I have a confession. I'm actually a gorilla. A hairy, smelly, nose-picking primate that occasionally longs to be less hairy and less smelly. I have no experience here with their massage or acupuncture or any other services - these four stars are strictly for waxing. My skin can be crazy sensitive but the product used here is wonderful. Arms, legs, you name it, fast, friendly, and reasonably priced, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else! What a relaxing morning at the spa. Everything was calm and soothing. From the outside this place looks small. Once inside your realize it keeps going and going, and there are multiple levels with lots of private rooms. The front desk staff was friendly and fast. They addressed me personally and took the time to make sure I was comfortable and settled in. If you are going for waxing ask for Megan. She's great and really cares about what she does. If you are going to relax get the 60 minute foot massage. It was heaven. I was almost falling asleep by the end of it. read more

My sister and I are now HUGE fans of Ra. Wow. We had a little hiccup our first time here - to make kind of a long, crappy story very short, the masseuse was running late and communication was not so good. I was there at 16 weeks into my pregnancy for my first prenatal massage experience - my sister had gifted me with a relaxation day after life threw some major fun my way (see sarcasm) so the experience really had some major expectations behind it. They ended up comping me a 30 minute massage since time had run out. It wasn't handled so great at first but then I responded to a follow up email from the owner and after I explained what had happened, he immediately got in touch with me and tried to remedy the situation. He was great. He was kind and apologetic and seemed genuinely interested in making sure I cam back for a good experience. He offered for my sister and I both to come back at no cost and retry the spa. He told me to contact him whenever we were ready to come back and he would set everything up. My sister and I went back yesterday - I had a pregnancy massage (I am now 28 weeks) and she had the shiatsu, which she fell in love with at our last visit. All I can say is... WOW. I have had a lot of massages in my life and I have had half a dozen in my pregnancy, and I can honestly say that the massage I received yesterday was the best massage in my entire life. My sister whole-heartedly agreed. My masseuse was Pah (I am unsure on the spelling) and she was lovely. The room was perfectly dim and warm and smelled lovely. Sliding into the sheets on the bed was like sliding into butter - they were the softest sheets I have ever experienced. In a pregnancy massage, you are laying on your side using a body pillow for support - some places just don't get the pillow configuration down right but it was perfect here. The massage was the perfect intensity, speed and depth. The oils were warm and the whole thing was exquisite. She did some work with hot stones on my back, too, which was heavenly! Also, when she had me turn to my back in the end, Ra is the ONLY place that has propped me up with pillows women past their first trimester aren't supposed to lay flat on their backs for baby safety. I was so impressed with that. The spa itself isn't large but it is tranquil and soothing. It is co-ed so don't be surprised when you pass a man in the hallway. The dressing areas are pretty small but they are adequate. The bathrooms/shower rooms are lovely. The showers are large and open - they do provide shampoo/conditioner/bodywash but no styling products so don't forget to bring your own. There isn't a ton of space for waiting and relaxing before or after so I wouldn't plan to spend the day there with a book or anything but they do have hot tea, cucumber water, cut up melon, bananas and apples, and a lovely atmosphere. Even with the rocky beginning I had there, the owner, Chris Haas, showed exemplary customer service and my return experience totally negated any sort of badness that happened before. I have spent the day in spas with more perks, I suppose - larger, more stocked dressing areas, quiet rooms, etc. - but Ra more than makes up for it with the actual quality of the massage. The masseuses are the best I have ever experienced - shee shee spas all over the world be damned - and I will 100% be back at Ra when I need that ultimate massage. I went to RA Organics for a much-needed massage. I had the pleasure of having the massage done by Jade. She was extremely nice and gave me the best massage I have ever had. I told her I had back pain and arm pain and she knew just what to do to make me feel better. I went here for a Brazilian wax and now I know the difference between a good and a bad wax. This place is GOOD! You know that when they turn on the little fluorescent lamp to get a better look at your goods, they're gonna do a thorough job! Not one sprout was left. Not only that, it wasn't very painful. The last place I went to took my breath away with each pull because you could feel the hair getting yanked out, but here, I barely felt it at all-- it just felt like they were pulling scotch tape off of your skin. This wax also doesn't leave those big red bumps like that the other place used to give me. The first 2 days after getting waxed at Flirt Salon made me look like I had some kind of freaky STD! Changed my mind about this place. After I posted my review the company reached out to me and offered me another massage. It was really good and I really appreciate the extra mile they go to make there clients happy. Some of the best customer service here that I have ever had. Just wanted to say that the last therapist I had may have been perfect for some one else but sometimes your body just isn't getting what it needs due to a variety of different reasons. Maybe your having a bad day, or the therapist isn't on that day. This is the most amazing spa I've ever been to. Everyone is so friendly to you and even offer you complimentary tea, water, and fruit! Yum! Not to mention amazing spas, showers, foot massages, thai massages, and the swedish massage which is amazing! I got my eyebrows done and decided to opt for a massage and it was such an amazing decision. The prices are a bit high but honestly... they're worth it. After you handsomely tip your specialist, you could be walking out spending maybe $160 but you get an hour swedish, 30 minute foot, and an eyebrow wax. Not too shabby. Just had a day long treatment at this gorgeous spa and although it was slightly overpriced as well as the price not being well stated on the website for couples packages, it was an overall incredible experience! From the various amenities including comfortable flip flops, spacious and clean personal restrooms complete with a shower, spa robes, delicious tea and fresh fruit it was the overall A- List spa experience. When my boyfriend and I arrived for our couples spa day we were immediately escorted to a seating room, offered tea, then to the changing area where we changed into robes and were offered to relax in a relaxing salt lamp room, tea room, or sauna by the best staff. We had three treatments and the massage was by far the most amazing spa treatment I have ever had with amazing technicians who knew every spot of tension. I by far recommend including a hot stone massage treatment & organic facial. Although some services were overpriced the overall experience made it worth it. Can't wait to be back! read more

