I love all these new fun restaurants that are opening up in the Riverwoods. It really is becoming quite the place to hang out and shop! However, this joint is just ok. It is like any other BBQ joint, not super special. I was impressed that they gave me a ton of brisket in my meal. The BBQ sauces here aren't my favorite. The workers are nice. We brought our friends visiting from St. George for some BBQ. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in by Waymen. He offered to bring us some samples, delicious Smoked pork and chopped brisket while we stood in line. Waymen came over to our table to check on us and to get to know our families better. His genuine hospitality and warmth made us feel like family. I told my wife that Waymen is in the business of making people happy and treated like family. This experience will never be forgotten. He brought out some peach cobbler for the adults and root beer floats for the kids. The BBQ was amazing, Smokey, flavorful, and so tender. Thank you for making our day Waymen. Went to R&R BBQ as we had heard good things. The food was okay, the bbq is just decent, (for sure not the best I have ever had) and the service was pretty bad. First, the day we went in the girl taking orders looked as if she was going to pass out. She had her mask on, but you could tell something was off by her. We tried telling her she may want to go home and we even reached out to a manager, but she said she was fine (which she for sure was not). There were 8 of us and we wanted to order dinners and we had to repeat ourselves multiple times for the girl taking our order to understand what we were saying. I ordered the 2 meat platter and got a rib on the side. Getting a ride on the side cost $2.50 and you get a really small rib with barely any meat. I do not suggest you do this. The 2 meat platter came with 1 side and hush-puppies. I got brisket and their sausage and for my side I got the coleslaw. If they really gave me brisket (I think it was pulled pork) then it was the worst brisket I have ever had. It was super dry and lacked flavor. Because of COVID they don't do sauce bottles anymore. The Carolina sauce is literally just vinegar, the hot bbq sauce was prob my favorite of the sauces. The Sausage was really good. I liked when you bit into the sausage it popped. If you check in on Yelp you get a free 1/2 order of chicken wings. I really liked the chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly and I ordered them plain and they were juicy and delicious. Others at my table also mentioned the brisket was pretty bad and was super dry. I tried the baked beans and again not much flavor in them. Being that I only visit Utah once a year I don't think I will be going back to R&R. The food was just not that good and the service was not great either. They forgot meals and we had to go up to the counter with our receipt to get them. It was just overall a bad meal. I do not recommend this place. read more

Going to give it 4 but it should be 3.5. We found that the brisket is better if you get it chopped up! Pulled pork seemed to satisfy most in my crowd and same with the mac and cheese, well cooked but pretty well and average flavor. Hush puppies have jalapeños in them! Pretty good as well as the baked beans were a great size when they came with the kids meal. The chicken nuggets were decent almost of chick fil a quality with thicker batter! Very disappointed with this place! We just moved here and was looking forward to trying good looking bbq. We placed an order over the phone, this place is 20 min from us. We drove to get the order and when we arrive they told us they don't take cash, which should have been specified over the phone. We drove fir 15 min trying to find a bank which was another 15 min from the restaurant. We called and asked if they would make our food fresh because we don't want soggy nacho, tacos, fries, or burger buns... but they just told us no we will cancel your order. So we were left with 5 very hungry kids in the car at 745 pm on a school night, trying to find something else to eat. I really wish I could comment on the food, but I give it a 1 on customer service and the only reason I'm giving it a one is because they were polite when taking our big order. read more

