Unfortunately, my interaction with R__ (a manager!) at Platinum Motors was I would call a typical…read moresleazy used car salesperson. I called and gave him the details of my vehicle (111,000 miles, not a turbo charged) and over the phone, he quoted me $14,000. Well I knew that was overpriced (heck, anyone can find the value of their car online). He wanted to set up an appointment, but when I showed up, he had forgotten that he made it. Additionally, I told him the actual mileage but he still quoted me for 11,000 miles. He also quoted me for a turbo charged. Eventually, after getting all the numbers straight, he said 'how about $7500.00'. The final deal was when he came back and told me that the owner had just gotten in a shipment of cars from Nevada and they wouldn't take mine. I walked out laughing and vowed never to walk back into a used car lot again.

Wow! This company is so unprofessional and rude. I would NEVER buy/sell a car to these jokers! Jeff George contacted us to purchase our vehicle, we agreed on a price and he shows up to our bank with a check made out to the WRONG bank. Then tries to talk down the agreed upon price, without a certified check to offer. He insist on taking our car without payment and "promises" to send the money within 10 days. Yep, that sounds like a great idea. He then proceeds to insult and yell at our banker to "give him the payoff" and again "I promise I will give you the money". Not sure the last time I bought a car on a "promise" but according to Jeff, they "do it all the time". Yeah, these sound like very classy, reputable business men. I can't even believe they are still in business. Be warned Boise, I will warn everyone I know about these jokers. Better yet, go make a car deal with them and offer them a "promise to pay within 10 days", seems like they do it often

When I took that vehicle in for an oil change, the body shop refused to touch it because there was so much wrong with it that fixing one thing would cause a chain reaction from old worn parts and lack of maintenance. I still faithfully made my payments. When that vehicle broke down and it cost more to fix it than it was worth (this is at least halfway thru my loan) they only had one comparable vehicle on the lot that fit my needs. They increased my payment even though I told them I couldn't afford it; but I needed a running vehicle so I agreed. They were supposed to get the spare tire that goes on the back, that never happened. I have an autoimmune disease that causes increased sensitivity to heat and air conditioning was needed; Paul was only willing to recharge the a/c but it actually needed a new part (compressor??) so I drove all summer without it. Still made my payments faithfully. In all this time, I had missed only one payment, on the previous vehicle. Last month the vehicle needed a new ignition and tumbler. Nearly $1,000 added on to my loan to fix. While the car was out of commission, I lost 3 weeks of working and had to take a leave of absence from my school; I got behind on other bills as well. So we made an agreement to pay it "piecemeal" as I could. The agreement was $100/week on Thursdays. The first week I made the pmt on Thursday. Last week, work was slow due to the holiday and I didn't have the payment on Wednesday (I didn't agree to Wednesday but Thursday was Thanksgiving so they told me I had to pay Wednesday). Wednesday morning I texted and advised Dana I didn't have all the money and would be in touch after the holiday. She texted back that she would call me Friday. She did not, and I figured as it was a holiday weekend, she had meant Monday. Saturday morning there was a text I didn't see (my bad for sure) but with no follow up at all, text or phone call, they came and took my car. No heads up, no opportunity to pay nor collect my belongings from it. They were closed Sunday. Obviously I texted and called over the weekend and this morning Paul texted at 9am that Dana would be in at 10am for me to collect my belongings. I called at 10am and was told by Dana they would not accept the payment I had borrowed money to make and to bring my keys in and collect my belongings. Over $100 being 2 days late.Their communication is *terrible* and their customer service us nonexistent. This was a shady way to do business. I've reported them to the BBB and am warning anyone that's thinking of going with them that they lack professionalism, courtesy, and communication, not to mention compassion, so don't have any financial troubles while you owe them money or they'll take your car, attempt to sell it for the amount of the loan (in my case over $6,000) but if they can't get the full amount (which they won't bc of the age and condition of the car including electrical issues causing the headlights to flicker) then you'll be responsible for the difference plus $50/day to store it until it sells. Hey Paul I know you were well within your rights to take the action you took but "because I can" is generally a terrible reason to do thing. Business *is* personal on account of you have to do business with persons. Grow a heart. Oh, forgot to mention I had accepted a job and was on my way to make the final $20 needed for the payment on Saturday, had to cancel that job bc my car was gone. I may get deactivated from the platform I perform independent Contractor work for, so this may well have cost me my income source. Good luck with your experience, mine was disappointing in the extreme.
