I was in this area to play golf. I was pretty hungry and came across this Indian restaurant while I was driving by. Initially I was very hesitant as I saw only a couple of cars parked outside the restaurant in their parking spot. I took a chance. I was greeted by a nice hostess who offered me any open seats to sit. I took a window seat right next to another group. This group was a group of young Hispanic boys. The way they kept doing stuff on their table looked sketchy. I will come back to their story soon. Biryani is one of my favorite dishes. It's flavored rice with any meat you want. I ordered lamb biryani as it was highly recommended by the server. They gave free pappad which was nice. Biryani was very delicious. Lots of amazing flavors and lots of meat. I definitely needed a to go container to take the rest home. Coming back to the 4 guys who were sitting next to me. While I was having my dinner, they received the check. Two of the boys walked out while the other two said they will pay in cash. The server walked away to give them some space. Remaining two quickly put some cash and walked out and I could see they jumped in the car and rushed away. When server came back and checked the payment, they had left only $20, but their bill was about $100. I did see them order a lot of stuff. I think they all had their entree and a couple of starters. I felt bad for the server. One advice is to collect the cash payment directly at the register to avoid such scenarios.

About a 4.5: Raaga offers a great daily lunch buffet, offering Indian and Nepali eats. They offer an extensive menu, which includes various apps, soups, tandoori specialties, seafood/chicken/lamb/vegetarian entrees, biryani, house dishes, sides, desserts, and drinks. Honestly, my prior experiences with Raaga had always been just okay - I never disliked the place, but I never really fully enjoyed the food, either. It seems as if either the management, or, specifically, the kitchen staff has changed, since the food they offer now is SO MUCH BETTER! The hubs and I came here for lunch to partake in their AYCE lunch buffet - the dishes included: +salad and dressings +potato balls +basmati rice +veg biryani +mix veg curry +yellow dal +palak paneer +mattar mushroom +chicken tikka kabab +butter chicken +and, kheer for dessert The dishes were actually quite delicious! My favorites were the potato balls, the mattar mushroom, the chicken tikka kabab, and the butter chicken - all were so thick, creamy, and so flavorful! The hot naan that comes out was so buttery - it was soft and crispy at the same time, and amazing to scoop up the sauces with. Staff were very kind and friendly; used dishes were taken away promptly, and our water was frequently refilled. Definitely a great option if you're craving for some Indian/Nepali food; the buffet gives you a great variety, and everything was well-prepared and fresh. Plenty of parking in their private lot. +delicious lunch buffet +friendly & kind staff +ample parking in private lot

Unassuming exterior for good Indian cuisine. I loved the baignan bharta (mashed eggplant). The naan was good as well. We tried the mixed tandoori grill but the lamb was extremely tough and chicken was quite dry. The chicken saag was flavorful though. Service was polite and accommodating to us.

One of our family favorite restaurants in Falls Church. Staffs are very friendly, the place is clean and food is soooo good, great balance with curry favor, various spicy levels. Weekday price is $15**, weekend is $19** if I remember correctly, but it's totally worth it since they serve the lamb curry stew during weekend(maybe in different name) that is my favorite dish there.

The ambience/interior decorating and exterior patio could use a refresh, and that is the only reason that I took off one star. The service was friendly, and the food was amazing, succulent, slow cooked deliciousness! I had chicken saag and sweetie pie had curried chicken. The portions were generous, and, in a rare move, we took leftovers home because they were that good. I recommend!

Service is great, but I'm so-so on the food. It's not as authentic as I had hoped. For instance, the chana masala just didn't taste right and the tandoori chicken was kind of dry (which, how do you even do that with tandoori chicken?) But to be fair, the palak chat was amazing, so it wasn't all bad.

I thought everything was so delicious!! I feel like sometimes flavor could be overpowering in some places but this to me was perfect! It did have good amount of cumin flavor but I didn't mind it bc it went all so well. I would highly recommend it!! I had a lot of ppl suggesting me to this place from fb! I don't regret my decision

Overall I thought it was fine. The chicken was made well, and mah tai was good, although my wife said it didn't really taste like one. I think for someone who doesn't know Indian food all that well, it's worth going. But won't be going back.

Their naan bread is one of the best in the area. Try their assortment of naan including the garlic naan which is my personal favorite! The butter chicken was well seasoned and had amazing flavor in every bite. Perfectly paired with rice and add naan bread to dip into for a great experience!

