They still do a fantastic job of keeping the inside quite neat. The gas station has shelves that are stocked, fast moving lines and service that is surprisingly friendly. My preferred spot for a quick refueling in addition to a snack is certainly this one.

I was thrilled to finally take the time to experience this legendary Texas institution for myself and I think I spent an absurd amount of time wandering around the store. I looked at everything... then circled back around to look at everything a second time... though I'm pretty sure my friends were very much ready to leave long before I was. And the shopping? Dangerous!!! *Nearly* three digits later, I somehow left with a Buc-ee's t-shirt, a seatbelt cover that I just love so much, Beaver Nuggets of multiple varieties, mints, a magnet/bottle opener, a patch, and honestly probably several other things I didn't technically need but absolutely wanted. Buc-ee's seems to sell literally everything. The highlight of the entire experience, however, was BY FAR getting a photo with Buc-ee himself. Absolutely iconic! Dreams. Came. True. Beyond the novelty of Buc-ee himself, the store was surprisingly clean, well organized, and efficient despite the crowds - so many people! Buc-ee's is basically part convenience store, part gift shop, part roadside amusement park, and yet it all works. If only they had a seating area to enjoy the mouthwatering pulled pork sandwiches they were selling... Anyway, I now *completely* understand the Buc-ee's obsession and can only hope California (or even New York!) someday gets one of their own. They even have mango peach tea in sweet and unsweet. Sold! There's also a variety of sandwiches, warm ready to eat food items, and a few bakery items. Typical convenience store fare. The process is as simple as 1, 2, and 3. In addition, I have never had an issue with their air compressor for my tires. The business is well run with Jeff at the helm as manager. I'm bougie and I need a clean place that's aesthetically pleasing with clean bathrooms and good coffee. Heading back from Lubbock, I will drive on fumes to make it here to get what I want. It's not massive like the other place, but it's clean and it has a few hot food spots as well as a Dunkin for my coffee needs. The staff is beyond friendly and I always chat it up with them. My only complaint is that the squeegees outside to clean my windows is there, but they are never in any kind of cleaning solution. It's just sitting there dry. Driving almost 300 miles to get to this spot means the windows needs some serious cleaning. Despite that, this will always be my stop heading back to Houston until I hit my other favorite spot a few hours later!
