I had a very frustrating experience at this location yesterday. I placed my order in person and waited 20 minutes before anyone bothered to tell me that the drink I ordered was out of stock. After I updated my order, instead of prioritizing it to make up for the delay, it looked like they sent my new drink straight to the back of the queue because I saw many cups ahead of mine. I watched a few people who ordered after me receive their drinks while I was still waiting. There were also many people that ordered around the same time as me still waiting for their orders as well. My order was only made after I went up to the counter to complain about the delay again bringing my total wait time to over 30 minutes. To make matters worse, the staff was busy chatting and laughing with each other instead of focusing on orders or communicating with waiting customers. Had they told me right away that my drink was unavailable, I could have chosen an alternative without wasting half an hour. Very unorganized and disrespectful of customers' time. To sum it all up, TP tea is amazing, but I would recommend another location or going to Tastea next door. read more

I've been here twice now, and unfortunately this visit was a disappointing experience. I decided to try something new--the Lychee Berry Smoothie--but it didn't turn out well. While I generally like strawberries, the strawberry sauce in this drink tasted off. Not sure if it taste bad because it's near the end of the day. I noticed a sign stating that if you're not satisfied with your drink, it can be remade. So I politely asked if they could remake mine without the strawberry since that was the only issue. At first, the employee told me they couldn't remake it without strawberry, which was confusing given the posted policy. I explained again that the strawberry tasted bad and pointed out the sign. Only then did she agree to remake it. Everything else about the drink was fine, and I wouldn't have asked for a remake if the strawberry sauce hadn't tasted spoiled. The interaction just felt unnecessarily difficult and left a bad impression. It was upsetting to end my day with this kind of experience. Such a nice looking location! They make online orders fast. The new velvet Jasmine line was tasty so I'd be back for that. I'm a tieguanyin fan and I would say their version tasted like a regular roasted oolong which is still good, just not quite yet what I'm looking for. In short, maybe it was just a bad day, but my hubby's Jasmine Milk Tea did not treat his tummy well and mine was slightly questionable but it was the perfect sweetness with solid grass jelly and the service was quick! They have a shared parking lot and though there are a number of compact spots, they're much wider than your typical ones and could be treated as normal parking spots. There are two kiosks to the right when you enter and there are maybe 2-3 small tables where you can sit but it's really not a place to hang out. M E N U I perused their menu at the kiosk. I decided to go and order something classic. I've had TP Tea before at other locations. I got their House Milk Tea with Grass Jelly and my hubby a Jasmine Milk Tea with boba. I typically get no sugar and no ice whenever I get a topping and for me my drink was perfect in terms of sweetness from their grass jelly. It was milky. My hubby unfortunately had some stomach issues after only drinking a few sips. I don't know if it was the tea or the creamer or even the boba they use but yeah he did not have a great experience. Mine seemed fine. They are located close to Christy's Donuts, Frank & Further's, Tastea, etc. The place is small and only has a few inside tables and seats. Two kiosks & an cashier to order from. The large display shows you when drinks are ready or where in the queue. They were offering a BOGO on their Orange Series Drinks. *California Sunset: w/cube pearl, strawberry, orange (4/5). 80% sweet and less ice. The drink was tasty, though, still a tad sweet. Ordered the Lychee Berry smoothie with 80% sugar. Place was really small, so not meant to hold many people. It was pretty busy when I got there. Made my order through the kiosk instead. I wanted something not too sweet, but fruity. The lychee berry looked good, so I ended up getting that. I knew it was a blended drink, so I intentionally did not order any toppings like boba or lychee jelly. I feel like it would be challenging to drink a smoothie with toppings. The smoothie was perfect for me. The lychee flavor was not overpowering. It was thoroughly blended. Rarely had any chunks of ice. The strawberry bits were nice. They weren't big or frozen. TP Tea is poppin' off and opening multiple franchises all across the Bay Area. I originally tried the TP Tea in Berkeley and thought it was just ok. Recently, I tried something else at the Sunnyvale location and loved it! Ever since, we go to TP Tea all the time. My absolute favorite is the Taiwan Milk Tea which includes 3 toppings, but the Classic Boba Milk Tea, Lemon Green Tea, and Black Tea Crema are all delicious. The only drink I didn't enjoy is the Strawberry Milk Tea. Unfortunately, at this Berryessa location, they don't allow preordering through Snackpass yet so you have to order in person and wait for your drink(s). They mentioned it's because they want to interact with customers but I'm sure people would prefer to just order online and pick up to minimize wait time and increase convenience like at all the other locations. Overall, I'm so glad that they're opening more shops and cannot wait for the Milpitas one. In the meantime, we'll continue to visit this Berryessa location. read more

Though I didn't end up getting boba of the time, I did try the place a week or so later as I came to find out that my sister was a huge fan of it. We visited TP Tea around 1pm on a Friday. The place was so busy, but the crowd was a mix of mobile orders and on the spot to-go orders. TP Tea was in a small space, which made it feel a bit cramped with all the guests in there. That said, we didn't have to wait very long for our drinks. We placed our orders on the kiosk and waited about 5 minutes until we received them. My sister got the 4 seasons milk tea, which was had a nice floral flavor and a well balanced amount of sweetness. I got the mango boba milk tea that my husband and I enjoyed. It was more of a slushy because of fhe blended ice, but it had a creaminess to it almost like smoothie. I thought their boba was great in terms of taste, texture, and firmness. I bought 4 boba drinks and asked for a bag to carry them in. I thought it would be either the cardboard drink holder or the bags with 2 compartments, but it was just a normal bag. We just came home and put the bag on the table, but because the drinks were sitting in a plastic bag without any support, they toppled over. Two drinks opened up. The paper cup opened at the top where the plastic seal is, but the seal is weak. The plastic cup busted open on two sides, split all the way from top to bottom with the drink pouring out. This has never happened to me before. PI called and told them about the weak cups and lack of support for the drinks, but they wouldn't offer a refund or replacement for the drinks (though I told them I can bring the broken cups as proof). You can customize the sweetness and ice level, just keep in mind some drinks cannot be adjusted. It wasn't overly creamy and had the subtle tea flavor notes. The boba was nice and chewy (not al dente). Ambiance Small boba shop for grab-and-go or lounge at the tables inside. There were Christmas decorations hung around the boba shop and a tree. It was bright inside with the standard menu displayed from the ceiling and printed hardcopy. When I visited, it was in the soft opening phase and there were already quite a bit of customers ordering drinks. It felt a bit claustrophobic with the line to order and waiting around for ordering both inside and outside of the storefront. OK, the first time I tried this place I got the fruit tea and honestly wasn't crazy about it. It's very tart and sweet. I had to go home and dilute the crap out of it (I got 80% sweet), but the tartness was too much. Then I tried their Taro milk (I usually get this at another spot and it was closed) and it is SOOOO Good. I'm definitely coming back for this again and again. I always get the strawberry milk tea with boba here since it never disappoints! I've also heard great things about the tie guan yin milk tea with qq noodles! This location is pretty small. They have a small bench that can seat about 6 people total. They're currently in their soft opening phase so definitely come get a drink before it gets busy! I enjoy the flavor profile of tieguanyin tea; it's complex, balancing floral and nutty notes, and pairs well with milk. The TP Tea drink I'm always craving especially during San Jose 90 degree days is the Strawberry-- it's blended with ice; one sip and I'm transported back to balancing a cone underneath strawberry ice cream and cannonballing in neighborhood pools. Texturally perfect, lightly sweet, and the right balance of strawberry and black tea. More of a grab and go spot with 3 small tables and not a ton of standing room inside.
