Stopped by R&B Tea and honestly left disappointed. We ordered the Vietnamese coffee and the wintermelon milk tea with boba at 50% sweetness, but both drinks were still overly sweet. The "Vietnamese coffee" tasted more like a mocha and didn't really have that strong Vietnamese coffee flavor at all. The Wintermelon milk tea tasted like a watered down, very sugary milk tea, no Wintermelon flavor at all. What made it worse was the wait -- it took almost 30 minutes just to get 2 drinks. This has become the most-visited boba spot in valley fair for us, because most of other tea shops there are worse. While drinks are fine, they need to commit to customizing ice/sugar level at request. I got a drink with 75% of ice despite my request of "less ice." What's up with that? As a popular hub in food court, it attracts a great deal of foot traffic, in addition to people sitting at tables nearby. As a result, it's easy to observe workers displaying inharmonious dynamic through subtle expressions. I don't think they like their jobs very much therefore they are very slow! read more

I wanted something refreshing to drink after my lunch. R&B tea was very close to the food court. The young lady at the counter was friendly and directed me to use the kiosk if I was using a credit card. They do take cash at the front counter where they will take your order. The small Tea stand was nice and clean and even had a place to sit. I studied the menu and made my selection at the kiosk. I decided to go with the Hawaiian Fruit green tea. It was $7.05 and it only came in a large size. I selected no sweetness and 50% ice. My drink was ready in less than five minutes. Super quick. And it was huge. It came with slices of orang, lemon and lime and chunks of watermelon. As I walked away I took a sip and it was way too sweet. I was shocked because I asked for zero sweetness. I immediately returned to the counter and let her know that it was too sweet for me. She apologized and was very friendly about it. She remade it and it was much better. I really appreciate that she remade with no problem. Overall the tea was just okay. Not the best I've had but it was refreshing. Too bad they don't offer a smaller size. The location is convenient because it's right between the food court and some of the stores in the middle of the walkway. read more

Usually when I go to a mall, I get something to eat, but I'm not hungry at the moment. So I decided to get something drink and this place happens to be the one I selected. Looking through the menu, they do have plentiful of options. I wanted to try Hazelnut Milk Tea because I wanted that same flavor from another place, but unfortunately, they don't have that now. I asked for 50% sweetness, and it actually tastes like 100% of it. At least it wasn't too sweet though, but still it didn't meet my expectations. At the same time, it's not really a bad place to come here. Also, the drink became empty really fast because there seems to be too much ice, but I never specified how much ice I want to have. Usually boba places require you to ask about sweetness and ice, but from the kiosk, they're considered optional. If I had to guess, they apply 100% to sweetness and ice by default. When ordering, you can't do it in person since there's a sign that asks us to place an order from a kiosk. I don't recommend coming to this place if you really care about how much sweetness and ice they added. Just make sure that the rest of the ingredients (e.g. boba) is there. read more

This was my first time ordering and tasting R&B Tea. I'm not here in the South Bay that often so this is conveniently located right next to the food court. So the stand is at such a great location with a lot of lighting and great foot traffic. R&B Tea is right in the center part of the walkway on the 2nd floor and you really can't miss it!! Perfect eye view and right next to dessert stands as well for pastries to go with their delicious drinks here at R&B Tea. It's super easy to order since they provide 2 kiosk machines to order yourself or you can order at the counter with one of the staff members. The staff is super friendly. They also answered a few questions for me because they were able to confirm doing the least amount allowed for the Yakult drinks as 50% sweetness level. They have plenty of choices such as Yakult drinks, matcha drinks, all type of teas and fruit drinks with other toppings such as bobas, jellied lychee/fruits, Chia seeds, popping bobas and more. I decided to try this place out as I've always walk by it. I ordered the strawberry horchata and dragon mango green tea. The dragon mango green tea was very good. I would definitely order that drink again. I never had strawberry horchata before, but I'd definitely say it's pretty unique, tasted like a strawberry churro and was very sweet. The only downside is that the boba was not fresh at all. It was pretty hard as soon as I sipped my drink, which kinda ruins the whole experience. Service was really quick and efficient. My friends and I stopped by here in the mall on a weekday afternoon and all 3 of us were dissatisfied with our drinks. For starters, my friend ordered a drink with boba in it, but when he got the drink the worker told him that they ran out of boba so they added a different topping without consulting him (the drink was already sealed at this point so not much you can do). This seemed odd because in my experience usually changing someone's order warrants asking them what they want substituted. I'd understand if it was super busy and they couldn't stop to consult, but there were very few people in line/ordering and our drinks came out within a few minutes. And while this case might've been low stakes because my friend didn't have any allergy concerns, in general it seems like a very unsafe food/drink service practice to be adding ingredients without a customer's knowledge. Second issue we had was that their printed/displayed menu didn't quite match the order kiosk menus. The drink I wanted was listed on the display as including a topping, but in the order system it was listed without the topping for the same price and toppings cost extra to add. Also, the drink my second friend wanted from the display menu straight up wasn't on the order kiosk. For all three of us the flavored syrup in the drinks was not well-mixed in; I was getting sips full of sweet chunks of syrup followed by sips of just tea. I am admittedly not an expert in making these drinks but usually after the initial shake/stir before punching the straw in, the drinks should be pretty well mixed. read more

Nothing bad to say about this location! Its in a great location in the middle of Valleyfair Mall's food court. There was really not line because all the ordering is done on a kiosk! I find a lot of boba places are doing this and it does make the ordering process very convenient in my opinion. It was a warm day, and I was suuuper thirsty. Bf and I got the Peach Yakult and Strawberry Yakult both with the Aloe Vera as a toppings. Peach Yakult - Very refreshing! I think it's because my bf got 50% sweetness that it wasnt sweet enough for my liking (even though we usually get 50% even at other boba places). Maybe for this specific flavor/drink you should get more if you like sweeter flavor! He liked it though Strawberry Yakult - I LOVED IT! It was perfect for me! Rating - 5 Stars Strawberry Matcha Latte (sub Oatmilk), 70% Sweet, had a nice creaminess and good strawberry flavor which tasted very natural. There was a very subtle earthiness from the matcha which worked well with the sweetness. However, it was still a bit on the sweeter side and pretty dominantly strawberry, so I'd do 50% Sweet or less next time to hopefully taste more of the matcha. TP Tea is my favorite spot for Strawberry Matcha Latte, but R&B Tea is definitely a close second. I also like these places more than Boba Guys since the flavors are more pronounced. So specifically in regards to Strawberry Matcha Latte around Valley Fair/Santana Row, I prefer R&B Tea over Boba Guys, but Boba Guys over Rabbit Rabbit. read more
