I've been to this store several times over the years -- both as a customer and as a delivery driver. The vibe has always been cold, but my most recent visit was completely unacceptable. I walked in calmly to pick up a DoorDash order, showed my ID, and asked the cashier, "What's my age?" -- nothing rude, just a simple question. The man sitting next to the cashier (who I believe is the owner) jumped in and said, "What does it matter?" Then without warning, he said, "You have two options -- take the order and leave, or leave the order and get out." When I asked why he was talking to me like that, he snapped, called me a smartass, and kicked me out in front of customers. I never raised my voice, never cursed, never disrespected anyone. After I reported the incident to DoorDash, the store lied and claimed I was "harassing" an employee -- which is completely false and unprofessional. I've been driving professionally for over 12 years, with 14,000+ Uber trips and 4,000+ DoorDash deliveries, and this is the first time I've ever been thrown out of a store like that. There's no excuse for this kind of behavior -- especially from a business that relies on delivery drivers to move their product. Jimbo's is one of the best Liquor stores I have seen with a local, domestic and international craft beer selection. They have such a good selection that it is often hard to just pick one (six pack or type). I love the quality of the selection, organized by type of beer. They even have a large selection of kombucha beers, as well. Great spot for finding new beers that you've never seen before. read more

This place is awesome! To start, the guys who work here are very friendly and helpful, once I was buying NA beer and the cashier pointed that out just so I wasn't disappointed if I wanted regular beer. Second, the selection here is great! Every place in San Diego is going to have IPA's but here you can find a great selection of stouts, reds, lagers, Belgians, etc. lots of local and uncommon beers. One of my favorite things here is the singles beer fridge where you can buy just one to try without buying the whole 4 or 6 pack. I don't really spend too much time in the hard alcohol section but prices look decent. They also have a good selection of wine and grocery items/snacks (chips, sodas, ice cream. Etc). Jimbos is clean, well organized, and has all the latest adult beverages. They have the best prices on Gatorade and Craft beer. Keith and Nick are the owners and they treat you like family. Keith is the mean uncle and Nick is the fun cousin . I love these guys. Its always fun going in there and they can educate you on their selections. My sister and her boyfriend were in town visiting and he was searching high and low for Pliny the Elder. After about 20 phone calls and several store runs, we decided it just wasn't happening. It was Valentine's Day weekend so they went out to dinner. In the meantime, my boyfriend and I stumble upon Jimbo's. Not only do they have Pliny the Elder but they gave us a look like "of course we do, how many?" SO STOKED. We purchased a few bottles and were able to surprise my sister and her boyfriend when they got back from their date night. Since then, Jimbo's has been our #1 spot for craft beer. They always have the best selection and often we spend 20 minutes just deciding what we want in there. This place is literally a dream come true. I am very surprised at the high reviews for this store and it's employees. At one time, the local liquor store was a friendly place and that offered good service and were grateful for your patronage. These guys are rude, apathetic and since they are the only liquor store in the area, they seem to think they have the market cornered and do not have to be hospitable. I went in and asked if they carried a specialty liquor. The guy responds snidely that they did not have it and did I want anything else. I said, "No thanks, don't worry about it". And the little man behind the counter responds "I won't". Really? Well, it's a liquor store, just like any other. I am giving them 1 star for three reasons. First, they charge $0.75 for atm/debet purchases. That, inandof itself is not a big deal, but the fact that they do not post the charge, nor inform you of it ahead of time is outrageous and uncalled for. At least post a sign stating your atm/credit fees, or do like AMPM does and make you agree to it. Don't just tack it on and 'hope' the customer doesn't notice, and then be a jerk when called out on it! Second, they charge double the price for a stamp. Again, while not illegal, it is just outrageous. Especially when they don't tell you ahead of time how much it will cost. Third, while they do have a great sellection of wonderful beers, all of the beers are old and skunky! They store them under fluorescent lights (which kills beers), and they are poorly rotated as stock. I would never go to this place again! read more

This place is really overpriced and only has a so so selection of whiskeys. You can go to a Ralph's and buy liquor much cheaper then this place.
