I recently checked out the infamous "pre inflation tuesday" at Sugarhill and was not disappointed! Keep in mind - it gets BUSY! but in my opinion it was still a great experience. Even with a long line and tons of people, the service from the bar was friendly, personable, and efficient. We were told it may take up to an hour for our food, which we didn't mind because we wanted to lounge and drink anyways first. Finding seating at a time so busy was a challenge, but we eventually got a spot in their covered outdoor patio section. The ambiance of the place is cute and it was much bigger than i was expecting! The deal is hard to beat. I was expecting the cheeseburger to be tiny for only being $3, but it was a good size and delicious! $3 fries, $3 cheeseburgers and $3 miller was just what we needed. We will return for this deal and also on other days to get their house cocktails!

I haven't been to sugarhill in awhile, but I really enjoy the happy hour menu and the pre-inflation Tuesday. I'd recommend checking out sugar hill on a Tuesday where the cost of food and drinks are AFFORDABLE! The server was attentive because I'm used to ordering at the bar but the server came and asked multiple times about whether we needed more drinks or food! My friend ordered the chicken nuggets but they were a bit overcooked. I usually like the impossible cheeseburger and fries! The spritz was delicious.

My friend wanted to take me out to the bar with a group of friends while I was visiting town, and we ended up going to see Sugar Hill. We ended up coming in during I think what was called "Motown Monday", so you do have a DJ playing that kind of music. We did come late though, so the place did start to slow down. We were all impressed by how beautifully decorated the space was, and the lighting set the perfect mood. We all got different drinks, I know my friend ordered the Mystery Machine which he liked, while I got a pretty good Paloma. I'm definitely curious to see how this place is like on a busier hour, but I would definitely come back here again for both the drinks and vibes.

Sugarhill is one of the cuter bars I have seen! It's 70s theme is more like a hint of coziness and trendiness hitting what most people think of the 70s. There's a backroom that is reminiscent of someone's grandmother's place. We came in on a Monday right when they opened and it was fabulous. Not too busy and easy to get drinks. We got the espresso martini and the pornstar martini. The espresso Martini had Sugarhill printed on top. It was a cute touch. The Pornstar Martini was pretty good for a Pornstar Martini. Not too tart nor sweet. Loved it! One gripe is that the photo booth was a bit too bright and also did not print physical strips! Otherwise, very nice bar!

Fun spot on Belmont! Sugarhill is definitely somewhere you go for the vibes primarily - it's got fun 1970s style decor. The food is alright, the kind of stuff you could microwave. The drinks are fairly classic with a twist (eg, agua fresca margarita, spicy tamarind lemon drop, strawberry rhubarb mule, pineapple mojito). They've got a happy hour 5-7pm and they do "pre-inflation Tuesday" which is when I've been. It's hard to beat the prices. I may be the oldest person in the bar in my mid 30s - but coming here will keep you young.

Came to Sugarhill for their pre inflation happy hour and was pleasantly surprised Enjoyed some great drinks and oysters all at a solid value. The place has cool unexpected vibes a mix of laid back and stylish that makes it feel like a hidden gem. Plus the staff was very helpful and accommodating definitely a spot I'll be coming back to for both the atmosphere and the deals.

Sugarhill is a cute spot! I went for pre dinner drinks at around 5p on a Saturday so it wasn't super busy and I was happy the music was not super loud. I assume it's pretty different later at night. It was happy hour and we were not sure what the menu meant by "draft cocktails" but it turns out most of their cocktails are on draft! It's cool because then it takes no time to get them made! My husband had the Airport 77 and is obsessed with it. I tried the strawberry rhubarb mule, which was very sweet and good. It wasn't super ginger-y. The "patio" also looks nice! It's in an alley and is heated.

Booth view, yes a little privacy please. Super cool vibe.

I love a secret door, that's all I'm going to say about that. Great bar, the booths are so comfy and semi-private. Great service and there's always good finger foods at Portland bars (cuz they gotta serve food if there's booze)! There's an outdoor patio, Photo Booth, 70s room. It's just so chill!

One of my favorite places in all of Portland!! I have no idea how this doesn't have more reviews. The food is great. Prices are amazing. The deals insane. And the atmosphere is unbeatable. Taking everyone here!

Hopped in for a quick drink after grabbing tacos and they have great drink prices for Tuesdays. The lighting is low, making the space intimate and the tables are along the outer wall. There is a uniquely shaped booth in the middle, but it seems as people use this when waiting a table. Good music and vibes!

The vibes here are great! Plenty of indoor seating with an outdoor seating area in a private alley for those who want to enjoy the summer air. Street parking can be limited, so be prepared to park a few blocks away. I visited for my first time on a Thursday night and the space was busy but not too crowded - we were able to secure a booth (which was very comfy) after we ordered food/drinks at the bar. I tried the Strawberry Rhubarb Mule and it was sooo good! I expected it to taste like some of the mules I've had in the past, but this one was very sweet with only an underlying ginger taste. I would recommend this drink for anyone looking for a sweeter beverage that is reminiscent of a tasty juice! The bartenders were friendly and brought our food out to us at the table. We ordered some fries and nuggets which were warm and a perfect pairing to our beverages. There was also a "secret door" that led to another room with a photo booth and more seating! I can imagine that Sugarhill would get pretty busy on the weekends, but I'm glad we came on a weekday night so we could enjoy the space more. Definitely would recommend this bar for a night out!

