So...4 stars because it's a new local place and we love that. They had our table ready with our reservation. Always good. Really friendly servers. Even told us to move our car from the lot next door when they saw us park there. Very nice. Prices are all reasonable and the food is good. Not great. Not writing home about it. But good. Caesar salad was typically average. Rigatoni vodka was good. And angel and devil pizza also good. Just nothing exceptional. They did have specials that we did not try but they might be worth it. The lamb chops that went by looked very good. They have mezcal which hubby likes. Another plus. And some homemade desserts which we also did not try. About two months ago my wife and I had dinner with friends, who are like family, and it was about a dozen of us, including a 2 year old and two boys who are about 6 or 7. We got a last minute Saturday reservation for an early dinner. Radici could be a place for a romantic dinner later in the evening or a family group like ours. This place was absolutely amazing! Honestly one of the best new places in Forest Hills. I actually made a reservation for 7 people, but then I cancelled because I just wasn't sure if it was going to be 7 people by that time. They called me back, but I was having service issues so I wasn't able to call them back. When I saw that, i thought WOW they really cared that I cancelled the reservation and I felt so bad that I cancelled =( Anywho fast forward and I was hungry. I had some family that was visiting so I suggested that we go. I only had 3 other members with me and I wanted to take them somewhere nice, so I was hoping when we went that we would just walk in. When we walked in, the space was small but quaint and cozy. I asked for a table for 4, but I also explained that I made a reservation earlier and cancelled. I met the owner Arthur, who knew who I was and I was REALLY SURPRISED. He ended up giving us some champagne on the house and did a cheers with us. He was so polite and introduced himself and shook our hands which is unlike a lot of service that I get. He arranged for us to get a table and THAT WAS SO APPRECIATED seeing as we were walk ins. We were seated and immediately taken care of. We ordered our food and the waitress Nina explained all the specials to us. They constantly filled our water glasses and just made sure we were ok. Now the food was absolutely amazing! i ordered the octopus with hummus and grilled vegetables for an appetizer and IT WAS EVERYTHING! So delicious and i had the chicken francese for my main course and ofc that was delicious! Next time I will see if I can have with some linguini or fettucine but the overall dish was delicious! My brother and his wife had something similar and nothing ws left on the plate. While we were seated, Arthur really made it a point to make sure we were ok. My sister wanted something sweet and they made her something she would like. Arthur came over and explained that they were a new restaurant, so he really cared that I cancelled but overall appreciated that I still came. He even let us try a limoncello he made himself which was a nice touch! The service me and my family received was top notch in my opinion. Had a great time here a few days ago! We got the burrata, two carbonaras, and the tiramisu for dessert. The burrata cheese itself wasn't very special, but it went so well with the seasoned flatbread they gave us. The carbonaras were solid, not quite cheesy enough for my taste and the meat was very fatty. Finally, the tiramisu was terrific! A strong, but not overpowering coffee flavor with rich marscapone. I had a very enjoyable dinner here! My family and I used to come here when it was La Vigna, and we were not disappointed! Once you step in, the vibe of the restaurant is very nice and warm. The staff are all so kind and willing to answer any questions you have! We felt at ease almost immediately. We ordered the arancini (rice balls), pasta bolognese, bolognese lasagna, and a seafood pasta (I forgot the name). Overall, we were happy with everything. The arancini was good. It was very lightly fried and the inside is flavorful with the perfect amount of cheese and meat. My bolognese was tasty and the pasta noodles were cooked perfectly. The seafood pasta was very plentiful and came with an abundant amount of pasta noodles and seafood. The only complaint we had was that the lasagna was not evenly heated, some parts of it were room temperature while other parts of it was warm. Despite this, it was still very good. The ambiance is really nice inside and feels very comfy and cozy, great spot for a date night or night out with friends where you can hear your conversation! Unfortunately the food is very mediocre and not great. Even worse, they don't use pure extra virgin olive oil! We stumbled upon Radici on our way to another Italian restaurant we were planning to have a late lunch at. We were enticed by the chalkboard outside that noted rib eye ragu pappardelle and the variety on the menu. We ordered the roasted beet salad, tortellini with brown butter and sage stuffed with spinach and ricotta, and chicken parm that came with a side of spaghetti. The salad barely had any dressing and we were mostly eating dry arugula. The beets and goat cheese were delicious, though. We asked for olive oil to drizzle on the salad. The waiter came by with a bottle of olive oil that tasted like canola oil. It definitely was not pure extra virgin olive oil and likely was cut with canola or grapeseed oil. How disappointing for an Italian restaurant. Then my tortellini was so mushy and I could barely taste the sage and brown butter. It was sitting on a very watery sauce. It's likely that they cooked it with brown butter and watered it down. It also had barely any salt and flavor. My husband who's Italian ordered the chicken parm. He said the chicken was mushy and not crispy like chicken parm is supposed to be. His side of spaghetti was also watery at the bottom. He opted for olive oil and garlic instead of red sauce. It was olive oil and water in the sauce. The restaurant itself seems to be family friendly and has lot of natural light. Service was okay. Not very attentive. Radici is our go-to local spot for authentic, fresh Italian food! Their homemade pizza and pasta are amazing.. One of only two pizzas in NYC we truly love (the other is John's of Bleecker Street). Our usual orders are: Diavola (my favorite), Margherita, Prosciutto, Napoletano calzone, Rigatoni, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and fried calamari. The Pollo alla Parmigiana is incredible, and the Bistecca is always a hit with my son. We enjoy Radici whether we sit in or order delivery, especially when we're craving pizza. I also liked the eggplant parm but would recommend the tortellini above it for sure. The Nutella pizza is very large - they warn you of this but really it cannot be understated. It's dessert for six imho. I would lean panna cotta next time I go. I am not a good judge of wine but I really liked the montepulciano I had. Radici's pizza is truly authentic Italian. For those who know the difference, the crust, probably the most important part of any pizza, is spongy not hard and tasteless, like most Italo-American pizza's are. We saw them making the homemade pasta while we ate. The food is delicious. Everything we had was very good but the stand out is the arancini (fried rice balls). Update: Im giving one star and that's generous. I called the restaurant to inform them of this issue. The first gentleman I spoke with was very apologetic and offered for me to come in and receive another pizza or get a refund. I chose the latter. He said he had to speak with his manager. The manager got on the phone and said sorry this is the way the pizza is and offered nothing despite the pizza being inedible. This is a tell tale sign of how this restaurant operates. Save your hard earned money and go someplace that values its customers and their money. This was my second attempt at this place after a mediocre first dinner. I ordered the Angel and Devil personal pizza to go for lunch. What I received was a burnt mess and the pizza was not good. It was soggy. There was no crispness to the crust. I really wanted to like this place. The waitress did put the pizza in containers for easier transport- so at least 2 stars for the staff. But to think that the chef would think this is acceptable to give to a customer is unreal. What a waste of money. $24 down the drain. Radici, you need to do better. I won't be returning. read more

