Well, a month later I needed to wash my zippable covers, so I unzipped everything and later discovered that the cushions smelled like urine. (My friends dog came over and peed on my couch. I didn't know how to clean the large cushions which is why I brought it here in the first place). DO NOT COME HERE!! When I first arrived here to drop off a spring dress, the lady at the counter seemed to have an attitude as soon as I walked in. My dress previously had a stain and I had already attempted to remove it. When the lady saw the dress she said that I should not have washed it and continued to have a rude attitude, very unprofessional. About a week later when I went to pick up my dress, the lady seemed to have remembered me and again told me not to wash it and in a condescending tone said she would charge me more if I washed it again. They cleaned my wedding dress that had not been touched in 14 years and had serious stains at the base of the dress. The owner was lovely, very knowledgable and advised me about the possibilities of how the dress would clean up and what to expect before I went forward with the cleaning. My sister in laws and mother in law recommended this place since they got their wedding dresses altered here. I came to R Cleaners with a lot of alterations that I needed for my dress. All I can say is WOW! I searched for a while to find a dry cleaners capable of cleaning a leather suede coat from the 70's. It's a vintage jacket that belonged to my mother and has some sentimental value to me. Everyplace I called "didn't do leather" or "we can't clean that it's old" or the price was exhorbitant, when I stumbled upon R Cleaners by accident. I shop at the grocery store right next to them, and I had the jacket in my trunk so I figured I'd pop in an ask. The owner was upfront about the cost (which I believe he totally undercharged) and the time it would take to clean the coat. He said they couldn't be responsible for any additional damage as the lining was already torn, and buttons were coming loose. The jacket was in pretty terrible shape and the color was faded and worn. Long story short, these guys are PHENOMENAL! He really spent time bringing this coat back to life, it looks absolutely incredible. When I picked it up I could not believe the color and the detail of the cleaning, literally looks absolutely amazing. I am so happy, they were courteous, honest and they had the jacket done in no time. The store is exceptionally clean and they are very professional. The service was grand! I will not take my rugs, jackets, or cleaning anywhere else. So happy with the service here! These guys are legit, take your dry cleaning here, you won't be sorry. read more

Gave them my leather jacket to fix a zipper and have it cleaned took. Took a week and a half, and it still wasn't ready when I came to pick it up. BEWARE! Well, things were ok for a time but looking back I should have seen the warning signs and stopped coming here. We have been coming here for about 6 months after trying a couple of other (lousy) local cleaners. There were a few times that the laundry came back with the same stains that I brought it with. The owners would always seem pissed but reluctantly wash it again. There was one time my white shirt came back and had yellow all around the edges of the shirt, supposedly from a chemical they use. I had to argue with both of the owners for 10 minutes before finally I gave up and left with my tail between my legs and a yellow white shirt. This time though, should teach you all to NEVER EVER go to this place. I took my beige Anthropologie comforter ($400) in for the third time in a few months as my dog has a habit of coughing up hair balls on it. This time I brought it home and waited for about 3 weeks to open it because we're in the process of moving. When we opened it we were shocked to see big white blotches all over the comforter! It looks as if they poured bleach on multiple spots, not just where the vomit was. Well, long story short, you can imagine how my visit to them went today. They immediately remembered me and the comforter (warning sign) and the owner got very defensive explaining that they washed it thrice and the stain wouldn't come out so they bleached it....ummm.... Really?? Is that standard? Then after a moment she started speaking another language to her husband who was hiding in the back. Then she changed her story. She said they didn't bleach it, only used a pressure washer on the spot where the vomit was. Well, that is fine, if you like to have ruined $400 comforter. However, their story doesn't jive. Why is there 4 big bleach spots on it now? Also, ironically, next to two of the bleached patches, there is still a big red stain! Please, do yourself a favor. Find another dry cleaner. If you do use them, do so with caution. Do not take anything there that you wouldn't mind throwing away. Hope you can see the stains in this Low light photograph. I am so bummed out. read more

I moved back to HB in 2003. I tried several dry cleaners and didn't care for any of them. Then I went to R Cleaners, and I've never left. That has been 14 or 15 years ago! Their prices are competitive, they know their customers and they do everything possible to please the customer. Best dry cleaner I've had either in HB or on the east coast. Highly recommend. Of course, I continue to return because of Mr. Jack, their adorable "watch dog." :-) Also, I was there when Ken (post below) and his wife were parked in front of R Cleaners. They left their car running and the exhaust fumes were going into the cleaners. All the owners did was to ask them if they would mind turning off the car. This set off a string of reactions on their part including the wife even confronting me when I came out. They have a right to park anywhere in the lot - no question, but if the car fumes are bothering someone, why not do the easy and right thing and turn off the car? I have a wedding to go to on Monday, and it being Fourth of July weekend I figured it would be impossible to get my dress shirt cleaned in short notice. They cleaned it in 3 hours! I have to say that I am not a fan of this dry cleaner. We have been going to them for awhile, and have experienced: misc stains/ marks on clothes, and broken buttons. In their defense, they did offer to repair the buttons, but the majority of the stains never came out. I have also gotten items altered there, and was not happy with the end results. I requested for an original hem, and was told, "I am sorry we don't do that stitch for this pant." I am sorry, but when I spend a lot of money on my clothes, and request an original hem, I expect an original hem. In addition, they have told me that a particular item would be ready on a certain date. I went to go pick up the item, and it was not ready. Overall, I would not recommend this place!! read more

I have just recently used R cleaners for alteration and they did a great job. I have a very nice Valentino dress and it was too big for me. The dress is a very delicate and it has some lace parts. Worst experience I have ever had at a dry cleaners. Took 3 expensive suits in for cleaning and noticed that the lapel was not pressed when I picked them up. The lapel was sticking up and not laying flat on any of the suit jackets. When I asked for it to be fixed the man yelled at me and told me that they have the best press in town. He slammed my money on the counter and said go somewhere else and get it pressed. I told him I was shocked he talked to customers this way. Can I give them zero stars? When I went to drop off my item the woman was on the phone and did not get off the phone to interact with me at all. She looked at the tag which said "dry clean only" took the item and handed me a ticket. When my girlfriend went to pick up her coat the fur on it was ruined. I asked if I could just have the thing back at no charge since it was damaged but they told me that they would not give it back unless we paid and held it for ransom. Now my girlfriend will try to replace the fur. We should have never brought it here. The people there were so mean and impolite. Never go there! read more

A "dry clean only" coat came back to me with the stylized faux fur trim destroyed; I didn't get so much as an apology. Instead, I was told that "nobody" told them it was "supposed to look like that" ---although they never called to ask--- and when requesting to return the coat at no charge, they flipped out and threatened to not give back the coat if we didn't pay. An apology would have been nice. They got their $20, but they've lost a lot more in the long run. Great way to treat a regular customer. read more
