First of all, the folks at Cake Burgers are just incredible, down to earth, real neighbors folks. I could sit in there and talk for hours, but then I'd be jobless. The food is amazing. Best burger I've had in a long time: cooked perfect, seasoned just right, absolutely top notch. My chocolate shake was everything I ever wished it could be. Got that '50s malt shop vibe going on. Love!!! iI'll be back! By the way....the whole custom designer cakes (models of which can be seen in the atmosphere pics) and desserts is a whole other story...to be continued.

The staff was so friendly and really made you feel like you were part of a community. They even went as far as to help me get a ride to the airport since I was visiting from out of town. Talk about above and beyond! Also the ambiance was almost like a cute little sitcom. After having this great experience I was really hopping the food would be good and I am VERY pleased to say it was DELICIOUS. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly. The sweet potato fries were the perfect amount of crunch with a soft inside. I will be recommending this place to everyone in that area because it was really that good! Disappointed I didn't get to try a burger cake but there's always next time

Stumbled upon this cool place when looking for a dessert for my sister in law. Yvette informed me of the types of cakes she makes but luckily had some cupcakes to put together. My sister in law loved it! Thanks, Yvette for making it special. Next time I want to try their burgers!

Came for a burger but sat next to the owner and was just speaking with her while I was eating. First things first - the burger was delicious! While next to her, she was making a cake for a teens party which is one of the photos I attached. I was just amazed on how much the cake looked like the actual photo the parent provided her. Would definitely go to her in the future for a custom cake and will keep going for a nice affordable burger.

Cake Burgers is THE go-to hole-in-the-wall restaurant in East Harlem. Its 1950s retro diner aesthetic will lure everyone in, but the food and owners are what keep people as permanent customers. The chef/owner is a former chef of a Michelin star restaurant who left to pursue his own restaurant in East Harlem. For basically chump change, you too can afford your own Michelin quality burger. My default is a Hass burger - a burger with avocado and Oaxaca cheese! With COVID going on, we have to wait outside of the restaurant while waiting for our food. When my husband, friend, and I ordered our food, we waited about 15 minutes. This alone is speedy enough, but time seemed to flow so quickly especially with the chef's wife/owner regaling us with various anecdotes, keeping us company while waiting in the harsh cold. While recanting her stories, her husband sneakily gave us some hot chocolate to help keep us warm as well. To the more delicious part of the story, I finally got to dive into my Hass burger! Its creamy avocado pairs so well with the umami-packed burger (my own preference is cooked medium-rare)! The staff of Cake Burgers also use a spicy sauce to balance out the creaminess, cheesy, and savory flavors of the Hass burger. I'm a huge fan of Oaxaca cheese, and because it's a lighter cheese relative to other cheeses, it augmented the more refreshing feel to a burger. Unlike your normal burger, the Hass burger won't leave you feeling groggy or suffering from the post-meal meat sweats! Overall, I love coming to Cake Burgers for a nice and quick treat. Definitely come for the diner feel, stay for the food and company.

If you live in El Barrio and haven't been to Cake Burgers, what are you doing! This is exactly what I said to myself today after I took my first bite. This burger is next level, made with the best ingredients and by an extremely talented chef. I loved every single bite. It's one of those burgers where you can taste every single thing in it and it all works together to create an explosion in your mouth. I am not kidding, look at that lettuce! I've had a lot of burgers in NYC and this one is truly special. Shout out to the power duo - Alejandro & Evette making the dream happen on 120th street! Start with the cheeseburger & fries!

We were thrilled to find two seats at the end of the bar when we arrived. As luck would have it, the two gentlemen next to us eventually left, allowing us to slide over and enjoy an even better view of the TV for the rest of the game. I started with a Tito's and club soda, but unfortunately, something seemed off--perhaps the club soda was flat. The drink just wasn't good. To their credit, the bartender took it back without hesitation and was very accommodating. I then ordered a Negroni after the woman sitting next to us highly recommended it. I don't usually drink gin, but this cocktail was absolutely delicious and changed my mind. Since we were there for several hours, we shared an order of zucchini and eggplant chips and happily snacked on them throughout the game. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, with a nice mix of ages and people enjoying the evening. We made sure to leave our bartender a generous tip since we occupied our seats for the entire game. Even though the Knicks didn't pull out a win that night, we certainly didn't leave defeated. I'd happily return for another game, cocktail, and fun evening out. And maybe even get dinner there. Little did I know there was another big room in the ack once you past the restrooms. They were having a thriving business there!

He was constantly busy zippin around but maintained a nice demeanor and made everyone feel welcome! Must orders of mine: the burger! Although small, it comes out piping hot and the fresh white onion between the bottom bun and burger is awesome because it doesn't make the bottom bun soggy and catches all the juices from the actual meat. Love subbing the fries for a Caesar salad! Standout appetizer is the fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki-- crispy, hot, juicy and I get it every time!

The…read morepull apart truffle monkey bread was our initial reason for coming, and although the price point was quite steep, I would say it's worth the try. The bread was fluffy and not dry, which I had seen previous reviews say before. Paired with the creamy truffle butter, it had a luxurious mouthfeel. My favorite was the pork chop (cognac, sweet prunes, bacon, rosemary) -- the sweet and soft texture of the prune was melted in my mouth like fat, and the pork was tender, with the rosemary also coming through. The vodka rigatoni was a skip, somewhat bland and one-note, we ended up putting some of the truffle butter and garlic aioli from the fries to make it more flavorful. This was especially in contrast with the spicy shrimp pasta which was much tastier. Also got the strawberry vacherin (strawberry ice cream, meringue, vanilla whipped cream), it was my first time having this dessert. The tartness of the strawberry was great with the fluffy meringue and the sweet ice cream. Service was extremely attentive, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with moody lighting. Although the space was packed, it didn't feel too loud or crowded. We spent about two hours and didn't feel rushed.

He took the time to listen to our concerns and invited our group back so we could give their group another chance. Our return visit was a completely different experience. I appreciate the way the owner handled the situation and his willingness to have an open conversation with us.