Easy, fast, delicious! Had the pulled pork sandwich on the local made bun and it was fantastic. Also a side of chopped brisket that was great! Now BBQ is only as good as your sauce and they've got good sauce. The Carolina sauce in the pulled pork sandwich took me straight back to my days in North Carolina eating east carolina style bbq. Loved it! The original sauce is great and if you like sweet or spicy they have that too! Unfortunately they ran out of potato salad so I ended up getting the mashed potatoes which were good. I want to try the sweet potato fries (love sweet potato fries) and the hush puppies (North Carolina staple)! Tip: get coleslaw on your pulled pork sand which and try the Carolina sauce. Trust me. This place was awful. Food was not good. Cold. They forgot half our order and we had to go ask for it and they said we didn't order what was missing. Once they looked up the order they found out they were wrong but never apologized for the accusation and not giving us the food we paid for. I even asked if we could get a free dessert for having to wait and they said no. But honestly the worst part about this place is how over priced it is. I'm from Arizona and we have an amazing BBQ place in Gilbert where the food is waayyyy better than this place and way cheaper. You DO NOT get what you pay for here. For me Brisket is the main item that a bbq joint should be judged on, unfortunately the brisket missed the mark, at least on this day. It was really dry. :( I got the 3 meat plate, and everything else was pretty good, unfortunately the dry brisket takes it down a couple of stars. Great service keeps my opinion at a strong 3. R&R hooked us up and we gave them a second chance. We went on a Saturday night again, this time at around 6pm. The customer service was eons better--actual smiles and a welcoming tone to greet us, food came out on time. Husband and I both got 2 meat plates--brisket on both, sausage on mine, and pulled pork on his--and we both got fried okra sides and peach cobblers with ice cream for dessert. I did think it was a little crazy that our total came out to $51 for two meals and two desserts. Still think the place is a liiiiiittle bit overpriced, but what can I really do about that. We got our food and the brisket was much better than the last time. I still think their brisket isn't as moist as it could be, but the pieces that are connected to fat are good. The just brisket pieces feel drier. The sausage was really good!! I'll definitely get that again. Hush puppies are always consistently good. Sauces I still think need a little work, but that might just be me. The beer batter of the okra is super good, but it does fall off the okra way too easily in my opinion, so you pretty much just end up getting okra and then you're left with a heap of breadcrumbs at the bottom lol. The peach cobbler and ice cream is great! I think I personally prefer the banana pudding though. Maybe there wasn't enough ice cream for the amount of warm cobbler. Waymen was there again and was doing his thing being fantastic with the customers. We always look forward to seeing him there :) Much better experience this time around! First time trying it. Between price, quantity, and quality I'd give it 3 stars. The main reason is regarding the quality mainly and secondary quantity. The meat itself was a bit on the dry side. The sauces here are pretty watery instead of a thicker sauce making it harder to apply better. The sauces didn't have much variety of difference between them with none really standing out as excellent. The pull pork sandwich bread itself was generic in quality and the veggies used seemed to be on the cheaper end. The Mac and cheese was pretty generic with a lack of flavor and slightly over cooked noodles. I have eaten at plenty of R&R's across the state and this Provo location pretty much is standard for an R&R. Let me give you the lowdown on the positives and negatives with this bbq joint. First, the food is pretty good. I really enjoy their chicken sandwich and their bbq sauces. They are honestly very good. I also like the Mac and cheese and their hush puppies. As far as Utah bbq goes, you aren't going to find much better. Why does it only get 3 stars then? Let me tell you about the downfall of R&R. 1. They are not quick. If there is much of a line expect to wait for quite a while. Tonight I waited for about 20-25 mins simply to order. It wasn't even that crowded. This has also been a common occurrence across all R&R's. 2. They are awful at getting you your hot sides. I have ordered onion rings about 15 different times and each time they take till I've already finished my food to get me my onion rings. Tonight was no different. All my food came out and then I waited for about 10 minutes till I got my rings. PLEASE FIX THIS!! I want to eat my sides with my meal. 3. If you go you will smell like meats. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but you will leave smelling like R&R. Overall good food, but I wish they'd fix their ordering system. Going forward I will only be ordering take out or using DoorDash. That way I can avoid the headaches. read more

I've experienced the pros and cons of R&R multiple times now which helps me feel like a can leave a fair review. First things first, most of their locations are relatively new and it shows. Each time I've been, you can tell they are working out kinks (i.e. no syrup in the soda machine or the fact that my mac and cheese didn't come out with my order and we had to go ask them about it after we'd eaten all our food). I've heard about the later of these two cons happening to other friends and family members too but I have faith they'll work it out. I am also not a fan of their ordering system. I hate waiting in line to order and then having to wait for my food too. Every time I've been to an R&R, there's been quite a bit of waiting and the line always seems to move pretty slow. Their friendly employees always make up for it though with their kindness. With all that being said, I LOVE their food. Their BBQ is comparable to lots of other places but their more unique items like their award winning brisket tacos are out of this world!! Their nachos are HUGE and their sides are very tasty. Their bbq sauces are also unique and really flavorful. I will say their menu items can start getting a little pricey if you're wanting to try sides with your meal (especially the brisket tacos) but the food is quality and I do love the atmosphere and branding. Walked by this place once before and the smoke smell was awesome so next date night we gave it a try and WOW I was impressed...It was clean,well staffed and just inviting..We felt like appetizers so we ordered up the pork nachos and some fried pickles...Order arrived at table super fast and looked awesome...The cheese sauce is dynamite and pork was cooked up perfectly...the fried pickles are sliced like fried pickles are supposed to be but the ranch was a little too watery and did lack that ranch flavor needed for pickles but over all an awesome experience and we are looking forward to going back....GREAT JOB... read more

R&R BBQ has been my go to BBQ joint in Utah. Their food is high quality and very consistent. I love the brisket, boneless chicken, and ribs for the meats. The red beans and rice are killer and the peach cobbler is awesome. Customer service is usually pretty friendly. I've had a couple minor mess-ups out of the several times I have been there, and they were really happy to correct any issue. Sometimes the sides outshine the main course! Today I got brisket, chicken, hush puppies and mashed potatoes. Hush puppies: Best I've ever had. I've had them nice and soft on the inside, but I never knew could be so *perfectly* crispy on the outside. They also didn't have any the little hard bits of corn meal that are usually found in hush puppies (I hate accidentally chomping down on those!) Mashed potatoes: Real! I love that they leave the skins on. I like the subtle flavor it adds. Brisket: I asked for marbled and I got it just the way I like it. Tender, moist (not even a hint of dryness), and tasty. Nothing I'm going to rave about, but there wasn't a single flaw about it; just done right. Chicken: This is where I get to the down side. It was so salty I could hardly think about its underlying flavor, which is unfortunate because I think it was pretty good. My lips burned (just slightly) with every bite. We have gone to eat here several different times. My family & I absolutely LOVE the food here!!! Especially the chicken wings & the creamed corn. There is a black American that works there that is absolutely the best customer service provider we have ever come in contact with. We will continue to eat here not just because the service is amazing but because the food us absolutely delicious & you don't have to wait forever to get your order.
