It was flavorful and the focaccia had the perfect texture without being too greasy. We saved the morning bun and cinnamon bun for the following day and it stayed fresh. Back in CA now, and I still daydream about their focaccia. Sadly not a New Yorker, so I'll just have to reminisce about Radio Bakery's amazing sandwiches. Roast beef is not my usual go-to meat, but this particular focaccia changed my mind. I came back the next day just for this. Warm, fluffy bread with chimichurri sauce balanced with the vinegary bitterness from the radicchio. Perfection! The burrata & prosciutto focaccia is my second favorite: creamy, salty, and finger-licking good. The stirato sandwiches are also delicious and less messy to eat. I liked the ham & rosemary more than the roasted asparagus, but always appreciate a good vegetarian option. They have offerings that rotate seasonally or just for one weekend - and they sell out fast. Breakfast sandwiches in the morning and lunch sandwiches after 11AM. I love their ham and rosemary butter sandwich as well as the burrata and proscuitto. The bread is also delicious. You can't go wrong with any pastries here but some of my favorites are the triple chocolate croissant and the vanilla custard croissant (seasonal). The pastries are super flaky and the flavors are delicious without being too sweet. Very sad to give this rating - but the workers here really need an attitude adjustment. Let me preface by saying that I'm a Greenpoint local who lives only 5 minutes away. I've been coming here since it opened and was always happy to give Radio Bakery my business. Many times I've asked the workers simple and basic questions, only for Kim the owner and baker to come and support them. They cannot identify ingredients and do not know what a financier is...not the mention, some of their rude and curt attitude. I've seen people come from out of town, other boroughs, who were so turned off by the rude attitude of the workers, they've left empty handed. The baker Kim, has always been super sweet and I wish she could clone 10 of herself to be a worker here. This is the bakery I always HAVE to take friends visiting! The only thing is needing to get there by 9am for the morning pastries that typically sell out. Over the seasons, I've tried the heirloom tomato, caramelized onion, and apple pastries which have all been my top favorites. The salmon focaccia has also been a staple for a me. A nice twist on your typical NY everything bagel with salmon & scallion cream cheese except with a soft, crispy focaccia bread. I will say the prices are a little steep, though they're the only bakery that exceeds my expectations of buttery soft, fresh pastries with exciting flavors that change each season. Came here twice now and I think it's a wonderful bakery deserving of the hype, but I would recommend coming before 9am on weekends or visiting on a weekday. My favorite is from my most recent visit and is a seasonal item, their heirloom tomato pastry. The tomato was so fresh and paired nicely with the cheese, and everything tastes great over a flaky pastry. Their stone custard pastry was also good. The fruit was super juicy. I had another custard pastry (lemon?) on a previous visit and remember that being my favorite. You can't really go wrong with their focaccias, the most recent visit I tried a Shakshuka. It was super flavorful with herbs (and I love a good tomato), but as you can imagine, replicating Shakshuka in bread form made it a bit soggy. It even had eggs in it! I realized though they have breakfast focaccias in the morning and more lunch/sandwich type focaccias later in the day (after 11am I believe) Pistachio croissant was good - the whole pistachios on top really brought out the pistachio flavor in each bite. It was actually very subtly sweet and did not taste overly artificial, unlike some almond croissants can be (different, I know, but I don't feel like pistachio croissants are that common). Everything was super flaky, fresh, crispy, pure deliciousness. The service is pretty friendly and efficient, they try their best to keep the line moving. I haven't had any of their drinks but they have a classic cafe menu. There's some countertop space inside, and a few tables outside. I've had this place on my radar for a while but haven't made it out here because I've been scared of the lines you see on social media - don't let that stop you! Came around lunch time on a weekday and waited about 5 minutes on line. We got the turkey kelp focaccia sandwich, burrata prosciutto, earl grey morning bun, and pistachio croissant. As much as I love burrata and prosciutto, I think the turkey kelp was the winner for me. The sandwich was flavorful and packed. I love how you got your bang for your buck with the turkey. I was a tad disappointed about the burrata prosciutto because of how little prosciutto was in it! There were maybe two pieces of prosciutto inside. I still enjoyed it but wish there was a bit more volume to it as it was a $15 