The ambience was really cool , the drinks is water went for!! They were really good !!! There's also a Photo Booth and the way it was decorated did feel as if you were in someone's living room ! Very cool place to just hang after dinner!

A lot of dive bar food is made with beer whether the menu says it or not and it is usually just a tragedy. I get it - drunk folks do not care what they are eating but the menu is about the same at most places. A friend wanted to attend a Shakespeare interactive play here. Since it was starting at 7pm and I live in Beaverton I was not going to have time to get over here and eat so I looked up the bar online. I was curious at the Mediterranean food but also very happy since that is not made with beer. My friend arrived before me and grabbed up perfect seats. We realized it was going to be a full house so we had better order food which was super easy to do. Can I also throw in that on their wall behind the bar they have chips you can just grab from the bartender... FRITOS, which are one of my favorite things. But thank you - just that... I was not drinking and just having soda with the show and some food but I could genuinely see having a few drinks and just grabbing one for a small snack. Our food, even with the bussel busy Friday night, came pretty fast and all the folks taking orders and serving were super friendly, wanting to help. I wanted the chicken gyro but they ran out so I gave their falafel a go - the falafel was a touch on the over mark but was still pretty delicious and I opted for a 'side' salad which I thought was strange to upcharge $3 for until it arrived and was INSANE... so huge! I got a side of onion rings too which were ridiculously good...seriously some of the best damned rings I have had and I could not stop eating them so that, my friends, was dinner... I had to take most of the gyro and salad to go. That salad ...later...I had an avocado I needed to use up at home and with their dressing. It was incredible! Amusing thing is that there is a vegan restaurant my friend had wanted to try near here and we did. Had the WORST experience and this was perfect... when we are over here this just earned itself a place as a go to spot for me. I might even drink here sometime HAHAHAHA!

TPK Brewing is a super fun brewery that Steve and I have enjoyed twice now. There is a lot to love…read morefor me with this brewery. The fantasy and the Dungeons & Dragons themes are really fun and totally calls to me. So therefore with our first experience here I stocked up on a lot of swag- shirts! My first beer with this brewery was a Red Ale or Amber Ale, The Lady of Embers. This was a very enjoyable first time beer with this brewery. Flavor features in this beer are Caramel, a roastiness, maltiness, biscuity and a dry finish. It proved to be a fun beer to try out for the first time and we were eager to come back and try more of their beers. A bit of time passed and we were able to do that. This time we got three different beers of different types to give us a well rounded experience with their beers. Cascade Falls was the first beer on the second experience that we delved into. This beer is a Cream Ale and I haven't had one in a while so I was quite eager to get a hold of another one again. This particular Cream Ale had peaches and vanilla as the primary flavors and they were pretty good. It was sweet but not heavy handed which made this beer pleasant. This beer was a collaboration beer with another brewery, Thunder Island Brewing Company. After that I moved into dark beer territory and got a stout by the name of The Ashbringer. This one I rated very highly on Untappd because I enjoyed the flavor profile so very much! This stout has flavor highlights of roastiness, a spiced presence, coffee, chocolate and some clove. It was a really well made stout...well balanced and one I really got into. I believe actually this was my favorite beer out of the several I have tried. The last beer was a Marzen beer, a type that isn't too terribly common but always a good one when I can get a hold of it. The name of this beer was the Hasta La Raiz. This is a nice light bodied beer that has maltiness, roastiness, some fruitiness and a bit of a floral presence. It was a fun one to try out for sure. TPK Brewing also serves food and it's quite good! We grazed off of several different appetizers here that we really enjoyed. The first one was the Yuca Frita which was Yucca cut into big, thick French Fries sort cuts and we dipped it into a green sauce as well as a pico de gallo type of dip which enhanced the experience. In addition to that we got a beef empanada that Steve and I split along with the same sauces...also excellent and then to round out our snacking here we got the Arepitas De Queso which is a white masa cake mixed with cheese and then deep fried. It also had the same sauces as the previous two appetizers but we were fine with that... we were all about it and deep into it. Steve and loved this place and would be thrilled to come back to enjoy more of their food and beers !

Warm, welcoming, nerdy, and friendly atmosphere…read more Did I mention nerdy? This is almost just as much of a D&D shop as it is a brewery! If you are not playing Magic the Gathering or D&D, you will feel like the 'weird one'! Beers are good, with a couple lagers, a stout, and some IPA's. The food is surprising! You'd think they'd phone-it-in, but there's a great selection of Latin food. Everything from Cubanos to bowls to burritos.
