Racha Noodle is the best restaurant in Redding. There are five wonderful women who own and run the restaurant, and Nick is the hip, young waiter. The food is always fresh and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. With a handfull of Thai restaurants in town, Racha (means King in Thai) is hands down the most affordable, consistent, tasty and most delicious of them all. Don't be put off by the location, since it's in the South Market area in an old strip mall type buidling, it's a little funky, but that's part of what makes it so wonderful. This is my go-to place for thai food. Don't let the venue dissuade you from trying this place out. I've tried a wide selection on their menu and it's always very fresh and tasty. After a trip to Thailand last year I honestly found the food at Racha to be on par with the best thai food I tasted overseas (and better than most places, especially in the touristy areas). Very tasty food! I am new to thai food and stopped here with my friend who is a return customer. The furnishings are nothing special but the service is quick and clean. I ordered Spicy Pad Thai with chicken and tofu, and they had no problem making it extra spicy. My friend ordered Pad See Ew and a thai ice tea. We shared plates and both meals were flavorful and delicious, but I liked my Spicy Pad Thai better. Gotta love it, this restaurant made me a fan of Thai food. Now every city i go to, i try other Thai restaurants. I moved from southern California, and travel quite a bit around the state. So far, the only Thai restaurant that is close to Racha is a restaurant in San Francisco. Racha is awesome, the food is good, prices are cheap, and the servings are generous. This place is definitely a favorite of mine. The food is all incredibly yummy and made fresh to order. I highly recommend the khoa soy. It is either number 11 or 15. It's a super yummy yellow coconut soup with tons of noodles bean sprouts chicken and an egg. I try hard to explore and other items on the menu but I always keep coming back to this one. The duck fried rice is amazing. The spring rolls are really good. I love watching them made the fresh spring rolls as well. The atmosphere is very mellow. The Decour is very low cost but that's okay because they pass that savings right along to you. They now except credit cards. This is a very new thing.
