They don't have a system in place to get your car inspected... I've tried multiple times to make a reservation and have always been shot down. They suggest leaving my car overnight and hoping (hoping!) that they can get to it that next day. That's a big ask in a car-centric city, and hasn't been the case at other spots. While it hasn't been dramatically bad service in my times here, it's not exactly the friendliest either. It's also just in a tough spot, literally. It doesn't fit in with the nice shops and walkable area it's buried in. It's got tight corners, the price is always higher than others, and it's often cramped and crowded. The other thing working against them is that there is a great QuikTrip just down the road that is much easier for stopping in. Lastly, the inside is tiny so they don't sell much of anything. Not a big drawback normally, but definite limits the reasons to visit this one. I steer away from this one unless I'm absolutely running on fumes.

Most people know Prairie Village as a quaint, walkable, neighborhood, and having a generic gas station right here seems really out of place. The funny thing is, while I've been here a few times, it's a gas station I nearly always skip. There are so many others in the Johnson County area and beyond (plus, QuikTrip is usually where it's at!) that this is really just a little blip of an eyesore. This station was always high on price, but can't really pull that off right now. If you need to go inside, the clerk is super friendly, has a plexiglass shield up, there's never anyone else inside, and he even has hand sanitizer and the occasional roll of toilet paper for sale. I bring a sanitizing wipe for grabbing the pumps and the touch screens just to be safe. I dig the setup right now, and it's on the way from my daily day-care drop, so it's stock is going up for my new routine.

It's a smaller station, a bit chaotic at times, and just OK overall. It's nice that you can get out onto either State Line or 79th street outside of it, but it's such a heavily congested area that it's never easy. I'm a QuikTrip brand ambassador, so I'll say it's a whole lot easier to go there and get in and out 10 out of 10 times.

This is going to get a little personal but everything here needs to be called out. And the public…read moredeserves to know who their money is going to. I use to love Casey's. Now they are just another elitist corporation treating hard working folk like they aren't even human. My son was diagnosed ASD and my husband notified his boss (David) that our responsibilities toward our son and his treatment would require Casey's to be understanding of appointments and time. David threatened his job. He has repeatedly threatened my husband's job if he wasn't at the store 24/7 to cover every shift for every staff member that has quit because of David's demands on them. He told my husband to leave our 4 year old autistic child alone at home and get to work to cover. It wasn't "his problem". David threatened my husband's job if he didn't work open to close back to back to back until it was no longer safe for my husband to drive. My husband got in an accident coming home from work after that exact abuse and we paid nearly 1000$ is repairs to the car after. Thank god he's still alive. My husband asked over and over to step down to a smaller position so he could help with our son's needs (autism is considered a severe medical issue) and was denied without a valid reason being given. David has refused to work with us to get proper FMLA paperwork on file and has chosen to give my husband a final warning for a bogus accusation. All of this is documented. And all of this has witnesses. I've also spoken to several other customers and family of employees. Things are just as bad if not worse across Davids district. Several others have sent complaints to corporate but nothing is being done. No improved conditions for staff and continued shortages because people refuse to be treated poorly for long. To everyone shopping at Casey's: put the blame where it belongs. It's not on employees in the stores. Better workplaces make for full staff. Full staff means the food is available and the shelves stocked. Our experience is a symptom of David's gross mismanagement.
