The mother is the one that does alterations. I took an expensive dress in there for simple hemming. I tried it on at home and pinned it. She checked when I tried on and we agreed on the hemming. I picked it up and tried it on at home and the slip part was longer than the top of the dress so the hem from the slip was hanging below the top part! In addition the sides were cut higher than the rest making it slant upwards at the side. I went back and took my shoes in too and showed her it was shorter on the sides and longer in the middle. Claims she never touched the sides. I said you did as you had to hem it and ruined the dress. She will redo the hem but it's shorter at the sides. In addition to that she had a really loud voice andad attitude blaming me on her poor work! I do not recommend this place and will not use again. She haggles on pricing and is not up front. I found a better alternative. Do not use this place! It is also not very clean. They also charge ridiculous pricing for minor alternations and dry cleaning. read more

If you are like me and bargain shop, but also require great quality and service at below average price then this is the place for you. I've had my clothes cleaned here for the last five years. This if my favorite cleaners and I will always be a loyal customer. Not only are the prices far below other dry cleaners but my clothes are always so clean and pressed perfectly. They are always friendly and service and turnaround time is quick. They typically just clean my work shirts and pants, but I have also had my bed comforter cleaned with them as well and again the price is extremely fair and always turns out smelling fresh and clean. This place is the worst service the lady has a bad attitude towards customers. She has no respect for others. I have gone to the city to complain about this shop many times . She is racist towards others . I've seen this woman taking videos and pictures of people cars and has made hand written messages threatening people not to park . I went in there to pick up an item that was not available when originally promised. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the daughter and mother start yelling at each other in Vietnamese for at least a minute. I've been going to this cleaner for at least 25 years. I needed some minor repairs on some couch covers, and they took care of it for me for a very reasonable price.

My zipper broke on my new jacket. I took it in as well as my suits to get cleaned, but mostly to see if they could repair the zipper. Unfortunately she showed me why it couldn't be fixed. However, she could replace it. Since the jacket was relatively new, I said okay. The cost, $20. I picked it up a week later and it looked and worked great. It looks like it's the original zipper on the jacket. I was very pleased. I love supporting local small businesses, especially when they do great work. I'll definitely be back. read more

