We had a fantastic experience at this bed and breakfast. Linda has thought of every detail from top to bottom to create a unique, immersive, and comfortable experience. We stayed in the Laetitia Mae Suite. This room was wonderful as it has a separate bathroom with a claw foot tub, marble shower, and private balcony. The rest of the house has a cozy, historical feeling at every turn. The library, with complementary tea or a nightcap, was lovely. And last but not least, Linda's homemade breakfast each morning was fantastic! I wish I could have finished it. Coffee, water, juice, muffins, berries, as well as a main course. What more could you ask for! I will certainly be returning whenever I am in Baltimore.

First course of breakfast - a fresh fruit parfait!

My fiancé and I stayed at Rachael's Dowry Bed and Breakfast, for a staycation to celebrate our engagement. The cleanliness and the Covid-19 procedures were phenomenal. I felt very comfortable staying at this bed and breakfast, for those things alone. Now onto the stay! Linda the Innkeeper is amazing! From the initial calls to confirm details of our stay to the lovely welcome tour of the home, it is obvious that she cares about her guests, the history of the building/Baltimore, and the creation of wonderful impressions of bed and breakfasts in general. The decor, hospitality, food/snack offerings all work to highlight the history of this building. We stayed in the Ella Virginia Suite on the top floor. The clawfoot tub was a nice addition to this room. And my fiancé is still talking about the soft bedsheets! Also, if you get a chance, don't forget to try Linda's Carrot Cake Pancakes for breakfast. We can't wait to return to this bed and breakfast.

I went here for a weekend vacation and really enjoyed my time there. I saw so many positive reviews I was afraid that were fake but that are spot on. The rooms are gorgeous and Linda cooks an excellent breakfast! I hate waking up in the morning but I made sure NOT to miss her absolutely delish meal. She also makes the best gluten free cookie you will ever taste in your life. The best part of the stay was being able to chat with Linda, she has an amazing background and I seriously can't wait until my next stay there and to chat with her in the library drinking brandy.

As part of Doors Open Baltimore, we were delighted to have the chance to visit this B&B. It was like stepping back in time. This lovely home was built around 1798 and was lovingly restored in 2005 by the owner, Linda Smith, along with Jacob, the Inn's manager. It opened as a B&B in 2010. Linda and Jacob gave us a complete history of the inn including that George and Martha Washington visited on their travel through Baltimore. It is located just south of the University of Maryland Hospital on the Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail. They told us that it was a safe house on the Underground Railroad. It has gone thru many ownerships and survived demolition when they thought I-95 would come right through it. It is truly a cozy and inviting home with a lovely setting for a B&B - you feel like you are in the country.

This bed and breakfast is fantastic. The owners did a great job of renovating a historical building to create a comfortable and tasteful abode with modern conveniences while retaining the charm and details of the building's background. The balance and touches of history and modernity are just the right mix, not overwhelming or stuffy (nor flowery). The large room we stayed in had tall windows that looked out on to their beautiful garden and the street. Even the bathroom was large and beautifully outfitted. Located within a quiet charming (i know, i said charming already...) little network of old little buildings and streets. Perhaps a bit like a miniature NYC West Village? There is a large front garden, so it' set back from the street. It's also walking distance to the stadium, convention center, waterfront, and med school. Parking, WiFi, TV, library, great big breakfast, cookies, water, cognac, thick sheets and towels, host is helpful and non-intrusive.

What an amazing find! My husband and I stayed here for our mini-moon. We scoured the internet looking for a nice play to stay in Baltimore, and were excited to book Rachael's Dowry based on the excellent customer reviews. This place did not disappoint in the least! Titia, one of the proprietors, contacted us shortly after we made our reservation with helpful information and directions to their private parking lot (no extra charge). We parked our car and never moved it because the B&B's location was super convenient...a short walk to Camden Yards and all of the attractions at the inner harbor. Our room (which we selected from the several available) was tastefully and comfortably decorated, with modern amenities that didn't take away from the historic/period touches. The rest of the B&B was wonderfully restored, and we were invited to walk around and enjoy it as if it were our own home. We felt so welcome! The breakfasts were incredible. I looked forward to seeing/smelling/tasting the delicious meal we'd be surprised with each morning. Everything was locally grown or made, and prepared fresh each morning by Norm, the main proprietor (I need to get his recipes). We'd usually move to the cozy shaded garden in back and let breakfast settle before heading out for the day. We had such a great overall experience, we intend to return to Rachael's Dowry at least once a year for a romantic get-away. This place was top notch.

This is a truly charming bed and breakfast. Nestled a few blocks away from the inner harbor of Baltimore, this b&b is quiet enough for a retreat, but still accessible enough to venture into the urban hustle and bustle. The rooms are tastefully furnished - we had the Letitia Mae room (it's the only one with a balcony). Each room has its private bathroom, direct tv channel and free WiFi. We thoroughly enjoyed this place. The library may have been little but it was spot-on with many classic books, a game board for chess and cards, and massive comfy arm chairs. And the complimentary sherry made was a very nice touch. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Since we had an early morning start, the inn keeper accommodated us with a 7.30 am breakfast - good quality yogurt parfait, muffins with honey butter and a Mediterranean frittata with fresh avocado and fruit. This was served in the dining room (in which afternoon tea and cookies are also available). The inn keeper also makes excellent gluten free mint-and-chocolate cookies:) delish! Make sure to buy a parking pass - this way you can always have a spot ready at the inn!