I've been to Raaga a few times over the last few years. Today, we stopped in for our staff lunch. I called at about 1230 to inform me we were arriving at 1pm and needed a table for 11 people. The lunch buffet was set up. Which contained salad, vegetable pakora, chicken tiki, rice, and fruit. It was under whelming to me. I enjoyed the chicken.. The service was average. We got water and naan for our table. I think I prefer dinner at this restaurant.

Naan Bread that comes with buffet lunch. Delicious!

Went for the buffet after an absence of about six years or so. We had stopped going because we felt the quality had gone down; however I must say it is back and it's a star. The food was delicious. The servers and chef were friendly. The ambience was nice, peaceful and clean. The tandoori naan was piping hot from the oven and tender, flavorful, nicely charred in spots, and brushed with a lovely touch of GHEE.

Everything I normally get for the lunch buffet: Chicken Biryani, chicken Marsala, spinach, mint sauce with yogurt sauce!!

A concerted effort towards variety is evident, with distinct proteins and vegetarian choices in specific curries/sauces creating a beautifully balanced array of different colors. I love this. (An example of the opposite: When there's a paneer tikka masala AND a chicken tikka masala on a buffet - I don't count these as being 2 different entrées.) Saffron is way better than the musty neighbor Haandi Indian across the street. A long time local recommended Haandi over Saffron and I believe she must have lied to me about having tried Saffron, because there is absolutely no comparison. Saffron is wayyy better. There is actually flavor and attitude in the dishes at Saffron. Haandi is boring and bland. Pro tip: ask for your naan bread "crispy" and it will come out nice and toasted. Naan is included with the lunch buffet. Would be 5 stars if it were $15. $22 can get you AYCE made-to-order sushi lunch down the street, so $20 for Indian buffet lunch here seems all-the-money. Delicious, though! Oh and another possible star deduction reason: I saw a few stains on some tablecloths at Saffron that appeared to be days-old from not being changed or noticed. This is a "glass top on top of red tablecloth" kind of place. They need to get rid of the tablecloths if they're not changing them with each customer.

So, since I was looking for Pizza, the Butter Chicken Pizza caught my eye and instantly made me craving for it. Unfortunately, it was too late the night that I found them on Yelp, so I had to wait a couple of days. I knew generally where they were located, but had no idea that they were nestled a couple doors down from the Harris Teeter I have been going to for years. Even knowing the address, I passed by the first time as it doesn't stand out among the other businesses in the strip mall. Upon walking in, I saw that the place is clean and I was immediately greeted by the gentleman at the register. Still craving the idea of Butter Chicken on a Pizza, how could I order anything else? Well, when I noticed that they also sell momos, I also ordered Chicken Momos. The sound of a Mint Cherry Lemonade spurred my curiosity as well, so that topped off my order. The steamed momos took a little bit of time to make, so I was given my lemonade in the meantime...at my request. It is pretty amazing...but, you may want to ask for extra ice as it is very sweet and very sour at the same time...but is made fresh from real fruit and muddled mint. After about 10min, my order was ready, and somehow I was able to resist the urge to open the bag before my ten minute drive home. I have to admit, at first sight, the size to price ratio seemed to be off balance. The Butter Chicken flatbread pizza is not that big. Personal sized is appropriate...but the size is deceptive. Every bite of this little Pizza was amazing. It was like Butter Chicken and Pizza were made to be paired...with a generous amount of mozzarella marrying the two together. The chicken, the sauce, the cheese, the spice, the flatbread, the caramelized edges...all make for an amazing experience. After finishing the last bite of the last slice, I was unexpectedly, and pleasantly full. So, that size to price ratio? For such a unique and amazing Pizza, I think it's appropriately priced. The momos I had to save for the next day, but they too were amazing. For those unfamiliar with momos, the dumplings themselves are not that different from other Asian dumplings except that they tend to be fully stuffed and with higher quality meat. What sets momos apart is the sauce which is rich and flavorful...not just soy sauce like so many other asian dumplings. In this case, the sauce is a rich, creamy, spicy tomato sauce...and it paired perfectly with the chicken momos. They too seemed to be too few to make a meal, but I was wrong. Totally full afterwards with smile a mile wide. Will I be back? Uh...I would have gone back every day afterwards if I didn't want to ruin a good thing!
