adding cheese, and although I can see how that would be good, it was great with the standard preparation. We found this place a couple months when we moved here and it did not disappoint! The arepas were filled to the brim and it can get messy. The beef in the pabellon was well seasoned and juicy. I'd hit that point during "stay at home" where I was going to lose my mind if I had to cook one more meal. I stumbled upon Quiero Arepas maybe thru a 303 Magazine post on Insta. Cruised the menu, called in and ordered, butchered the names of a few things I wanted and the staff was awesome, fun and not judgey at all. Gave me instructions for pick up and I hopped in the car to go pick it up. The drive was rad 'cause I was all by my lonesome, parking was easy - pulled right up front. Opened the door to the restaurant and the pickup rack was right there! EAZY! The nicest part was that everyone in the kitchen stepped out to wave and say thank you. No, THANK YOU! I could stop right there and give this experience 5 stars... But I got home. And we tasted the food. Holy Mary mother of god... It. Was. Delicious. It was fresh and tasty and spicy and sweet and everything this lady was needing after 20-some days of cooking 3 meals and prepping countless snacks. Yum yum yum.... this place is delicioso! I had the queso arepa last week. It was so big that I was only going to eat half, but it tasted so good that I thought, what the heck, best meal I've had all year, I'm going to eat the whole thing. Just stopped back in to place a to go order and they had it ready in like 3 minutes... If you haven't tried arepas yet, you don't know what you're missing. When they are overstuffed they're hard to eat. Opted for a side of plantains instead. The jamón y queso arepa was delicious and filling. The pollo guisado arepa was flavorful but the chicken was dry--yet it l still managed to be good. The plantain side was also a good size and flavorful but way too oily. And that leads me to the bad: Tepid and insipid customer service. Short. Not friendly. Just there. Very little interaction with customers. Venezuelan people are know for being warm and friendly but don't expect that here. I wish I had two ratings: one for food and one for service: Food gets 4; service gets a generous 2. read more

This queso arepa is life!!! I've had the ham and cheese (jamón y queso) one before and it was so heavy it was almost too much for me but this was perfect. Good ratio of cheese, avocado and plaintains. Definitely still filling but it didn't make me feel like I was going to implode like I did last time. Granted, that was my fault for eating too much of it but this queso arepa satisfied everything I needed in that moment. It was cheesy with sweet plantain bites. The passion fruit juice was delicious. Starting with location it is by a great neighborhood and as you enter very clean and not ce place. Customer service was amazing and very helpful. But the best of all was the Queen "Arepa" the size was perfect and then the taste was the best. Loved the originality and the taste took me back home. We order also plantains WOW ... amazing. It was fast, hot and yummy. I enjoy Venezuelan food so much because of the corn meal they use instead of the wheat flour. This place seems so cost effective for what you get too. I was stuffed! One of my favorite spots in Denver. I became a fan when I tried them initially at Avanti. So glad they opened a location much closer to my house. It's a cute little spot with plenty of inside seating, but also take it to-go and find a cute park to sit and eat in. As much as I loved this place and have been there many times, the last few times we went there the food was sub-par. The 'bread' seemed to be undercooked and was soggy. I hope the owners see this and resolve the problem. Seems that the current staff may need more training. read more