I had just worked 11 days in a row and needed to take care of myself very badly. I called on Thursday and was set for an hour and half Swedish massage and an hour facial the next day on Friday at 5pm. The spa entrance is nice and small. But, once behind the door you enter an oasis. Dark hallways lit by candlelight. Little nooks for waiting areas with spa water and fresh fruit. Several bathrooms for showers. An upstairs locker room. I really enjoyed the ambiance waiting for my masseuse to come get me. I arrived 20 minutes early, like I was asked since I hadn't been there before. And, then I was brought back to the locker room to undress and put on a robe in preparation for massage. I felt like I was waiting a long time, but wasn't 100% sure as I left my phone in the locker room and there are not clocks in the waiting areas. Finally I was met by my masseuse, Gina. She took me back to the main hallway and into one of the private rooms. She asked me if I had any trouble spots and I mentioned I get knots under my shoulder blades. Once she began the massage, I knew I was in good hands. She worked on the knots and when she was done I felt 95% better. Towards the end of my massage Gina excused herself for a moment and then came back to finish my massage. Once it was complete she waited for me to come out and handed me my hot tea. She apologized because she started my 90 minute massage 30 minutes late. I said, it felt like I had waited a long time, but overall it was okay bc I felt better. Even though I would have liked the 90 minutes bc I was looking forward to it. Also, I would have liked to have rinsed off before my facial, but I can do that another time. As soon as Gina and I finished talking my facial tech, Nickee was waiting for me. She immediately took me to her private room and began my facial. She asked if I had any allergies or sensitivities and then we started the 60 minute facial. It was lovely. All the products were gentle, and I'm sensitive, and smelled wonderful! After my facial, Nickee suggested a few recommendations for my skin and said I should come back every 6-8 weeks. Not sure I can afford that, but I did take her recommendations into consideration and bought product much cheaper at Target. Two days later I received a followup call from Nickee to see how I was doing after my facial and she hoped to see me again. I thought that was a nice touch and good customer service. Also, when I checked out the front desk also apologized about shortening my massage and discounted my massage to the package deal and offered another $5 discount out of good faith without me even having to ask. The customer service and experience was well worth the money and I know I'd like to treat myself here in the future. PS: Parking is in the many structures around San Fernando. read more

