Our first night in Brevard we tried to eat dinner here, but didn't think to make reservations and could get in quickly enough to feed our hungry family. The next day, Sunday, however we had no problems walking in for a late brunch. Whoa! What a treat. Cool atmosphere, kind helpful staff but OMG the food! YOU MUST TRY SOMETHING WITH THE MOLE SAUCE! Everything was a treat... even the hot chocolate the kids ordered was made from scratch and with some chili pepper to warm you right up. Had the Molcajetc ordered pork got chicken. The other person at the table ordered chicken and got my pork. When I started eating I soon found a chicken bone in my dish. When we pointed it out to our server he was at loss and just said woops sorry. We had an option between corn or flour tortillas but they never told us. So they served as corn which we wanted flour and when we mentioned it they charged us extra. We ordered chips and salsa and once we got them, they asked us if we wanted more chips never saw them again. The food was bland. The service terrible no such thing as fine dining other than the price when we pointed this out to management at the end, they didn't offer us a discount on her ticket they offered us a gift card which was nice, except will never dark in their door again. read more

Had a delicious dinner with family and friends before a Brevard Concert. Our waiter Gabriel was great and very friendly. We shared a pitcher of margaritas which were very tasty! The chips and salsa came with both a red and verde salsa, both were fresh with a little heat. I enjoyed the pineapple stuffed with shrimp! It was amazing! We rolled into town late in preparation for a day of outdoors fun the next day. We started searching for dinner places and settled on Quixote. They were closing soon so we just asked to get an order to-go. The staff were extremely welcoming even though it was getting late. They pointed us to a place to sit and kept offering drinks while we waited. While we were looking over the menu, a waiter walked by with a plate of something with a mole sauce. It looked so good, I stopped him to ask what it was. He said it was their Mancha Mantel. That's what I had to have. My daughters decided to share their Salsa de Champiñones. My son decided on a boring quesadilla from the kid's menu. and my wife wasn't very hungry so just got some guac and chips and a side of rice. We took it all back to our hotel room. The smells coming from the bag were amazing. I dove in my meal and loved every bite of the chicken and mole sauce. The rice was amazing as well. It isn't your typical Mexican restaurant rice. When I finished the chicken, I mixed the rest of the rice and sauce for a strangely good combination. One of my daughters is a foodie with expensive tastes and the other eats only because it's how you sustain life. They were both raving over their dish. They said it seemed more like an Italian dish with the cream sauce and mushrooms and veggies but they still loved it. My son didn't like his rice so they took his to finish off their sauce. My son was the only one that got beans and that was a mistake. They were refried beans unlike any I've had before. I would have eaten them all but had to share. I've been joking for the past week that I'm headed out to pick up dinner at Quixote even through it's six hours from home. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town. Loved this place! What a fun find in Brevard. Food was exactly what we wanted--upscale Mexican. Staff was on point and cared about everything. We got the most popular dish -- a large stone bowl of veggies with a mix of chicken and steak. Their version of fajitas. Amazing!! We stopped in for lunch on 4th of July. We were visiting family in the area and saw the reviews on Yelp so decided to give it a try. Our group of 8 made us 50% of the lunch crowd at first so it was no problem getting a table but it got more busy as the lunch hour proceeded. The menu had lots of options from tacos to enchiladas to salads, soups and appetizers. Our group tried a variety of things starting with the guacamole which our group really liked. We also tried the queso fundito which took forever to arrive at the table and was pretty firm when it got to the table so it may have been sitting there for a while. Our lunch came just a minute after the cheese arrived. This is a family run restaurant and we were waited on by one of the sons. He's trying but his experience isn't yet up to par with professional waiters. I tried the enchiladas -one with the green chile sauce (very good) and the other with the mole (spicy and flavorful). Living the in northwestern corner of South Carolina we like to take day trips to the several beautiful towns in the nearby mountains. There are dozens of interesting and fun places to visit within 2 hours of us. This time we headed to Brevard N.C. in search of something different for dinner. There were lots of good choices. But, we decided to try Quixote Fine Mexican Dining. This is a very nice looking place with indoor and outdoor seating. We had our granddaughter of nine months with us. The staff was genuinely friendly and very helpful. After showing us to our table the host adjusted the nearby window shades to give us the best light. They, including the manager, were this considerate and helpful the whole time. A good deal of attention was being given to keeping things as COVID-19 safe as could be. It was all very nice.. But, we also went there to eat. From appetizers to desert nothing was disappointing. I normally stay away from chorizo because the flavor isn't usually special enough to put up with the amount of grease. Not the case here at all. Queso fundito was great. I will do that again. Our entrees were mostly chicken, shrimp, and really well done vegetables. Everything considered we plan to return and bring friends and family. Thanks Quixote. read more