The best Italian food in the neighborhood. My family and I tried out Radici over the weekend and it was amazingly delicious. We had the special salad which was spectacular. My daughter and I shared the lasagna it was the tastiest lasagna I've ever had. My husband has the baby octopus pasta and he was impressed by its freshness and taste. He's also a great home cook and is not easily won over by Italian restaurant food but he and we were all extremely satisfied. We will be back. read more

Tried out his newish Italian place on Metro on a recent weekend night. The food was very good but the service was lacking which made the entire experience just OK. The greeting upon entrance was not warm and seemed somewhat confused about where to put us. We were also not thanked or acknowledged after dinner as we were leaving. Our server was distracted and largely absent. If there were specials we weren't told about them. The busboys were friendly and incredibly hard working, which really saved the night. Maybe they should can the waiters and promote the busboys? We didn't receive our cocktails until we were mostly done with our appetizers. That's a huge no-no and a pet peeve of mine. We had a pizza to start, three different pastas, and tiramisu for dessert. All of the food was very tasty. So we'll probably give this place another try for the food; hopefully we just caught the servers on a bad night. read more

Owner or manager (not sure who he was but he seemed important) was ale extremely nice. They were all so thoughtful too when it came to my 82 year old dad who was having a bit of a hard time hearing and they helped him with getting to the men's room for me. Would absolutely return. Oh! Yeah... We had a Caesar salad (great dressing and portion size) and the pappardelle special with ribeye ragu, which was outstanding. For dessert the tiramisu was very yummy!
