Rachel's Cafe is lovely - clean, neat, colorful with a multitude of seating choices. The menu is a large one with a lot of variety in addition to specials. Our server was in training so we were fortunate to have the two waitresses and they were both pleasant as well as informative. I ordered the the Maple Bacon Croissant but substituted the Everything Bagel for the croissant. It was good but would have been better if the bagel had been grilled as the croissant would have been according to the menu. It was also served with a very tiny fruit cup. My dining partner ordered the meat lover's omelet which was served with hash browns with very little taste. I did get to taste them and verified that. It was also felt that the omelet could have had more meat filling. We would return but would order different items.

I used to come here a LOT in its previous incarnation as Uptown Burger, and I do miss the fact that they were open for dinner. My understanding is that the owner decided change over to breakfast and lunch place, and reopened as Rachel's Cafe; and later, it was sold to another owner. There are some elements on the menu that still remain from the Uptown Burger days. So today, I came in for the first time in quite a while. I noticed two burgers that really caught my eye. So operating on fact that Kao's have four stomachs, I turned on my secret superpower: fatass mode. ........................aka, I ordered both of them. The two burgers that I got were the fig and onion (my absolute favorite, stretching back to the Uptown Burger days), and the Vermont maple. Okay, let's talk the Vermont maple first. This is a decently good, not-too-far-out-there flavor profile. It's more interesting than a plain burger, but it's not crazy. The maple flavor is there, but it doesn't overwhelm the burger. Mozzarella cheese also does well to dampen flavors. Overall, this is a really good burger for those who are either ready to branch out beyond a plain ol' burger or to try something more than yet another burger with a fried egg in it. The fig and onion.... oh boy, my love for this burger knows no bounds. This is a life-changing burger. (wait, what?) ... Okay, hear me out: bacon, caramelized onions, fig jam, gorgonzola cheese. Before this burger, I was actually pretty convinced that I disliked gorgonzola cheese. It's just a hard, somewhat crumbly, moldy, foot-smelling block of salt, right? All that changes when burger juices get soaked into that cheese. It softens the cheese, both literally physically and in flavor. Additionally, you have another huge contrasting flavor in the fig jam. This burger is a huge battle of sweet and savory with very robust flavors, and it was the first burger that I had that made me want to experiment with burger fixings the way that we do with pizza toppings. If you like robust flavors in your food, try this burger. Guarantee it's better than it sounds. Okay, now the sides. I got onion rings with one of my burgers, and fries with the other one. And I'm going to have to say... stick with the onion rings. The fries were, I think, 3/8" machine cut. And I don't know if it was just fried once or didn't do a cold water soak or oil was too low temperature, or a combination of them. The fries looked nice and brown, but they were soft. Like, I've had pan-fried home fries that were crispier. Not sure what's going on there. The onion rings, on the other hand, were nice and crispy, and just more satisfying. If you ever used to come here back in the Uptown Burger days, it still looks pretty much the same inside. The bar area is still where it used to be. I think the chairs at the bar area are still the same exact chairs, actually. The TVs are still where they were mounted before, too. They have an espresso machine there now, though. Didn't get a good look at which model, but it's a Nuova Simonelli (I also failed to notice which grinder they're using, unfortunately).

This is one of my husband's favorite spots for breakfast. My mother in law came with us and we all loved our food. The menu was extensive and they had lots of choices from bagel sandwiches, croissants, English muffins, omelettes, hash, etc. The waitress we had was very professional and polite for someone in her 20s. I loved my egg white omelette with veggies and chicken sausage. It came with a small serving of fresh fruit. My husband got the corned beef hash and he tought it was great, albeit a bit salty. My mother in law loved her croissant. Plenty of parking in the South County Commons parking area.

Were there very early on a Saturday morning so there were only a few other diners but the service was very friendly. Food was good. I had a very good latte. My daughter enjoyed the Belgian waffles; however, the bacon I received with my order tasted a bit off. Otherwise a cute little place.

Just left Rachel's in Wakefield - one of our worst breakfasts in years! Ordered corned beef hash with poached eggs. The food arrived and eggs were hard boiled. When server finally stopped by to inquire about our meals, I expressed my opinion of the hard boiled poached eggs and she said she'd have chef recook the eggs. 15 minutes later they arrived and they virtually inedible as they were translucent and runny - not cooked at all - revenge of the cook!? One other complaint - $1.50 up charge for rye bread which was pretty ordinary - pretty weird. Oh well. Attitude and food very disappointed.

Covid 19 update We had a Very nice breakfast. Sat outside at 10am on a cloudy Sunday morning. Sidewalk dining. The food was very good. Tasty breakfast potato's, perfect pancake, Thick slices of buttered rye toast and eggs cooked perfectly over hard. They are doing a terrific job amidst the Covid situation. I highly recommend.

Very friendly staff. Clean inside. Delicious food. Smoothies are yummy. My son had the watermelon smoothie with regular milk and I had black Cherry with with oat milk. We ate a Belgium waffle, avocado sandwich and egg white omelette. Homemade taste and great service.

We were visiting from PA and we came upon this hidden gem of a place! The food was absolutely amazing and the service was top notch! Very clean place with Modern decor! I highly recommend this place!!