I'm amazed at the 5 stars this place received. Maybe I went on an off day? IDK, but I definitely did not get the same customer service as everyone else. The normal dry cleaning place I go to is near seal beach, but I decided to try Jade's cause of the great reviews and that it was closer. Here's how it went down: Walked in, young girl behind counter doesn't greet me or anything Me: Hi Her: .... Me: uhh I have 2 peacoats I need dry cleaned Her: Writes down on paper, grabs coats. They'll be done Thursday (about 2 days from when I dropped it off) Me: ok, thanks! (smiles) Her: Turns away and pretends to be busy and doesn't say bye Yeah then I call in Wed (accidentally thought wed was thurs) and luckily the girl said the coats are already done and that I could pick it up. I was surprised (wonder if they even did dry clean it). Anyway I went to pick it up and still didn't receive any greeting/customer service whatsoever. Price for 2 coats was about $16 which isn't cheap. The only thing saving the place from a 2 star rating is that this time when I left, the girl said quietly (and in a way like she didn't want to) "thanks have a nice day." My coats seemed clean. This place is a complete rip off. I came here because of convenience, it is so close to my house. I came in to get a pair of jeans hemmed and taken in a little bit at the ankle. Super simple. I also asked her if she could lower the waist of the pants a little, something I have done many times, she said she will see what she could do. I came back on a Saturday to pick up my jeans and it cost me $24!! I was shocked. I asked her if she was able to lower the waist and she told me no, her mom said she wouldn't do it for me. I asked why it cost me $24 for them to hemm my pants. She gave me so much attitude, I couldn't believe it. I paid and left. I was so disappointed on how they treat their customers. I will definitely never go back. I was talking to a friend about my experience and she said the same thing I did. The place is a total rip off. Going through my closet I found five pairs of pants I'd owned for months (understatement) that still had their tags but I couldn't wear them because I'm too short even with my monster heels. I finally gave in and admitted I was never going to hem them myself so I was in search of a local place to have them altered. LOVE LOVE Jade She does an amazing job and prices...even better! I used to go to this dry cleaner by my work..charged $36 to clean my comforter.. Jade charges me $9 (unless I ask for extra cleaning then it's $15.. but stil a great deal). I had a terrible experience here. The owner was rude from the moment I entered; she didn't greet me and had her back turned for a long time before she got around to acknowledging my order. I had a stain on a Cal King comforter. She refused to wash it, stating the stain would never come out. That said, I told her it needed to be washed, regardless of whether the stain came out, in a commercial size washer. She refused to do so and again turned her back on me. Decent place to get dry cleaning or alterations done quickly. Jade's Cleaners is literally down the street from home, so it definitely is convenient coming here. Last time I went, I came to have a botched alterations job of a dress done by another tailor fixed. She was able to fix my dress in less than 10 minutes and I only had to pay $5. She was also really nice about it to and made small talk. The inside is sort of overwhelming, kind of cluttered. There also isn't much seating while you wait for your clothes as well. Jade's Cleaners is located near Lucky Paws grooming. All in all, her prices were pretty fair, depending on what kind of alterations or cleaning you need done. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. The owners are extremely rude and incompetent in their own trade. My dad had his pants altered by these people, but the alterations fell apart at the seams within 2 weeks. Since this business is so close to my home, I decided to give them another chance for the sake of convenience. I needed to get my clothes dry cleaned and was told it would take until Tuesday. I simply asked them if it was possible to have it done by the end of the day. Clearly, these elderly folks don't understand the definition of customer service or simple politeness. They were so irritated by my question that rather answering me, they took back my ticket and handed me back my clothes. I was so confused at first, having not gotten an answer.. so I asked again - is it possible to have it done by the end of the day -- to which the lady answered answered with a straight up "No". TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! If I could rate negative stars I would. I have been going here for almost 2 DECADES! If you need a simple dry clean they're fine, but the place across the street in the Rite-Aid shopping center is better for the same price, MUCH BETTER! Came here to get a gown tailored for a family wedding, and she completely ripped off all the lace and when I told them and before I had a chance to say where they ripped it, the daughter accused me saying that if it was on the train of the dress then I ripped it when I walked. I told her it WASNT on the train but instead on entire side of the dress and she got defensive. She wanted to charge me $75 for a bad tailoring job and I told her that's absurd especially since it wasn't even fitted correctly AND she ripped a $500 gown. I am really disappointed at having to write this update. I went back to Jade's as I do at the end of every quarter, with a pile of dresses and blouses, most of which she'd cleaned for me before. This time, however, Jade wasn't there, her husband was. He quoted me a RIDICULOUS price for the same sequined dress that I've been getting done at Jade's for over a year and a half now. When I argued and said that this was not the price I paid last time, he immediately dropped it by $5 (but still wasn't anywhere close to the $5 I had been paying for it). I also had a long bridesmaid's dress that needed to be cleaned- he started at $30 and ended at $15. He did not get my business that day because I try to avoid dealing with scammers and liars who try to squeeze you for all you're worth. Sorry Jade- kick your rude hubby out, bring your prices back down to earth, and I'll be happy to make the 15 minute drive to bring you my piles of clothes. read more

I just picked up my dress shirts from this place. I read in other reviews that the people there aren't very friendly, but I figured I can deal with that as long as they can clean my clothes right. Well, one of my dress shirts has a small food stain that I pointed out at the time of drop off. My first clue that it wouldn't be cleaned right came when the older man behind the counter put the little red tape on it in a place nowhere near the stain. I removed the marker and placed it next to the stain. Lo and behold, today I picked up my shirts and when I got home I saw the stain on my shirt was still there. I'm not going to go back and ask for a re-do. I'm just not going to go back there at all. read more

