Bought a new Civic a while back and it wasn't a pleasant experience. The sale started off with a tour of the interior. There are more than 30 buttons and many more settings which involve using the buttons on the steering wheel and front display to adjust further settings like door locks, lights, safety and many more. My salesman simply glossed over the settings, mainly showing me how to set up Apple car play. Not nearly enough. You get a user manual of over 800 pages so make sure you get the salesmen to cover them all. He then tells me that the first service, where they change your oil and rotate the tires isn't due until 10,000 miles! No tire manufacturer recommends going that far without rotating the tires. All recommend rotating between 5-6 thousand, not 10. Plus waiting 10,000 miles to change the oil is ridiculous especially with break-in oil. I don't know if it's Tom Scott or Honda that's trying too save money by eliminating free warranty work. I won't be going back there for service. Next, we went on a drive where I accidently scraped a rim against a curb, When we got back, the salesman immediately got out and started taking pictures of the scrape, He showed me the pics along with telling me the over 500 dollar cost of a new rim plus mounting and balancing. It felt like a "You break it, you bought it" situation. I bought the car, got my copies of the paperwork and left. When I got home, I took a look at my copies of the paperwork only to find that none of my copies could be read, The printing was so light that my copies were literally blank. Printing never made it thru to my copies. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but what was, was the fact that they never presented me with the final bill that shows the purchase price, trade in amount plus all the extras they add on like shipping fees, dealer prep, etc, etc, Extremely unethical. I wound up paying over 30K for a 26 thousand dollar car. Such a deal. They push MSRP and offer no discount for cash. Money is the only thing that drives this dealership. I made a bad choice, Do yourself a favor and shop at Larry Miller Honda. I recently received a recall for my car and went to Larry Miller to have it taken care of. Difference was night and day. I purchased my '24 CRV Hybrid here with Manny. Manny was amazing. Low pressure sales, fast communication (Even on his days off) and just a nice guy. I asked about no front bumper bracket to be installed along with the dealership tail gate logo and he took care of it when other dealerships wouldn't. Its the tiny things that matter. Even when my car was damaged in transit and they had to order another one he made sure his manager was involved right away. Clear expectations were set and the car still came in 2 weeks before scheduled. When the car came in I was in and out in less than an hour and half. This is the 5th Honda our family has bought here and I would highly recommend talking to Manny, Chad and the Tom Scott team. They do great work and don't pressure you at all. read more

Leased a Pilot 4 months ago, it is a lemon. The service department did what they could and the sales team has been really nice. The problem is their Sales Manager, DOMINIC ROMANO. Verbally assaulted me over the phone, screaming and yelling. This type of behavior was not warranted and certainly disproporationate for the point of view I was trying to share with him. I went to Tom Scott Honda to buy a used car. I was pre-approved from my bank and had already found the vehicle I wanted online. We called Brandon Johnson to verify they still had the car and set an appointment for that day. He was getting off work but agreed to stay to help us. We went in, took the car for a test drive, completed the paperwork, and were out of there in less than an hour. No haggling, no back and forth. It was the best car-buying experience I have ever had. I really appreciated Brandon's honesty about what they could do as well as the transparency on their prices. I waited three months before writing this review to make sure everything was as they said it would be - and it is! The banking went through without a hitch, the car is fantastic and runs great. These people at Tom Scott are a complete rip off. Creed the sales manager is a joke. Not only is he unprofessional but coming out in a polo and jeans to customers is crazy for a sales manager. Which I'm not even sure he is one he looked more like the guy that cleans the cars. We purchased a car from Tom Scott but when we came back to see what they would offer to buy a car they low balled the offer they gave us even though the car is worth so much more then what he said. How Creed (sales manager) treated us was horrible and how he spoke with us was the worst service we have ever received. Cooper the sales guy that sold the car only was nice when he wanted the sale but after didn't even greet us when we came in. So he got his commission and after doesn't care about helping you. Would not ever come back to Tom Scott to purchase anything from them in the future nor would I recommend their dealership to my worst enemy that's how poor their service is here at Tom Scott. Don't give business to this place especially with sales people like Cooper and sales manager like Creed. Heck I have a few of my own to tell but not with Tom Scott Honda This review isn't for the actual purchase of our vehicle but rather the Service and the Parts Dept. Over a year ago, Damn Charles, that's a long time, I lost one of the FOBs by having it get sucked into vacuum at a car wash in Meridian. It simply vanished anyhow. We just managed to make it about year w/o purchasing a replacement until one day ....... Hahahaha. You thought I lost another one Nope, how about the battery died in the FOB, our only FOB. Yeah. No battery and guess what the car doesn't start and it's not like I have one of those nickel looking batteries stashed in my battery collection. I called Tom Scott and they explained what had happened. Believe it the solution was simple to take apart FOB but with my luck I would have broke it. I borrowed my neighbors car and drove out to Tom Scott and replaced the battery in jiffy. I told them that I should get another FOB and got me scheduled the same day, programmed it and had me done in about 45 mins. They just take care of their customers plus there's a framed Caddyshack poster in the waiting lobby. It doesn't get better than that. read more

