Pretty difficult to get a reservation on the weekend unless you think ahead but they also have a bar with open seating if you want to go that route which is what I did. The restaurant itself has an outdoor patio with impeccable views of the lake. Perfect for a night out with friends or a date night. This time I got wagyu bolognese, lobster bisque, honey cornbread, and wagyu sliders. The wagyu sliders were so moist and cooked to perfection. They're paired well with an aioli that's gives it a little flair. The highlight of the show was the Wagyu Bolognese. I often struggle with pasta being too heavy of a dish but this one was perfect. The pasta was very tender and was clearly homemade which was bonus points for me. Bar service was great and I've never had any complaints. Can't wait to be back for more here soon!

For our meals, I ordered the Wagyu Bolognese ($30), and my friend had the Braised Short Rib ($39). We also shared the Herb Butter Buns ($8), which were fabulous--hot, soft, and served with whipped butter and flaked sea salt. Pure perfection. Unfortunately, the entrees were disappointing. Salted Edge is definitely more of a "treat" for us given the price, and we were both excited to try Chef Joel Hassanali's creations. With his background--growing up in Trinidad, working in his parents' Caribbean restaurant, and training under world-renowned chefs in NYC--we were expecting bold flavors and spice. Instead, both dishes were surprisingly bland. Her short rib, which comes with a jalapeño potato cake, Bloomsdale creamy spinach, and horseradish crumble, lacked the punch we were hoping for. The ambiance is lovely, the staff attentive and polished, and everything looks beautiful. The pasta was freshly made, the meat tender, and the presentation impressive. But for those of us who don't get to splurge on fine dining often, the food didn't deliver the wow factor we expected. Overall, it was an elegant experience, but I'm in no rush to return.

Where do I start... we ordered the Rueben dip as an appetizer and let me tell you. Chunks of corned beef mixed with deliciousness in every bite! Wowza! I ordered the Roast beef and I think I had a half a cow! And the flavors were explosive and it's not even the Fourth! Red Rooster was rated by Yelp a year ago as having the best fried chicken in Nebraska. It was really that good! So I thought the best test of the new restaurant would be the fried chicken. I ordered the 4 piece with mashed potatoes and white gravy. Unfortunately it was disappointing. The breading was off and it was way too salty. On this night it was NOT the best fried chicken in Nebraska. The homemade white gravy was over-salted and tasted out of a jar, unlike the delicious homemade gravy Ron made when it was Red Rooster. Two people at our table said the same about the meatloaf and dark gravy. The gravy was also over-salted and it didn't taste homemade. Service was unusually clunky and we only saw one regular server. Everyone else was new. The decor in the Restaurant was different too. Not bad but just different. I'm hoping this was a one off experience because we really liked the Red Rooster. I'm not sure why the new owners of Route 77 made so many changes to a successful restaurant that was already working well. I hope they figure it out. Last night it was not worth the trip from Lincoln to Ceresco.

The cocktail menu was a little underwhelming for me. I ordered the lychee cocktail, and while it was fine, it wasn't particularly memorable. On the food side, the beef tallow candle was a fun and unique touch. We also ordered the crab escargot, which my husband absolutely loved. For my entrée, I had the Filet Rossini. The wine sauce was the standout and paired great with the pomme purée and a glass of Pinot Noir. My husband ordered the Wagyu New York strip with morels and thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. The restaurant has a classy, upscale aesthetic and definitely feels like a special-occasion destination. It is on the expensive side, but the quality of the food and service generally reflected that. My only real disappointment was that, despite noting our anniversary, there wasn't any special acknowledgment from the restaurant. Even something simple like a handwritten card or small gesture would have made the evening feel a little more memorable. Overall, a very nice dining experience with excellent service, good food, and an elegant atmosphere.

They do have a food menu but for convenience we ordered a burger that they were grilling and selling outdoors. There are many picnic tables and a couple of stages on their large landing outside the main building. Everything seems super clean which is nice, and the folks that work there are very accommodating. I can only comment to the women's restroom, but they are fantastic! Each stall is completely private and well maintained! Always nice! I boated there over Memorial Day weekend, and while they did have bands it was nice that there was no cover. Who does that?!? Just another refreshing part of this newer establishment. They did add gas on their docks for boats which they didn't have last year. Fantastic except on this particular day anyway they did not have dedicated docks for boats that needed gas, but rather they would drag the gas hose over other boats to get to the boat that needed gas. Meanwhile the boat needing gas had to hold on to other docked boats to keep it steady while filling up. Hopefully this will not be a practice they continue as it seemed a bit dangerous and annoying for the owners of the docked boats. Their RV campground seemed full and nice, although it will be even nicer once the newer trees grow enough to actually provide some shade. Welcome back Cottonwood Marina!! So happy it was rebuilt after the flood!
