Great presentation and great food. I started with the cream of pickle soup. The soup I would not do again. Good flavor but not creamy enough for me. My main course was the roasted chicken with roasted potatoes and onions in a creamy thyme sauce, oh my was it good!! My husband started with pork patee with apple chutney, he enjoyed! His main course was beef stew with polish pancakes....he let m have a bite and the beef just melted in your mouth and the pancake was nice and crispy. A friend and I decided to try this place out this past Saturday. We arrived at 2:30 and were promptly seated (we did have a reservation, and were asked if we did--the place has very few seats, and I can see where this could be a problem.) First off, this restaurant is IMMACULATE. There was a bread plate offered--very nice. It was my intention all along to order the Polish Plate, but upon hearing the daily special Lake Perch, I had to do it. My Perch came with barley and a lovely sauce with tomatoes, etc. My friend ordered the cod, and hers came with potato pancakes, which she kindly let me try. The food was DELICIOUS! My fish was fried perfectly. They do have wine and beer, which I hadn't seen on the menu when I looked online. Traveling with family and decided to try out this Polish spot, tucked into a strip mall. Limited seating but they were happy to make room for us. The presence of a large table of Polish ladies next to us made me realize the food would probably be on point. While we were waiting for our food, they brought out a complimentary appetizer of delicious pate with apple sauce. Then came Zurek (sour soup) with delicious vinegary broth and yummy sausage. They didn't have a side salad (the salads listed on the menu were more like entrees) so my mother in law ordered a side of veggies to go with her pierogies. They turned out to be a perfectly seasoned, massive portion of carrots, broccoli, green beans, and pearl onions, big enough to share with the whole table! Her potato and cheese pierogies were delicious as well. Hubby had the goulash, which was tender and came with rich gravy and crispy mashed potato pancakes. Father-in-law and I both had cabbage rolls. We were both pleasantly surprised by how meaty they were, and enjoyed our different sauces: sweet tomato and rich mushroom. The portion seemed small at first- two rolls a little larger than my fist- but they were super filling so I ended up taking one home for lunch the next day. The servers were attentive throughout the meal, balancing their time well between the front of the house and a large party in the back. Everything came out quickly and drinks were always topped off. My only regret is that we were all so full we passed on dessert. As we were getting ready to leave, the ladies next to us got their desserts: two kinds of scrumptious looking cakes, and plums swimming in wine sauce and whipped cream. Just for your information I am 100% Polish, however the last time I went to Polish restaurant was ages and ages ago . I was tired of buffet full of greasy food waiting for an unfortunate customer. Qulinarnia is completely different!! From the moment you walk in you encounter clean, great smelling place and a cheerful server who shows you to your table. We were celebrating my sisters birthday and Qulinarnia didn't let us down. Tasty fresh food made to order. Polish beers along with other varieties . Our server Kasia had great personality and was welcoming and friendly. Pierogi super tasty, soups were delish, even my Mom had no complaints and she considers herself top Polish chef. For desert we had plums with ice cream and wine sauce. Very yummy!! The only "meh" thing was my Sister's fish, but who orders Australian fish in aPolish restaurant?!? Cute curb appeal drew us in. We were hungry and originally were going to grab Mediterranean food in the same plaza but saw this cute place and were intrigued by the cute curb appeal. Boy am I glad we went in. Really cute place and everyone was very friendly. The owner was working that night and she checked in after every course as well as we left. Looked like a family affair and we get very much at home during our meal. Their menu is in both English and Polish. Everyone else seated was ordering in Polish. We clearly needed English but they didn't make us fee out of place in the least. It was a large menu with a little bit of something for everyone - even kids. They brought bread, a meat (Pate maybe?) and applesauce is start. It was a nice start to the meal. Started with their cauliflower appetizer. It says oven baked with Parmesan cheese and a garlic sauce. Holy cow - unbelievably tasty! Hot, crispy, flavorful - we ate the entire thing - and were filled by it before our other dishes came out. We then had the lobster and spinach perogi and the cabbage rolls. Both were beautifully presented and the flavors were interesting and lovely. We had enough left overs for a full meal the next day! Ok, ok... my mom hit the jackpot in choosing Qulinaria for her birthday dinner last week! I will admit, I saw the location, and read "modern Polish cuisine" and was, well... scared. FEAR NOT, MY FRIENDS. Run, do not walk, to Qulinaria (but make sure you make a reservation - seating is limited)! Everything about our dining experience here was top notch. Food, drinks, service. Spot.on. Never in my life have I heard my mother say "every single thing I've eaten at this restaurant has been fantastic." As if that's not enough... let me tempt you a bit more: -Zywiec & Tyskie on tap (bonus points from our server because I knew how to pronounce Zywiec.) -Pierogi (the plural of pierogi is pierogi my friends.) 