Once again, a fantastic sandwich from Ivonne (I believe that's her name--she's the wonderful lady who always makes my order). I'm genuinely happy every time I see her there because it guarantees an outstanding experience. This is a true local gem in Mission Beach--great for pretty much everything you need at the beach. The owner is awesome, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and it has that genuine neighborhood vibe that's hard to find. I've been a regular customer since I moved to the area last fall. I normally pop in to buy wine and beer but last night I was so hungry and I knew they have sandwiches. When I got there they had just turned off the oven but very kindly agreed to turn it back on for me. Then proceeded to make me the most amazing Italian sub! Hidden gem in Mission Beach. The deli is awesome with great sandwiches and tons of customizable options. Discounts on everything for using cash over card. Just a 1 minute walk from either the bay or the ocean, it's the most reasonably priced grab and go snack around. The chips are pricier than your average shop but they have super interesting flavors and a wide selection. Clean, low key, friendly and fast service. Must try Deli! Came here with the family before going to the Beach and it was a much-needed stop. I got two sandwiches because the Beach makes me extra hungry, especially after I go swimming. The first sandwich I got was the pastrami point and it was amazing. Good quality meat. Second sandwich was the albacore, tuna, cold, and refreshing. My buddy got the Mission Boulevard, which is loaded with roast beef, pastrami, and bacon. And I even got an açai bowl, which was amazing. My other buddy got smoothies and chips because this deli is located in a convenient store. And we got a cooler full of cold beers from their beer cave. The people who made our sandwiches were nice and the cashier was friendly. Definitely stopping here every time. I'm in the area. read more

It is newly renovated, and we are stoked that they now have a deli and also serve Thrifty's Ice Cream and shakes :) Their selection of snacks, beverages, and convenience items are perfect for people visiting for the weekend and for those that live close by. I've been waiting 2 years for HUB's remodel, specifically for their deli to open up. I'm a connoisseur of sandwiches and have been slowing down due to price gouging and smaller portions everywhere you go. Hands down HUB liquor & Deli crushes it. Not only are the sandwiches delicious, they are packed with quality meats and vegetables.....Best of all....they are affordable! My personal favorite is the Hot Pastrami however they set out samples once in a while and now I want to try them all. Also, even though Mission Blvd is busy, HUB has a parking lot for pick ups! Super convenient store, very friendly employees, great selection and the prices were comparable to any other store (we did not find them to be inflated at all). I was itching for a bomber of good California beer, so we walked back from Pacific Beach via Mission Blvd. The first 2 places we tried didn't have bombers, so we crossed the street and went to Hub. They had a special on Left Coast beer so I got two. An IPA and a tangerine wheat. Plus they were on sale for $5.99 for 2. Score. The guy checking us out was super nice, greeted us, thanked us, and gave us a plastic bag when he noticed we were walking. Very cool. Pretty solid selection on bombers too. Great go-to place if you're in the area and need something. I say "something" because this place has a great selection of items - not just adult beverages. Milk, eggs, butter, snacks of all types, ice, kites, and even Fidget Spinners! Prices are moderate, but that's just because of the area - everything costs a bit more around the beaches. Things have been rough for all of us store owners since the liquor ban on the beach, it affects local business sales. We don't even sell booze and it affect us as well. Very poor customer service. My boyfriend and I live in the area and used to stop sometimes on the way home from the gym. Well, we won't be stopping in ever again. One morning last week we were out and both my boyfriend and I decided we needed a pick me up. We stopped in to Hub Liquor to buy a few energy drinks and a few other odds and ends. When we pulled in I changed my mind and went to the cafe next door to grab a coffee to go. My boyfriend went in to Hub Liquor and purchased about $15 worth of merchandise. As the clerk was handing him his change he said "you need to move your car, this is a ticketing area." WTF he was a paying customer! Plus, our car was the ONLY car in the lot. By this time i was already back from getting my coffee. Bottom line: the clerk wanted to tow the car because I went next door even though my boyfriend was a paying customer at Hub Luquor.