Which if you really need your brows threaded, you have to start from scratch in researching reviews, and finding a person. I'm telling you, my husband and I are going to continue receiving treatments at this spa because it is absolutely fantastic!! This is a large and beautiful spa with a zen ambiance and the staff will treat you like royalty. The facial I received was actually my very first ever facial and I am hooked!! The products they use are all organic and are very effective. After my Pur-fection skin care treatment, I noticed my skin was a smooth as porcelain and looked more radiant than ever. I felt I needed that particular treatment because I have very oily acne prone skin. Now, here it is a week later and I have noticed that my skin is less oily and pores appear to have shrunken. Yaaaaay!!! My hubby enjoys the deep tissue massages and swears by them. If you enjoy being pampered, then this is definitely the place to come. The front has many great products and the estheticians will make great recommendations. While the stuff is more expensive than what you find in a drug or beauty store, the quality is way better. What I love most about Romina is that she is not some snot nose floozy straight out of massage school. She possesses knowledge with a great touch & intuition. she greeted me with a warm genuine smile, was very caring, accommodating & made sure I was comfortable throughout session. Beautiful soft hands. Warm stones & warm towels were a nice touch. I have noticed numerous spas & massage parlors are including stones & towels to massage treatments. Romina did an excellent job. Pressure was great. Decor of massage room is gorgeous, dark earthy colors, scone lighting, ample space; heartwarming. Small dry saunas for each gender. Finlandia made; so you know they are best in the industry. My dislike is that the locker room needs a major upheaval, privacy is marginal when you just have a curtain separating your modesty from the rest of patrons. $155 for a 90 minute deep tissue, well this one was worth every penny. All in all, I would return to see Romina. Sooner than later. For whatever reason, Ra has a high turnover with staff. So I will make a concerted effort to be massaged by a wonderful, caring, knowledgeable lady that is Romina. read more

Beautiful, clean spa... I went in for mothers day with my mom and it was our first time. The spa is clean and the staff are accommodating. The couples massage we had was relaxing. Our massage therapists both were really thorough and did a wonderful job. The only slight problem I had was with booking, but it wasn't a big issue. rA is a gem of a spa conveniently located in downtown Burbank. The spa is tastefully decorated and lowly lit, which is great for relaxing. I've only been here for massages (deep tissue and Swedish), both of which were very good. My one minor complaint is that they have ticking clocks in the massage rooms, which detract from the peace and quiet. Otherwise, this spa is great. I think it's better than Burke Williams but not quite as nice as the Four Seasons Beverly Hills (where you'll spend 50% more). read more

Best facial i've ever had! I have very sensitive problem combination skin and these facials have done wonders. I have since switched over to all Eminence Organics skincare products and see and feel a big difference. The parrifin hand dip is icing on the cake! I've also had a body scrub here which was also amazing. It's not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for! I have been a loyal customer of Ra's since they first opened their doors. I always get the Swedish massage with Pulita, except for a couple times when she wasn't available. Now unfortunately, she know longer works there which means I will no longer be returning to Ra. My last shot was when I booked my final appointment because I had the $99 special and the receptionist recommended someone who was supposedly similar to Pulita. NO she was not. Her hands were extremely cold the entire time, she was very rough with her movements, she came uncomfortably close to parts I would rather her not touch, and I found myself unable to relax the entire LONG 1.5 hours. And when I told the front desk about my experience, she could have cared less. I agree with the other reviews that their customer service has gotten worse. So unfortunate because I have been coming here for years. read more

