I came to this location to meet a friend of mine. It's a very large space, which was lovely. It was clean, and all the tables were well stocked. There are plenty of tables, so you'll be able to enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace. We got there a little bit early, so there wasn't a line which was great. Came here for lunch yesterday and it was my first time. It's a Chipotle-style setup and while I was a little overwhelmed at first, the process was fairly simple! I told the employee I wanted a "bowl" and she asked if I wanted rice or greens, I picked greens. Then, we moved on to proteins, dressings, etc...I got tomatoes, cucumbers, chicken, some tabouli (had an upcharge) and a sauce and came away with a pretty scrumptious and healthy bowl. I had no idea what it would cost by the time I came to the cashier and I prayed it would be reasonable. Got dinged at about $14, which was about $4 more than I wanted to pay for lunch, but it was worth it and healthy! I'd recommend Rachel's for a quick and healthy bite! This is the best falafel wrap in town. Here's what you do. Get the spinach wrap add the sautéed veggies add lettuce, tomato, pickles, Tzatziki and maybe some roasted red pepper and you have a sandwich that will keep calling your name to come back over and over. Don't forget to get the toasted pita chips with the garlic dip .... so good. And if you have a sweet tooth the rice pudding is pretty darn good. The staff is so sweet starting with Rachel ,who is usually at the original Main Street store ,and every one else has always been so nice and pleasant even when its Friday at lunchtime. Was very disappointed in my visit to this new location. I've had Rachel's from their restaurant on Main Street in williamsville that was superb - always a traditional Greek dinner. My party was so excited to eat here after a UB Bulls game. However, the service was horrible. Not friendly. Very inexperienced. Food was served 'fresh' as you moved along a cafeteria line of sorts. My food was just plopped into a bowl almost like the chow line in the Army. Watching the servers handling my food made it quite unappetizing. I realize that at the time I dined it was a pretty new opening so it may have improved. read more

I just read another reviewer's comments comparing the sparkling metallic new Grill on Sheridan with the classic Main Street location that gave you the warm fuzzies. Believe me in the future I will take Main Street over Sheridan Drive. Perhaps it was the fact that if memory served me and one of the serving staff and my dining companion agreed with me that there was no charge for a pita on Main Street but here on Sheridan it was a dollar. Ok, so a buck is not a lot of money but when it's a nice touch on Main Street why not tell your customers that you truly love them with that pita tossed in? So, you still see the four stars and that's because Rachel's has come up with an amazing concept of delicious food served at a fast food pace but with flavors that you aren't going to find anywhere else. And, no I don't like the walk across the line and watch them fill up my plate but this place feels clean ... this place's food makes you want to come back and Rachel's really knows how to do hummus. Oh yea ... really good hummus. If you look around town you will find Rachels on almost every street corner perhaps the new Timmy's phenomenon. This spot is around the corner from where I work, and with all of the Rachel's hype lately we eventually decided to take a trip over here! It's chipotle style, or subway style, or whatever style you'd call it. They have all the ingredients on the line and you walk down the line, telling the server what you want in your meal. What's great here is you can do wraps, rice bowls, even pita wraps if you want. There's a good variety and it's a nice breath of fresh air. I usually like to go for a rice bowl with my favorite veggies and chicken. I've had the Rachel's rice before and just wasn't a big fan of it, so I usually go for the white. Everything is usually pretty fresh, though typically when I visit the shop is just opening for the day. Know that if you're going to go for a pita wrap, don't try to fill it up too much because those puppies are SUPER filling...although one day I ordered one, I shamelessly ate the whole thing. They're doing takeout during this Covid-19 crisis so it's a nice little saving grace as opposed to the various fast food options I have which are also in the area. read more

I stopped by at 7:35pm and the door sign said they close at 9pm. However, when I walked in, they were cleaning and all the food was put aside on the back corner. When asked what time they close, they said 8pm. My order tasted like left overs. Everything was cold and the chicken was very dry. I won't complain about the folks working there. I do appreciate them going to work. Nice new restaurant but the food was a bit difficult disappointing. The servers didnt really seem to put any effort interest preparing a nice dish. The ingredients were basically just heaped in a bowl and the proportions didn't seem right. For instance I got about a cup of Feta cheese in my bowl. When a new Rachel's location opened near me I was excited to try it. I've actually never been to any of there other locations. Inside, you can pick a rice, pita or salad bowl and then go along to pick the different toppings, meats or a side too if you want. I ended up getting the salad bowl. The service was a little slow for a setting that is supposed to be a little more fast paced like other resturants modeled the same way. I ended up getting the chicken shawarma because they were out of falafel. The size of the salad was a little small for the price I paid. The lady behind me was not too happy since I took the last scoop of that chicken. The staff couldn't tell me what allergens were in the dressings which was a bit of a let down so I ended up getting the plain oil. When cashing out I had to wait another 5 minutes for them to heat up the side of pita that came with the salad. Not sure why they didn't get the side pita together before. Overall, the food was decent which you are able to customize (when they have what you want), but the service, including staff knowledge and prices need some improvement. read more

Went to the Amherst location again today. I have heard rumors that they downsized the falafel from 4 to 3 and I was really hoping it was not true. Unfortunately when I got my salad there are only three falafel. The salad cost over $10 yet they are skimping on the protein. Not cool Rachel's. As always the food was yummy. I got a salad with a falafel obviously. I topped it with several different types of peppers, tomato and pickles and feta cheese. It comes with 1/2 of a slice of pita bread. I really enjoyed my meal and it definitely made me fall but it does make me mad that their portions are smaller and their prices are not. We're on the block is that Rachel is going downhill and I'm really hoping this isn't the case. read more