Very nice little restaurant in Brevard. We go here for dinner but have also gone for brunch both were great. However, when ordering sodas- tried a few - none tasted right they were flat,watery? Like the machines hadn't been serviced . So that was a disappointment. We go back because there really isn't any good Mexican food in the area . (We have been to many within hours of Asheville and never that thrilled with the food) Papas is way too oily I can't eat there anymore so this place is our new go to. Even though they don't have a lot of the items that I like- it's still good. I'd say the beans are our favorite thing - just wish the portions were larger. read more

Had a really weird experience here, starting with the rude hostess. She seemed really preoccupied with making sure we knew what a popular restaurant they were. Shook her reservation list in my face even. Unnecessary. When we were finally seated my chicken wasn't cooked through. The rice had no taste. What a fine dining experience we enjoyed here the other evening. We haven't been here since they changed to a new downtown location, and it's a gem. There is indoor and outdoor seating -- we were indoors -- that is attractive and comfortable. And the food -- oh, the good food, about as authentic regional Mexican food as we could imagine -- was superb. We started with a Margarita in a large glass ($8 and worth it) with salt. Our Queso Fundido was a heavy cheesy appetizer with just the right amount of spice, while the Enchilada Suizas was meltingly good. We enjoyed the spaghetti poblano and ordered chips and salsa, fresh and crunchy ($3.99) and relished the not-too-sweet mole sauce and piquant salsa. Our server was quick and friendly, and the manager check on us a couple of times. We felt cared about and filled as we left the restaurant. It won't be the last time we venture here. Gabriel talked us into a salty caramel drink that was unique and absolutely fabulous! After that, Gabriel recommended chips with a cucumber salsa. It was magnificent! I'm a pretty adventurous eater and honestly a lot of the stuff looked good, but sadly I had a stomach ulcer when I came for my Mom's birthday so had to avoid all the fun stuff (margaritas, spicy dishes, mole etc.) I told this to the waiter. He said he couldn't leave the salsa off an otherwise bland dish I could eat that I requested, "no big deal," I said and I ordered rice, beans, avocado and a cheese quesadilla. He later came back and told me the manager said he couldn't serve a cheese quesadilla to an adult. This just made me very annoyed because obviously I'm having a rough go of it, trying to make the best of things, and spending a lot of money with the rest of my family at the restaurant. Not to mention I've already told the waiter of my circumstance. I just found that to be pretty rude and they made a bad situation I was in worse. The waiter was also not polite or apologetic about this at all. To be fair the waiter was German (or some European nationality) so English wasn't his first language--so maybe he didn't entirely understand, but he also never really checked on the table or made an effort to be nice. Still tipped cause that's the kind of people we are, but hope y'all do better with this in the future. read more

Good location in downtown Brevard, easy walk from our B&B. The menu had a lot of good options. The queso fundido was very good. I had the fish tacos & my husband had the flat iron steak; both meals were tasty & well prepared. With the appetizer and meals, there was more food than we could finish. The bar had a nice selection of local beers, and some nice tequilas for sipping after supper. read more

Food was pretty tasty, and everything was reasonably priced. The red salsa was a lil too sweet for my taste, but the salsa verde was tangy with a nice kick! They even gave us extra chips for free. My chicken enchiladas were very cheesy and well cooked, but a lil too salty. I loved the beans! My fiancé enjoyed his barbacoa, and thought it was even better with the hot sauce they offered us. The staff was so unbelievably friendly and attentive! I think everyone working stopped by our table to check on us at some point, but it didn't seem like too much. What a wonderful surprise! We wandered Brevard on a Sunday to find this gem. The five stars is for the food but mostly the best service we may have ever had. We started with a beer and a Very berry Margarita. Lots of beer to choose from and the margarita was made with fresh muddled berries. So delish. We got the drinks quickly and then ordered the appetizer sampler with queso fundido, guacamole and pepita. All three yummy and so filling. We were checked on by the bartender, our waiter, and the manager. Kudos to this staff. read more