I came this place to get dry cleaning my clothes years, as a regular customer. I think this business starts going down now. They kept making my clothes damaged very badly. They first made my T shirt wrinkled caused by over heating of dry cleaning machine. I sympathized and thought that maybe it just a mistake they accidentally made. My T shirt was luxurious brand name. I couldn't wear it anymore. And, I still came back for dry cleaning. But, the second time, they made my fur sweater out of shape in the front. That was 100% rabbit fur. And, I really liked my sweater that is why I brought it for dry clean. I showed them, they was trying to hide their mistakes and said multiple ways claimed on me back that Why I didn't tell them? It's ridiculous. That's your business, your job you are supposed to know what you are doing to make the best service. Just told that is the real fur and charged me more, I didn't mind it. I care my clothes that's why I bring them for dry clean. And I don't mind to pay extra money for that. And because that was one of my favorite clothes I wear every time winter comes. And, my another blouse has a hole after picking up just found out now. Too disappointed with this place. Now I found the new one and it's better. Yes, they're dirt cheap but it comes at a price. The service starts wonderfully in the beginning but after about the sixth drop off, I started noticing mistakes. One of my dress shirts had a hole ripped where the cuff seam meets the sleeve. Another blouse had a small hole ripped in the front panel. It seemed like these holes were made from someone roughly draping the shirts over the mannequin (for steaming). And SEVERAL times buttons were broken or ripped off. I can understand a button here and there getting chipped, but there were so many buttons being massacred I finally said something and the owner essentially said "too bad, so sad, there's nothing we can do for you." read more

Does it bug you when you try to pick up your dry cleaning and alterations and they've lost it? Yes, me too. But the worst thing is deliberate rudeness in your face and not being able to get your money back for a job not done! Thieves do exist. My simple summer dress only needed to have the simple straps shortened, not a big deal she said. $3.00, fine. I paid in advance. A week later, it was not there. Two weeks later, it still was "lost." Three weeks later, I followed her rude husband to the back rack and he said it was not there. But guess what? There was my dress in all it's glorious blue, orange and white, but the straps were not done! It was badly hand sewn so that you can see the big uneven gaps between stitches, and horrors of all horrors, the extra material on the straps were not cut off! I have a photo where you can see the extra 8 inches of material on both sides of the straps just flopping out from the back of the dress! The girl who was on duty tried to make up a silly excuse for her boss's sloppiness....."maybe it's because later, you can adjust it." Oh Really? And all the while, the rude old husband kept jabbering vehemently in Vietnamese and laughing at me as I asked for my husband's suit which he could not find until I told him I was not leaving until he got it. He finally did get it out for me. No refund for the terrible job on the dress......the "smiling faces tell lies" Jade Cleaners people will gladly take your money, talk trash at you and laugh all the way to the bank! read more

I moved a few years ago and now live 15 miles away and I still make a trip every week because I'll only take my dry cleaning to Jade. She and her husband a really friendly and professional. My only bit of advice is discuss any alterations, etc with Jade directly as she'll be doing the work herself and her husband will just be passing along the message and it could get lost in translation. I hate to give them this review but I have to agree with the other reviews that their customer service is the worst I have ever seen at a dry cleaners. I was used to their abnormally rude behavior but they were fairly priced and were close to my work so I used them as they seemed decent. But like others have mentioned, if you have an actual stain or spot on your clothes, there is very little chance they will actually be able to clean it so I guess you get what you pay for. On my last visit, the older man had finally become some rude and mean and my shirts were so dirty after they washed them that I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I have been using this cleaner and most especially their seamstress for alterations and custom work for more than 6 years. Extremely reasonable prices and wonderful, caring customer service. The alterations are better than those done by expensive tailors that I have used. Fit is perfect. In addition to the alterations I have had done she did an incredible job of recovering all the cushions for my outdoor furniture; The fit and appearance of the cushions when they were completed was more impressive than their original appearance when they were purchased from Rogers' Gardens. I have recommended many people to Jade's Cleaners and all of them have thanked me for the references and were extremely happy with the work, prices, and most of all the alterations/sewing service.
