Outstanding! Make My Fish was having another busy Saturday this afternoon. The people were lining up so fiercely, that I had time to place my order at Make My Fish; walk out and across the street to order, wait and pickup at Amy Ruth's; then still have time to wait for my order back at Make My Fish. I was not the only one to do a similar thing. MMF is always busy doing business. I ordered fries with just catfish, extra crispy. Twenty bucks. I heard other people placing their respective orders of whatever, extra crispy. Perhaps that is responsible for the extra time, but it is time well worth it when you get home. I'll be ordering mine extra crispy from now on. Those high quality fillets of catfish with that crispy corn meal batter, crisped and seasoned to perfection is a simple pleasure that has me here on the regular. The catfish version of fish and chips is superb at twenty bucks and good luck trying to find that deal anywhere at this level for that price. You just need the patience to wait for it. I saw three young cats eat theirs almost right away just outside on the sidewalk. They couldn't wait to get home. It's worth noting the wide demographic lining up at MMF. For my first time here, it was quite interesting. I had no idea where to order, I thought it was at the counter when you first walk in but that was for order pick up. I was told by the guy who was at the pick up counter where to order. This is a cash only establishment so bring your bills. I got myself a catfish and shrimp combo with no fries. I heard that the catfish was the star and Ive had plenty of whiting that pretty much all are basic. So I wanted to try out their catfish. Now heres where it gets interesting. That same guy at the pick up counter offered me a sample tasting of both whiting, catfish and shrimp options when he realized it was my first time visiting. I wish I would have received that sample before I made my order because I would have passed on buying the shrimp. I think it was fried to perfection but somehow it had a sweet flavor that was off putting to me. I took it home for my daughter to enjoy. The catfish was extra meaty and delicious but the whiting was the real star. Boom Bam Pow! It was so fresh, so full of flavor and crunchy. Ive had plenty of store brought whiting before, but this took me back to my childhood, when I was a teenager and we would have fried fish Fridays and family and friends would come over to play cards and other games, hang out and eat fish and salad. What a nostalgic moment! I think the prices are quite pricey for some fish but what isn't these days. It was so worth it! They "can make my fish" anytime and that is exactly what I would return for. I wouldn't stay to eat here although they had a tabletop with some stools but it not a comfy environment. I wanna say thanks again to the guy who took the time to speak to me and give me the samples for the first time customers, although I don't know if I would have received it if I didn't look so confused and asked a bunch of questions lol. It's local, it's a whole in the wall and we like it just fine. I got the fried fish and M&C - Fish has great flavor, not greasy, and not overly battered. Emphasis on not overly battered because that is a thing at some places. I don't wanna feel guilty eating fish. Great portion size (please keep the portion size the same) and it re-heats well. Next day with some grits, perfect! - M&C gives a homemade feel, it's good and simple. I had to hold off on one start because the 3 times that I've been there's a disturbing smell. How come every Southern fried fish place I've been to all have the worst process for ordering their food? Below are things that are always present in places like these: 1. No clear place to line up and place my order. 2. A large number of people hanging out in a tiny area waiting for their number to be called. 3. The person calling out the order number is drowned out by the music blasting in the background. 4. Almost non-existent seating area. 5. Hot inside with one small broken box fan in the corner, trying to cool down this small area packed with customers. 6. Confusing, barely readable signage. 7. Again, trying to place an order to a cashier behind a glass with music blaring in the background. Here are some simple fixes I believe would solve most of their issues. 1. Turn the music off! 2. Once you place your order, wait outside until your number is called. 3. Get either a loudspeaker or an electronic number poster showing the order ready for pick up. 4. Clean up the posted menu. 5. Get a fan that works. 6. Have a separate pick up area for the Grub Hub and Uber folks. There's more, but I believe these suggestions would resolve 90% of their issues and increase productivity, because despite the apparent problems, the fish is actually pretty tasty. BB read more

I looooove seafood, I had no idea what I was in for. This place is the absolute best. I got the fish, shrimp and fries. He gave me hot sauce, tartar sauce and bread to go with it. Came in on an adventure on a Friday night after work and went right back on Saturday for dinner again! The food is easily a 15/10. The ambiance is cool but if you're looking for a place to sit and eat, walk a few avenues over to the park. Don't be intimidated by the amount of people in and outside of establishment because the line moves quicker than you think. Order is always correct and they make sure to ask you to wait if everything isn't included in your bag. Back to the food, I'm not a fan of shrimp but these are cooked to perfection with a hint of sweetness as if they added a lil sugar to that batter. The fish, if it wasn't fried I would be eating every single day. Catfish is cooked perfectly, seasoned by the ancestral gods and served crispy! The grits are amazing and the greens are cooked down without meat so you don't have to worry about pork being added to your greens. The grits! They were seasoned and buttered up. Definitely satisfied my craving and I was given the option to add cheese! Add it! That Mac n cheese is also good not as greasy as most places serve it. There were 4 pieces of regularly sized Whiting fish, and a container of grits. The fish was lightly browned, but crispy. It was seasoned, and the grits were hot and creamy. I love Make My fish food it is soooo yummy . My fav order that I always get is the catfish dinner with the two sides of potato salad and the yams or two potato salads. As for the service I've had to wait for a little bit but it's times I'm only on line for a few minutes it really depends on how crowded it is . But it stay packed because people love the food but they are nice and try to move the line along as fast as they can.