The cabin air filter was filthy with all the dust and smoke and I had them replace it. Great place with no games. However, I had the good luck of reaching out inquiring about a specific model and even though they didn't have any in stock Dawson took my name and number and reached out right when they got some in stock. I went in for a total no pressure test drive. He was super nice, and answered all of my questions very honestly without making me feel like I needed to sign or submit anything that very moment. Decided that evening to purchase and he let me take care of everything over the phone, didn't haggle, made honest and helpful recommendations, then delivered the car and paperwork the next morning. The most effort I had to put in was the test drive, the rest we took care of during my coffee breaks at work! I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey we've been bringing in there for years. In June of 2023 it needed a timing belt repair, oil pump repair, all seals replaced, etc. Besides some oil leaks we were having 0 issues and this has been an amazing vehicle. They recommended all of these services and we have kept up with all services as long as we've owned this vehicle. That's how we have gotten to 313,000 miles.In total it was a $4700 repair. We haven't been stranded once in this vehicle and have not put a quart of oil in it as a background to tell you what I'm about to warn you all about from taking your vehicle there. 2 weeks after this repair we hear the loudest bang inside the engine area and metal going everywhere along with losing total power. They had us bring it in and told us they must have overtightned the tensioner and belts all broke and they said they replaced everything. 2 weeks ago I brought it in for an oil change and they said that they probably made a mistake and didn't replace the rear main seal 9 months ago and it's caused some issues. Travis the service advisor now is back pedalling and saying they are not responsible. Fast forward 9 months and we are driving over in Eastern Idaho and smoke is bellowing out the exhaust and we lose power again and need to bring it to Teton Honda in Pocatello to do a diagnosis. Teton Pocatello said they are directly responsible for this damage because of the repair being done incorrectly and also not replacing seals they said they were going to do. The engine is destroyed and they said that repair we did 9 months ago and the damage that occurred after the repair caused severe catastrophic engine damage because the timing belt broke and they didn't replace the seals they were supposed to which caused oil and antifreeze not to mix in the right areas correctly. DO NOT BRING HERE! They won't take responsibility and their mechanics will ruin your vehicles on big repairs! luckily lawyers are getting involved to get my $4700 back and will try and recoup an engine now that they ruined our vehicle. I'm all good if you admit mistakes which they kind of did but not wont stand behind their repairs And won't reimburse. They recommend you do all the maintenance and repairs but now don't stand behind their mechanics work and say it's the vehicles fault. Luckily we have 2 outside mechanics notes and pics read more

I purchased a used 2001 Nissan Maxima there in May of 2014. This 2018 anniversary of that purchase reminded me to post this. I've since lost their ad that said this car was "The 20th anniversary" model, it was not. This was a GLE, not the SE, that's on me as well. Some of you may recall the image of this Maxima on their Show Room floor. It's pearl white. In retrospect, I was a little bothered about thier quiet conversations Sales and Management had behind the cubicles while peeking back at desk I was signing papers on. I was paying cash so it wasn't a credit decision? Could this be what it was about? The Maxima's "Check Engine" light came on within 400 miles. They said since I bought it "as is", well you know the rest of how that goes. This is different. I've since discovered what they had done, an act which is unconscionable for an experienced Dealership. No wonder this Maxima remained on the floor for about a year. The Dealership had to have reset the computer in order to conceal the much dreaded P0420,P0430 codes. To date I cannot pass a smog test. Thanks to the AQMD a financial waiver gave me until 11/2018. In a nutshell, all of the exhaust system needs replacement, particularly the Catalytic converters and pre-catalytic converters. I asked several local mechanics about this problem and they said only the dishonest dealerships still perform this "trick", of resetting the computer codes hoping the codes don't come back via Check Engine light until your way down the road. One even said turning back the odometer may be ongoing at such dealerships. Had I been more learned in the law I would have followed through. Please report to the consumer protection groups such as CFPB so that this cannot go on w/o consequences. I have posted before and it seems to have been removed, I hope this helps you in making a decision, and have a mechanic put any used car on an OBD2 scanner before you buy. Don't take your vehicle here for maintenance or repairs if you expect them to honor a Honda Care Plan. Took our Pilot in for it's first service, oil and filter change, tire rotation and differential fluid change. They wouldn't cover most of the differential service even though it's covered in the plan that we purchased. We received no help even after notifying both the service writer and service manger that we contacted Honda and received verification that the service should have been fully covered. We will be taking our Honda to Larry Miller Honda in Boise for future service. read more

This dealership has really disappointed me. I have bought several cars through Tom Scott Honda, and Tom Scott Toyota(I know, different owners). I have sent so many of my friends and family to Tom Scott Honda. I always preferred them over Larry Miller Honda. Even when the salesmen from Tom Scott left and went to Larry Miller, and offered me the Type R from Larry Miller. I went right back to Tom Scott because I thought they were different. When working with one of the salesmen from January about ordering a Type R, I was informed it would be at MSRP. Come to find out that they wanted to charge $5000 over MSRP on the car. I received a call from Dick Scott and was told that this is to protect themselves from people that would just buy the car at MSRP and then turn around and sell it for themselves. I was also told that he would call me back as the car was delivered to discuss a deal. Never received a call. Mr. Scott, does it seem like I was trying to buy the car and turn around and sell it? I have also learned that they are now trying to sell it for $10,000 over MSRP. I will never send any family or friends to this dealership again. They have no customer loyalty. Mike with Tom Scott Honda told me I needed a brand-new air compressor for my 2016 Pilot; mentioned I had no extended warranty with them. I mentioned I had one with Larry Miller in Boise but Mike failed to tell me I might me covered with someone else for his grand total of $2,300.00!! He scheduled me in the following day to seal the devil's deal and I called Larry Miller who told me I was indeed covered and only had a 100 dollar deductible !!! I have visited their show room three months ago was quoted a price on new vehicle and my trade in. I was texted that there having Memorial day sale then gave me and out the door price with a trade in. I showed up 5 days after Memorial Day on June 1st with a check for the full amount. They would not Honor there own deal. They raised there price to me by $1400 and still wanted to charge me more because the car I wanted wasn't in there inventory !