My husband and I just got home from a two night stay in the Carrie Frank suite. This was our second trip here. If we could give it more stars, we would. Linda, the owner/innkeeper is the sweetest, most attentive hostess. Her charming personality, culinary skills and attention to detail elevates this already charming inn to an over-the-top experience. Thank you, Linda, for another memorable stay.

Second course was the french toast. Absolutely delicious.

Where to begin! Coming to this bed and breakfast I did not know what to expect, but my hopes of having a cozy place to get away for a weekend were far exceeded. The owner is incredible, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history which she has expertly preserved through the time she has owned it. She was SO welcoming, accommodating and kind, and THE BREAKFAST WAS BEAUTIFUL and 5 star quality. All coronavirus safety precautions were taken. We stayed in the Letitia May suite which has direct access to a balcony. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

This is great Bed and Breakfast!!! My husband and I stayed there last weekend. It was our first time staying at a BNB. It was worth it! Linda, is very hospitable, kind and is always there to help. She accommodated us because we arrived pretty late. She emailed me the instructions of how to get in and where to get the room key. The house is huge and very pretty and cozy. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was pretty high, but she had a stepping stool to get up. There was an electric fire place. It was pretty cold outside, but the room was so toasty. The breakfast was super tasty. A fruit parfait to start with. And some juice, coffee or tea. Then we had carrot cake pancakes which were amazing. The second day was a frittata and a scone. I loved the scone! Ate mine and half of my husband's. I would recommend this place. It was a 15 to 20 minute walk to the inner harbor. This place is in a great area!

I had such a great 3 night stay here in the Leticia Mae room. The room, house, and owners were all lovely. Breakfast was also outstanding and they accommodate gluten free diets (including amazing muffins) which was much appreciated! It was a short walk to the convention center and the harbor. I would definitely stay again and have already recommended to others.

They had a small lot and our car, with belongings, were safe. Upon arriving we were worried what the place would look like inside. It was very nice. We were also happy to see that they had an elevator. We were warmly greeted and shown our room. The room was very clean. The bathroom was large and appeared to be marble or at least, very good stone. We had a jacuzzi and a separate shower. It was difficult maneuvering the jacuzzi as the faucets and knobs were very unique. The refrig and microwave were in the closet. We didn't find it until my husband went down to look for the fridge with complimentary water! Breakfast was very good. You ordered the night before and there were no mistakes. Breakfast alone was worth upwards of $10 each. The fruit was good and both our omelettes as well. I had the egg white and my husband - usual omelette. We shared a waffle. There was a Keurig and water available all day. We enjoyed our stay and walked into Fells Point - not a short walk (1 mile or so) but when eating fresh ice cream from the oldest market (that just opened) a walk was necessary!

There are plenty of lounge and rocking chairs throughout the property to just read a book under a tree or rock yourself to sleep. There's a respectable-sized pool outdoor overlooking the river (with a diving board at the deep end), and a spa and sauna indoor. The larger room (Holly and Ivy) is 2-rooms connected together and out to the balcony with clothes line to help dry your clothes after your water adventures. The children's tale-themed rooms are decorated with family belongings and heirloom (e.g., the Blue Willow room was the owner's daughter's room), so you feel right at home. Some of our family members stayed in beds in the library downstairs surrounded by old and newer books next an antique desk and yes, a spinning wheel. Around the corner there is a pier with a bench on a floating dock tied to it. Night time is magical, with or without the moon and stars, and you can just watch the boat or house lights on the river side glitter over the water. There is no A/C, but honestly, the breeze -- even during the summer where it's 90-100 degrees elsewhere -- provides enough natural coolant that you may only need the fans, which are provided in the rooms. Robin, the friendly and accommodating owner, is always ready with a quick smile and a story about the history of the family or house. Common sense rules are posted for enjoyment of all (quiet hours observed after 11pm, tie the boat by the shed, care to be taken with the fragile bathroom system, etc.) The farm has Pixie the goat and the 2 sheep (who have gone viral with their own video!) along with chickens and ducklings and Pete the sweet dog (with his own police record!) and a cat who just roam about the property. Eggs from the farm are abundant and the owner encouraged us to cook and eat them lest they get spoiled. The town with groceries (Giant, Safeway), with restaurants and fast food (Arby's, Saigon Palace, and the Chesapeake Seafood with their superfresh seafood among others) are about a 15 min drive north, so this place is both secluded and convenient. If there were any drawback, there are mostly related to the water-sport area as some gears felt a bit worn (there's some "old ignored Chesapeake" feel to it), e.g., it would help to have more adult-sized comfortable life vest and more 2-paddle oars (to match the number of seats on the kayaks/boats if all boats are to be used). The greenhouse area where the sauna and spa is also just that -- a greenhouse, with tools lying around (don't expect a lavish steam room) -- but to me, these add to the charm of this down-to-earth B&B that makes it feel closer to home. The 1921 B&B history book mentioned spiritual entities (a white dog, a lady in black) but during our stay they didn't manifest themselves or being bothersome (they were all part of the ancestral family of the owner after all) -- It's actually made the stay a bit exciting and Robin told some of the historical stories quite light heartedly, which is appreciated. A dreamy and memorable stay in this fantastic historic place, with a super friendly host and beautiful view all around.
