The food was disgusting. The chicken was undercooked and raw, and it gave me salmonella. The owner was very rude and Islamophobic

Found out about Gobi's Goods via Instagram and was so pleased when they popped up at Smorgasborg…read morebecause they were delicious! We ordered the CEO of Ube and a Dubai Cinnamon Roll and it was the perfect ending to our Smorgasborg feast. The CEO of Ube is a fluffy cloud of a brioche donut filled with, topped with and dusted with ube. A surprisingly light offering considering the cream filling. The Dubai Cinnamon roll on the other hand, was appropriately decadent. The cinnamon roll was fluffy and tender, with a healthy amount of pistachio paste and kataifi on top. The interior was rolled with dark chocolate, giving it a pleasant bitterness that counteracted the richness of the cinnamon roll. Service was excellent and I do appreciate the fact that once you order, they take the time to put the finishing touches on your pastry before you sit down and devour. Well worth a visit for some unique pastries if you happen to find them at an event!

Had the pleasure of visiting their booth at Ubeland this year. This was one of the longest lines at…read morethe food festival, but was worth the wait. We had the CEO of Ube. This is described as an ube brioche donut, with ube halaya pastry cream, ube sugar, ube chantilly and ube caramel shards. It was pretty good, better than most donuts I've tried (I'm not a huge donut fan). What I personally enjoyed the most was the Coconut Glazed Ube Roll This is their ube brioche roll rolled with their classic ube halaya, and finished with sweet coconut glaze. It was gooey, had lots of subtle flavors and was great reheated at home. Definitely worth a 20 minute wait, but if you find yourself in a 45 minute long line like I did, maybe try something else in the meantime.

I've heard of Light House in Harlem plenty of times and finally got the chance to stop by…read more Before anything you must know. It's CASH Only. They went all out on the interior. It has a nice aquatic vibe all throughout the restaurant with different rooms to dine in. I started with the seafood platter. For $60, you get a whole tray full of crab legs, lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams, corn, and potatoes. I'm not a big seafood boil person but this one was valid. I enjoyed it. It was random but they also have popcorn but it was good so I'm not complaining. Then I ordered the popular honey garlic wings with the trifecta: Mac & cheese, candied yams, and collard greens. The wings were crispy and fresh. Plus the honey garlic sauce was really good. I understand the hype. I seen the lobster fries all over my feed so I ordered them. They use thick cut fries and the lobster on top is creamy. For my second platter I got Catfish with steamed cabbage and potato salad. You can tell they freshly fry the fish. Plus the batter is seasoned well. The cabbage lowkey has a kick which I liked and the potato salad has a subtle sweetness. I'm not mad at it though. Lastly I ordered the lobster Mac. Coated with a whole layer of cheese. You get lobster bits all throughout. Service was good. Lighthouse is definitely a solid spot whether you're taking out or dining in with a lot of options to choose from.

My husband and I went to the restaurant after seeing the IG hype, but this was the worst experience…read moreever! First, when you walk in, the front of the restaurant is takeout, and the actual restaurant is further in the back. Our plan was to sit in the actual restaurant and eat. As we went to the area to be seated, there was a sign that stated "Cash Only". When we asked the hostess, if they took credit cards for takeout, with an attitude she stated, "Yes, but you can't order takeout, and then try to sit in the restaurant and eat." It wasn't what she said, but the attitude in which she said it. And the sit in part of the restaurant was COMPLETELY empty! Therefore, we decided to get takeout, and this is when the experience went from mediocre to HORRIBLE. After ordering our food, which totaled to $105 and change (we ordered the stuffed lobster tail with two sides, the deep fried catfish with two sides, fish and chips, and two blue lemonades). There is a sign that stated that all fried food will be cooked first, due to steamed food taking a little longer. Therefore, we expected a wait of approximately 20 minutes. However, we waited for over 40 minutes, and during that wait time, we saw the cook line being unprofessional, laughing and joking, talking over the food, the bartender came to order catfish and was served before the waiting customers, garbage was being brought from the back through the waiting area which is beyond unsanitary (the Department of Health definitely needs to pay this establishment a visit)! We saw that our food was ready, but instead of the cashier letting us know, we literally had to ask for it due to the entire front line piss poor customer service. Once we got home to sit down to eat, the food was mediocre. The stuff lobster, wasn't stuffed, it was just topped with a mushy crab cake. The fish was fried a little too hard. The mac and cheese was on the dry side, but the candied yams and the blue lemonade was good. This place should be totally revamped, or completely shut down! Management definitely should have the staff to go through customer service training, because employees are the face of your establishment. Also, with the cash only policy, I wonder if ALL of the employees are working there legally, or being paid under the table. Which would explain why management doesn't have a problem with the piss poor attitude of the staff. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

According to the story its a one man show. The owner/chef really takes his shop seriously and its a wonder to watch. Everything is whipped up in a tiny kitchen, in this small restaurant slash lounge slash bistro. Let me just say that my first time I ordered the Khao Mun Gai Tao and the soup broth made me FEEL something so familiar and nice. Kind of a flashback to eating a good home-cooked meal at age five. After I got over my thoughts on broth and Wellness I scooped into the ginger rice and knew it was a keeper. The chicken was a slam dunk. I look forward to trying many more dishes and you should too. If you dont like it, good, more for me and those that know what a heartwarming does to the soul. Will be back for more.

The kari with crab meat however was delicious!! Has a bit of a kick but would definitely go back for that.

Returning years later, I'm happy to say that Ricardo's is just as special as I remembered. My friend and I recently visited, and the food was outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection (medium), tender, flavorful, and exactly as ordered. The mashed potatoes and mushrooms were equally delicious, and every dish reflected the quality of the ingredients. The drinks were expertly prepared, and it's clear that Ricardo's continues to take pride in what they serve. What truly stood out was the atmosphere. As we enjoyed our meal, we watched families and friends gather to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, and other milestones. There's a warmth and energy to this place that makes every visit feel like an occasion. It's also a testament to the owners that Ricardo's has stood the test of time. In an industry where so many beloved restaurants come and go, they have continued to deliver a consistently excellent experience. The value was exceptional. The portions were generous, the quality was top-notch, and the bill was more than reasonable for what we received. You can tell they still use quality ingredients and premium cuts of meat. Ricardo's has managed to maintain both its standards and its charm over the years--a rare accomplishment. Well done, Ricardo's. I'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable meal and a great dining experience.