This Place is AMAZING!!! I decided last min that I wanted to have a spa day so I called and got a same day facial appt. This was going to my very 1st facial so I was a little nervous. Once I arrived The staff was great made me feel very comfortable and the place is very clean. Since I arrived early I went into the sauna to relax then went to the quite room to wait for my esthetician Ani. Ani was so wonderful she really took her time and was very knowledgeable. I have visited the spa a few times before the event which led me to give them a one star and while I was really impressed with the quality of my shiatsu, I was a tad underwhelmed by the lack of privacy that is afforded to its patrons as you're in a canopied mat area where you can hear footsteps (or in my case...ice being pured into cups). But I digress....what happened recently is what leads me to giving them the one star. My husband and I were out recently during our Friday "date afternoon" (we have a toddler and try to go out for three hours every Friday afternoon) and decided on a whim to see if we could get a foot reflexology massage for 30 minutes each. We called and the receptionist told us to come in as she had two therapists available. We headed over and upon entry, the poor girl that took our call (she looked super embarassed) seemed to have been browbreaten by a woman that seemed to be the manager (blonde) as she informed us that she had made a mistake and that they could not give us each a thirty minute massage but they COULD give us a one hour foot massage each. I asked why they couldn't give us a thirty minute massage. Her response: in case someone needs a massage. I looked at her as though wondering if she thought I was a dope. But, I stated, it's 4:00 now and your therapists are available now...how would us paying for a 30 minute massage interfere since noone is here to book up their time? She very haughtily stated "it's the policy". I shall say this: GREED IS UGLY and especially when it's surrounded by the pretense of tranquility. read more

Ada had very coordinated movements focused on all the problematic areas of my body. She was periodically asking if the pressure was alright and how I was feeling. Fabulous, wonderful place. I went here on a weekday. It was beautiful and quiet and everything was made of wood and glass. I had a 60 minute Swedish massage, a 30 minute facial with Elena and a 30 minute herbal foot treatment. It wa s pure heaven. Everything is done for your comfort and during the facial they have warm air on your face, After I was done I was completely energized for the next two days. it was fabulous. Total was about 200 dollars + tips and it was well worth it. The therapists are wonderful and I highly recommend Ra. I can't imagine going anywhere else. There is 3 and 4 hour free parking diagonally in a parking complex to the south of RA. read more

I'm new to this spa so I haven't tried out enough services to give this place 5 stars, but my first visit here was defintiely pleasant. I came here last Sunday for a much needed facial with Michelle. She did an amazing job at cleansing and rehydrating my skin because I havent had a facial for about 8 months. She's pretty thorough with extractions and gave me a very relaxing shoulder, head, and leg massage. My face was so dull and I was breaking out more than usual prior to my facial but after I left the spa, my skin felt so good for the rest of the day and my face continued to glow as each day went by. It's been 3 days now and I think I heard my skin thank me last night and begging me to return once a month =P read more

It was my first time going to the spa and had a 90 minute Swedish massage. When you first walk in you immediately feel more relaxed with all the soothing sounds and the calm atmosphere. While we were waiting in one of the rooms within a few minutes Kelly and Jennifer came and invited us to the room where we will be getting our massages. I had got Jennifer as my masseuse and she was incredible, she hit all the right spots and applied just the right amount of pressure. so here's my story. I have a lovely vacation in Australia, and then a 14 hour flight back to the states, and then a 22 hour layover before my 6 hour flight home. Nowhere in there is a scheduled relaxation time, or downtime, or frankly, a shower time. Clearly, that makes it day spa time. I googled and yelped and found rA. I booked my appointment over the internet, and figured I'd go directly there when I got off the plane. So I show up, and oops...I booked on the wrong day. But after a few minutes they very graciously found a way to accommodate me for my massage, and ushered me back in to the treatment area. It was one of the more relaxing experiences I've ever had, darkened areas with lovely music. I could feel that 14 hour flight slipping away. The ambiance was ideal. The massage was also wonderful. The pressure was perfect, I really needed a lot of work at the back of my neck and felt like I could turn more easily afterwards. Very relaxing, very comfortable environment, very appreciated flexibility in scheduling makes this a place I wish I lived a little closer to! read more