2 kinds on the menu (potato & cheese plus roasted spinach & lobster.) We got the potato and cheese. Served with sour cream and bacon. I prefer my pierogi pan fried - these were boiled, but the flavors were delicious! -TARTARE. Get over your fears and try this. -Smoked trout appetizer (was on special) came with super thin sliced beets and an apple slaw which balanced everything out wonderfully. -Pork Pate - brought to us on the house! How nice! -Cream of porcini soup. People. This was not gloppy cream of mushroom soup. I actually doubt there was any cream in it at all. It was just a lucious, velvety, hearty broth with porcinis and noodles. My lamb chops were 3 double cut frenched chops. It may as well have been a half of a rack of lamb. I tried my sister's salmon w/ barley - the salmon was cooked perfectly and the barley had a risotto-y texture - I would go back for it in a heartbeat! I also tried the veal meatballs with dill-horseradish sauce - I was nervous because I don't care for dill - but the flavors came together so well. Even my mom who doesn't care for veal loved them. 3 of the people at the table also had goulash. I didn't taste it, but they said it was very very good. Ania (Anya?) was our server - she did a fantastic job. She was really great with explaining menu items, making recommendations, keeping water glasses and beer refilled, and anticipating our needs. If you do frequent checkins you know that sometimes places give you a free offer, such as dessert when you show the waitress you checked in on Yelp. We got yelled at that we didn't show the coupon right from the beginning... So that seemed to be such a big deal... I think they need to state that on their Yelp coupon that in order to redeem it must be shown before you order. The food was ok, I had fish and it seemed very fatty. The only great thing about this small place was the chocolate mousse desert it was to die for. Towards the end, even though we already got a bill and were planning on leaving the waitress made us hurry up because there were people waiting for our table! My wife and I just discovered this place - amazing. We were headed to the Mediterranean restaurant next door, and modern polish cuisine looked more interesting. Not only was the presentation of the food visually amazing, but the food tastes great! The service was very good too. Usually, I have low expectations when going to new restaurants, but this place surpassed all my expectations - probably my favorite restaurant in the area now. I had French cut pork chop with sauerkraut and fried potato balls (I've never had anything like these potato balls before and they were great). Overall this dish was delicious and could definitely be served at a fancy restaurant in downtown - but, the price is very reasonable. My wife had a modern polish schnitzel with vegetables and it was really good too, but I liked my dish more. We are going back tomorrow, since we saw a number of other interesting dishes on the menu (e.g. Baked pork tenderloin with horseradish mashed potatoes, potato pancakes, salads, deserts, etc.). Just finished having dinner here with my daughter. The place is beautiful...new, clean and modern. Service was wonderful. Kasia was our server and she was incredibly sweet and genuine and she made us some killer tea! We got the cheese tart, potato and cheese pierogi and chocolate crepes. Cheese tart and pierogis were delicious...made from scratch. We got to meet the chef who is meticulous and cares about cleanliness and quality. No doubt we will be back...and soon!! read more

Delicious food ! Today was the first time I had dinner there and I will return. This place is a real gem, located in Mount Prospect, which is only 10 minutes away from my house. I never knew it existed. It looks like a family owned restaurant - small, clean and not too noisy. There was a small board with weekly specials on the table, and a separate sheet with daily specials. Me and my dining companion ordered from the menu with daily specials only and all three dishes were beautifully presented and deliciously prepared. There were only two female servers in the restaurant, one of them a super friendly, energetic and knowledgeable Polish girl. The service was impeccable, despite how busy the place was. Noticed this place while looking for another restaurant in the area, decided to come back and give it a try; infinitely glad we did! Clean, modern atmosphere inside, excellent service, and extremely fresh and delicious food! We came with a large party for the restaurant (8) and they were extremely accommodating. Our table got the mushroom pastry and grilled cheese appetizers, which everyone loved. Our server also bought us some pate with wheat bread and apple sauce on the house, delicious. I ordered the French cut pork chop with fried potato and cheese balls and onions which I would most definitely recommend. Other favorites were the lobster homemade pierogis, the cod, and the traditional pork chop. For dessert, the apple pie is divine and others at our table really enjoyed the plums! I had dinner here last night. The restaurant is near by and we have been meaning to try the place out. I love that the chef cares enough about ingredients to have a seasonal menu. That in itself says so much about the place already. The wine list was poor compared to the wonderful menu but the service was friendly and the food was delicious. I am not very familiar with Polish cuisine but the dishes were very well balanced and flavorful. I recommend trying the goose pierogi. The veal chop was also fabulous. Everything we ordered was wonderful. The duck breast was tender and cooked perfectly. This place truly is a hidden gem! I recommend it 100%! Loved this place! This was my second visit. The decor is modern and this restaurant would be great for date night or a night out with friends. We ordered the steak tartare, the lamb chop, the braised goose breast, and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was great. In my opinion, the portions are big and you get way more food for your money in comparison to restaurant hot spots in the city. Stopped in here to check out this place one evening. I had heard good things about it so it was time to see for myself. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall, a little bit hidden. Not a very large place but it was nice and clean. I started out with a Polish beer on the recommendation of our waitress. I liked it. Beer choices are fairly limited, but I was OK with what they offered. The dinner menu is not very large compared to other places. This place touts a modern Polish cuisine, so don't expect the usual fare. For an entrée, I had roast pork tenderloin which I substituted mashed potatoes in place of kasha. Asparagus and beets accompanied the dish. This pork tenderloin was excellent. A light gravy was on top. The potatoes were also excellent. The asparagus was actually grilled which gave a little char and a smokiness to it. Cooked perfectly. I do not like veggies that are overcooked (pet peeve). Now, I am not the biggest fan of beets, but the ones here were actually delicious. Earthy and not overcooked. Ate them all. Service was very friendly and efficient. And delicious, charming, and did I mention delicious?! My friend and I both started with the sauerkraut soup with lamb. It was savory and filling and I would definitely order it again. We then ordered short ribs with potato pancakes (me) and the salmon and black risotto for my friend. My meal was nothing short of mouth watering!
