Friendly enough establishment. What bothers me is that I've had a handful of times where, after cleaning, my clothes have a wet rag/dog smell!!!! I've had issues in my youth where I forget my laundry in the washing machine over night and they develop a smell. This is the same smell!!!!!! I don't need to feel conscious about stinking like wet rags! Ugh so annoying. I made them re-clean the items before but this is gettin annoying. What is in the cleaning chemicals?????!!!!! read more

My first time here was good, but my second and last time was not. They left my coat in a worse condition. It smelled really bad, like worse than sweaty clothes several days old from the gym. When I picked up my coat, I didn't notice right away because they kept a plastic bag over it. I left the plastic with them to reuse, but when I drove 1 block out, the stench filled up the entire vehicle. I tried to air it out for a few days before calling the place, and they told me to bring it back in for a redo. After dropping it off and picking it up again, I noticed that the smell still lingered but it wasn't as strong. I aired it out for a few more days before giving up and tossing it in the washing machine. So much for dry cleaning and re-dry cleaning. It's hard to see past this experience, even though they did a decent, mess-free job the first time. I am not coming back to a place where quality control seems to be an issue. read more

Berc and his family have taken care of my weekly dry cleaning and laundry for over 28 years. We even get our special sewing jobs done here and all our cleaning has been done right the whole time!! No issues ever. Do not understand any of the negative comments made. Berc goes over BACKWARDS to make sure all spots, stains and issues are addressed. If they do not come out he tells you so with a tag and also this industry has undergone many changes due to environmental issues which he complies with. Not easy in this day and in this state!! I used to go to Kona Cleaners down the street, but they were way too expensive. I think it was $2 to launder a shirt. Lucky Cleaners is the cheapest cleaners I've found in the area at $1.75 per shirt. Considering I drop off up to 10 shirts at a time, that equals huge savings each visit. Lucky Cleaners is a family run business and their employees are always super friendly. They don't have the fancy barcode tracking system like at Kona, but they still do a great job. For tracking, Lucky's will staple a piece of fabric with a serial number on it onto your garments. But don't worry, they have never lost any of my clothes. Also, they repair missing buttons on shirts for FREE! You just have to ask them, or if they notice it before you do, they'll go ahead and fix it. Pretty awesome. They accept credit cards, but there is a small surcharge for transactions under $10. read more

I've probably had over 100 cotton shirts and wool slacks dry cleaned here over the course of 2 years. When it comes to dry-cleaning I have a hard time deciding the amount of stars I should give, but here's my reasoning for 5 stars: Never has anything come out weird, damaged, or not perfectly pressed. That's pretty much it. The prices are normal for a dry-cleaning place. read more

We've lived in HB for over 25 years and do our best to support our local family owned businesses. We had heard good things about Lucky Cleaners and needed a new local dry cleaner+ and love it! Jimmy is second generation and his family has been in the business locally since the 80's... Honest, fair and nice work. Easy in and out for d/off and p/up too!! It's nice to have a service we can trust for those little emergency "saves" when I think I've ruined a fave article of my family's clothes... We had been going to another Cleaner (VIP on Adams) for 18 plus years and the owners were like family... When I didn't see either of our friends, I asked where they were and if they were okay? The new owner told me at that time he just "helping out his cousin". I was concerned for the health of the previous owners and after a couple more visits, he fessed up that he had bought it. So he flat out lied. Just wish he had been straight with me. So that's the end of that relationship... Happy I found Lucky and looking forward to another long business friendship read more

This place is the BEST! A small, family-owned, eco-friendly and wonderfully priced dry cleaner that rescued my silk georgette wedding dress from set-in cranberry stains! I thought my dress was going to be a lost-cause. Other cleaners quoted me ridiculously high fees (in the hundreds of dollars) and no guarantee that they could get the stain out. It was a real bummer, since I'd hoped to donate my dress to a deserving bride-to-be, so someone else could enjoy it as much as I had. After searching on Yelp, I found Lucky Cleaners, and I'm so lucky that I did! Berc, the owner, told me about his extensive knowledge and experience, and assured me he would do everything he could to restore my dress. WOW. My fiancé and I have given this place SO much money and the son is a rude person. First a year ago they ruined my fiancé's suit never said sorry and the son basically told him it wasn't his problem.. then they told me it would cost $70 to dry clean 6 table cloths when I got there they said $100.. he was so rude when I questioned basically told Me To leave my table cloths or pay and didn't answer my question. This cleaners is a family operated business. The 'Father' is the sweetest guy ever. He goes above and beyond to please his clients. I dropped off my wedding dress in near tears, as I didn't think ANYTHING would get the stains acquired from an AMAZING night. He smiled and assured me that he would work 'extra hard' on my dress to have it ready for a second wedding (I have family in another country and was flying out a week later). I am so happy with this cleaners' service!! From my first phone call, the owner was sweet and willing to help. I had a straw hat with a wine stain on it and had called 3 other cleaners before finding Lucky and nobody had even the slight bit of interest in helping me, it was just a flat "No, sorry. We can't do that." The owner told me to come on by and made my hat look just like new. What's even better is that he told me he wasn't going to charge me since it was just a spot clean. I had a horrible experience with them! It took a month for my wedding dress to be cleaned. I got quoted in person (with them seeing my dress and its detail/ how dirty is was in person) for one price $130-$170 maximum and then when I picked up they tried to charge me $215. That's ridiculous! I had to argue with them for awhile for them to follow the quote they gave me originally and charge me $170 max. They gave me attitude, tried to get me to put a money deposit on them cleaning my dress (Hello! I'm leaving/ trusting you with my expensive couture wedding gown... That is a deposit in of itself!!), took 1 month when other places quoted a week and a half, and then they tried to overcharge me! I will NEVER be back and would convince people I know not to go there. read more

I dropped off my clothes on Wednesday & was told to pick up on Saturday, but needed them on Friday. The person at the counter accommodated me and had them all ready by 11am. I came in because I needed my Cap and Gown steamed before graduation. It came out of the package with the typical fold wrinkles and instructions to just simply hang on a hanger. Unsure what I wanted or needed to be done Lucky Cleaners assured me they could help. The wonderful man behind the counted explained to me that he would steam it and that I was correct, hanging it up would have not been enough. I am so excited that I will not be a wrinkled mess when I cross the stage now. Planning on bringing all my cleaning here now. They even have two parking spots saved in the small lot so you can be sure to find parking. LOVE IT! read more

The owner lost my $95 dress shirt and has nothing to show for it. No compensation, no replacement coupon, no discounts on future business, not even an apology. Literally, Nothing. He and especially his son are completely out to lunch, merely falling back on 'But we're a 30 year old family run business!' as a response to any complaint. Perhaps doing things the same way for 3 decades might be a *bad* thing when it clearly results in taking customers for granted. Save yourself such unwanted risks and pay a bit more for a modicum of professionalism and thoroughness. I remain unequivocally appalled at this business and its owners. read more

I recently flew into Huntington Beach just days before my wedding. I bought my dress in Chicago and it did not travel well. I took it Lucky for cleaning and steaming with the minor demand of a 36 hour turn-around period (mind you my wedding dress was as giant and princessy as they come). Jimmy took care of me and they cleaned and steamed my dress to perfection. I am not kidding when I say that it looked better than it ever had, even at the first fitting!!
