Always a fan of shopping locally, I've always been trying to find a decent place where I could find a solid selection of Craft Beers but also the general stuff like Sodas and Chips. Most importantly a place where they aren't overcharging. I happened to venture into RJ Liquors, looking to bring some drinks to the party I was attending - certainly glad I did. As I made my way down the left side of the store, instantly was greeted with some cold treats and there on the shelf was Firestone and Walker. One of my favorite breweries. During Covid my buddy and I used to order directly from the brewery - and found some absolute gems in the world of craft beers. Our favorite hands down was Parabola, it's the perfect Stout. RJ's had a pretty decent stock available, but that was when I started to look around - and noticed a very solid selection of Craft Beers. Making it one of the first stops when shopping for gifts. What I think make RJ's so wonderful is the general vibe of the place. It's well lite, and very organized and super inviting. The employees are always friendly and willing to help you find what you are looking for. They also have a great selection of other drinks, we recently discovered the wonders of Mela. Which has been our go to drink whenever we are doing a bunch of yard work - a truly refreshing beverage. I also get my Propane Canisters here. I'm very glad that I found RJ's as it has become one of my regular stops. read more

Have to admire the level of customer service provided by Justin. He helped me with my selection of specific brandy that I was searching for over the phone and put effort into getting back to me on inventory carried. Appreciated the fact that he communicated effectively and swiftly. Competitive pricing as well! read more

Great selection of wines and beers. How f-ing ever the price listed doesn't match what the cash register rings up. After realizing the discrepancy after a few transactions I told the guy behind the counter about. He shrugged it off saying the prices increased in the beginning of the year and they haven't gotten around to updating them. Funny how they updated the prices on their point of sale system but couldn't let the customers know. Total RIP-OFF and very unethical as far as I'm concerned. "PRICES" review vs. Starshine Market (closest). RJ loses big time. I encourage you to compare yourself. Personally, we were trying to give our two tweens an alternative to starshine where they could ride their bikes to. One example. Large bag of Takis. Starshine $2.99 RJ $6 We get it, it's a convenience store. Prices are not gonna be like a super market. But there were enough items that were double at RJ that we moved on. Doesn't look like much from the outside. Not many liquor stores do, but all it takes is cleanliness and impeccable organization and I'm wildly impressed; they've got that in spades. As soon as I walked in - Niiiiyeeece. Didn't browse everything but they seem to have a good selection on all ... this morning was my first visit so can't really speak to the consistency of customer service but damn it's a pretty store (and clean!) This place advertises items they do not carry on Uber eats and attempts to force you to purchase other items. When you reject their substitution they charge you a $25 restocking fee. This store deserves a one-star review for allowing this to happen. read more

I am updating my review after a couple of incidents with the very unfriendly owner. I was refused service due to my review in a very confrontational and rude way. The owner could have engaged in a discussion and I would have changed or removed my review. A friend of my son was accused of stealing which is absolutely absurd knowing him and the family. There are a number of much better options nearby with friendly staff and way better stores with food and an actual deli Bay Ho Liquor, Starshine Liquor, Food Mart next to Krispy Kreme and of course Vons. If you are already a customer, you know the rudeness I and talking about. Take your money elsewhere to a place you are appreciated. Went down the street with kids to get an ice cream treat. We go often because they have a great selection and they're cheaper than the creepy ice cream truck. Anyway we were walking homeland one of my kids' bomb pops broke in half and fell on the ground. I took her back to get another because we hadn't got far, and the guy just gave it to her for free. They are always nice and have lots to offer but today was extra good service and made my daughter grin from ear to ear. read more

We are so happy that there is a market in the neighborhood. We walk there at least once a week for a family treat, usually for ice cream, cookies and milk bones. It has been beautifully renovated and is always clean and bright. The staff is always very nice. read more

What a bummer, have been coming to this place for ten years off and on. My gfriend came in this morning (it was a Saturday so no judgey) and he said she was too intoxicated to buy liquor. Uhhh...she hadn't even had a drink. She wears eyeglasses and did not have them on so asked for something to be pointed out and apparently that triggered him. Embarrassed the hell out of her. I'll stick with BayHo, a little more pricey but they are worth it and those guys are top notch. Disrespect my broad and you lose my biz! read more

I think they're open till 11 usually, a plus. They get some pretty decent beers here, occasionally a rare one like Ballast Point Victory at Sea. My rating is purely based on beer selection and customer service. Cool enough guys. What else can I say. R J is a solid little neighborhood liquor store. They have a bunch of decent bottles of wine and a fantastic beer selection, including a great variety of craft brews. A great little neighborhood liquor store with a large variety domestic, foreign and local beer. I love that they have Not Your Father's Root Beer in the cold case. They also have your basic snack foods like candies and chips. If you run out of milk, pop on down and grab some. read more

RJ Liquor has the nicest guys behind the counter. But a fairly new employee, a guy younger than the others is extremely unfriendly., never says welcome, thank you or even pretends to enjoy contact with the public. For the owners, he was working the evening of Aug 4th, but I have, unfortunatety, had experienced this tool of a guy before. It's a shame that RJs has this blemish in an otherwise great neighborhood liquor store. I would give five stars if it weren't for him. read more

In my experience, this little local business is a gem in our neighborhood. The owners and employees are friendly, helpful, and caring. Excellent wine selection at reasonable prices. Good selection of basics (milk, cheese, pasta sauce, snacks, sweets, etc.) -- the stuff you forget at the supermarket ... or have a craving for midweek. You can read my other reviews. I am very fair. This liquor store is in business because they are the only local option and that's it. Today was Saturday and I wanted to have some drinks with my friends; period. My hope was to get intoxicated. I am well over 21 years old, live right next door, and wasn't driving. I had three vodka Red Bulls watching the game and then went to RJs to get a couple of tall cans to continue enjoying my Saturday. I was denied the purchase because I "smelled like alcohol." No shit guy; that's the whole deal. I caused no scene, spoke to no one, showed my ID before I was prompted and, like I said, was neither driving nor overly intoxicated (3 drinks I'm serious). How embarrassing; they ruined my Saturday. I will, FOREVER, drive with a greater than .08 alcohol level to Vons before I go into RJs and give them a dollar of my money. Everyone will still go there because it is the only place in town but I never will. What rude people. I've watched these guys sell to obviously drunk tweekers and they denied me two tall cans on a Saturday when I literally did nothing wrong. They will never get one more dollar of my money... I'm so hammered that I don't need spell or grammar check!!!!!!! read more