This is fabulous eating establishment. Extremely well operated, gorgeous interior and the staff is incredibly professional and friendly. The food is off the charts great. I had the Portuguese sweet bread French toast with fresh strawberries. We loved that we could order REAL maple syrup! Every restaurant should have this option. The French toast was delicious and perfectly browned. My side of bacon was cooked perfectly - just the amount crispness. My husband had The Commons, 2 eggs fried over hard potatoes and multigrain toast. He also had a buttermilk pancake that was right up his alley! We are very appreciative of the service we received from Rickie, and the Owner/manager. Everyone seemed to work hard toward the end goal which was pleasing the customer. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Food was delicious. Our waitress was lovely. Restaurant was clean. But. Just an observation....Very inefficient use of staff. Two or three people behind the counter chatting with each other. Waited a bit for someone to come to our table to get drink order. How about having someone walk around refilling coffee? Or cleaning tables that sat empty without being cleared. Not to mention people standing at entrance waiting to be acknowledged. We will return, just not on a weekend. read more

Best breakfast my husband and I have had in a long time! The hash bowl is really home made hash and not the garbage from a can that most places try to pass off as home made. The food was amazing and fresh, staff is friendly and the restaurant is super clean! Added bonus they were playing really good music! We'll definitely be back. read more

We absolutely love Rachel's Cafe! the staff is all so friendly and helpful, and the food is better than anywhere around! their cinnamon roll pancakes are the tastiest delight we've ever had. our recommendation is the commons with scrambled eggs, rye toast and a cinnamon roll pancakes. Two stars but should be zero. Don't waste your time as this place has deteriorated! Have eaten here a number of times over last several months and raved about it! BUT this has been awful experience-brought my family members here this morning and they have started using hand held computers to take your order and bad system as waitresses cant even look at you trying to enter order in and when you get the order an HOUR later it is wrong and mixed up. The owner cook seems to have become backed up and overwhelmed and we didnt appreciate waitress being yelled at. Maybe the new new system helps the cook but customer service should be first and we are sorry we have come here. Food has become mediocre as well. Too bad. read more

Tasty breakfast food in a casual setting! I was down in Narragansett for the weekend and were surprised to find there were basically no nearby brunch options that interested me. That's a factor in my more realistically 4.5ish review. My SO is the one who suggested Rachel's, and I was honestly pleasantly surprised. The Belgian waffles were fine, but the omelette with chorizo and a side of toasted cornbread was the real standout. The cornbread was buttery and lightly toasted, which I found to be a nice touch. Both the food and menu are presented quite nicely. read more

Just had breakfast at Rachel's. ZBLT, The Usual, and a pancake, fruit cup and bacon. Everything was so fresh and delicious! Loved their take on the blt with fried zucchini and roasted pepper mayo. The fruit cup was yummy- not the usual tired old fruit. Our waitress was fast, efficient and kind. We will be back again. read more

Good food. Nothing great. What sucks about this place is the service. If your that miserable with your job then quit. Also, the hours say 8am and they decide to role in at 9. Even the employee was waiting around for an hour. Sadly this is going to be another failed business due to miss management and laziness. read more

Rachel's Cafe is a wonderful breakfast and lunch spot in South County Commons. Walking in you'll find it's clean and has a wonderful atmosphere. Both the breakfast and lunch options are phenomenal.What makes the restaurant so great besides the food is the awesome waitresses. Every single waitress I have seen goes out of their war to accommodate the customers. Rachels is also a great option if you are headed to the beach and looking to grab breakfast on the go with delicious iced coffee. There are also outdoor tables if you refer to sit outside during this time. Highly recommend! read more

Had good reviews for good homemade breakfast but when we got there the sausage was frozen kind we eat home, no homemade hash, bathroom filthy. In their defense they said they had a staff shortage so that would explain it. Shame, nice business like that will get a bad name because no wants to work. read more

Finally tried this cafe, and I won't be back. We went for breakfast, and although the restaurant was only half full, we had to wait 20 minutes just for the server to give us a menu. The sausage links were cold in some spots and warm in others - - low quality, microwaved frozen brown 'n servs! Ordered eggs, easy-over and the yolks were hard-cooked and the edges of the whites were brown and rippled. Potatoes tasted like pre-cooked, frozen squares. Friend ordered the egg sandwich...terrible! The "english muffin" was thin, dry and heated in a microwave which made it rubbery. Also was overcharged on the bill, but the server did fix that mistake when brought to her attention. If you like precooked food heated up, this is the place for you. read more

Great breakfast. Cute interior, loved the healthy options. I had the breakfast tacos ( added avocado $2 kind of pricey for the amount) & fresh fruit that was delicious. Friendly & persistent service ( we chatted a lot & it took us a while to look at the menu). I will definitely bring my husband back. Cute new local spot! I was impressed with the number of delicious-sounding options. There are also a bunch of vegetarian-friendly and healthy options. The ambiance is adorable, beachy-chic. Total disappointment. Tried it for breakfast on Sunday and despite the posting for muffins, "we don't do muffins on Sundays". Then take the sign down! Went back for lunch on Monday (holiday), for a second chance. Had good reviews last summer. Terrible grilled cheese, forgotten sandwich for my husband that when it finally came was sausage that should have been sliced for a sandwich but wasn't, forgotten cheese that was then just placed on top. No melt. Saw dissatisSteer clearfied customers leaving without paying. Found out later the business was sold after the summer. The new owners have a lot of work to do. read more

Beautiful atmosphere had a very homey feel the staff was quick and friendly. I have been there a handful times and the food was great. Hands down favorites are the French toast and the chicken Cesar wrap/salad. Highly recommend if you want amazing food and great service. read more

While we were sitting at the counter chatting up a local, she mentioned that Oatley's had just won the local Community Choice award. I can see why. One other thing to mention is their bread. I don't know what they offer in particular but a woman came in, asked "how many do you have left" and they said "one". She took it. It was a nice, homemade loaf of raisin bread for about $7. I think she would've bought 5 if she could. I think everyone who likes breakfast would like Oatley's II.

We came with a group of seven, which was a bit of a tight fit--this place is definitely better suited for smaller parties of four or fewer. Once we were seated, the service was quick and smooth, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The location has plenty of parking, which is always a plus, but the wait to be seated was a bit long.