sandwich. The pastries were also worth noting as the pistachio was still great even after eating it the next day. The earl grey morning bun also had a nice subtle flavor which was not too overpowering. Earl grey tends to be a stronger flavor than most teas so the subtleness of it was quite pleasant. I remember it being so good the first time. This second time I still thought it was a good sandwich, in principle, but found the focaccia a bit too salty and the sandwich overall a bit too rich. Radio Bakery is amazing and their double baked pistachio croissant is what brought me here. This is a bakery with beautiful bread choices, the Stirato and seeded Stirato which is an Italian style sourdough baguette looks amazing. As a matter of fact, everything in the display case looks inviting. There are lots of breakfast and lunch choices! Back in the dat, there was a UWS bakery that closed. Grandaisy bakery (which I loved) offered savory lunch items and I'd also bring home a loaf of bread for dinner. Radio bakery in Greenpoint is similar as well as creating artisanal and old world crafted breads. Their croissant selections, like Vanilla Custard and Vanilla Citrus are very tempting but my first time here has me going for a double baked pistachio croissant. I order a latte to chase it down and settle in by the small, front window counter. I sit and take a bite of the croissant. Mr Dessert claims any croissant worth the dough must have flakes when you bite into the croissant. I took a bite, saw flakes and was in pistachio heaven! The croissant being made at Radio Bakery is truly an award winning product. Over the weekend I was with my son and said, lets have coffee at this new bakery I found in Greenpoint. I've been living in New York for over ten years, and in Williamsburg for at least seven. As an Italian, I really care about good food and I had been curious about RadioBakery for a long time because of all the hype around it on YouTube and social media. This morning I woke up around 7:30, took a $10 Uber to get there, and spent another $34 on two focacce and a tomato sfogliata. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The sfogliata was delicious, but both focacce were completely burnt. In the end, I basically paid $40 just to enjoy one pastry. Okay after having been here twice I can say Radio is super overrated IM SORRY We're not going to bother talking about the first time I came because well the items I'd come for were all sold out so it was a whatever trip. The second time I came, I made it my mission to arrive as close to 7:30 as possible so I got there at 8 /8:10 or so on a Monday and let me just say, that's the ideal time to come because there's no lines and everything is still available for purchase (anything that's put out on the counter at 7:30 that is) At around 8:30 to 9 I was seeing the cafe packing up to the brim so be sure to come before then. One thing I need to make note of is that nothing will be warm and you cannot get it heated up which makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE. I'll go into it later but first, what I've tried. On my first try, I had the scallion twist and the cheesy bear claw. Good flavor on the latter with the cheese and mustardy flavors and a strong sesame taste on the first but with it being cold, it was all just meh and I wouldn't ever make the commute or wake up early to try and snag these again. Though to be fair even if I lived across the street, I wouldn't get it again. Also, the only reason I got this on my first trip was because everything else I wanted got sold out before my eyes (the garlic tomato focaccia and breakfast foccacia sandwiches). On my second trip, I got my long awaited shakshuka focaccia and the everything focaccia and while the focaccia itself was beautifully soft, pillowy and tender, man everything was so insanely salty I was feeling like the guy on the warheads logo. The shakshuka focaccia had me scratching my head at first because egg is such an important part of the north african dish but I was pleasantly surprised to find the egg INSIDE the focaccia which was a stroke of genius. However taste wise/composition, why in the WORLD is there CHILLI OIL on it lol! There was a spread of tomato but otherwise all the flavor was coming from a huge clump of really tart chili oil and I was not a fan. Look no one is expecting authentic shakshuka on top of a foccacia from a place that isn't north african but it felt like sacrilege because they just got it so wrong. I would've been down for it had it actually tasted good but nope. The everything foccacia was packed full of scallion cream cheese which I loved but ugh I wish they toned down on the everything topping because again WAAAAYYY too salty. Otherwise I did like this one but it was a little hard to get through. I got the earl grey morning bun and the chocolate croissant too just because I knew I'd likely never come back again after this visit so figured I'd just give the sweet stuff a shot and well, I wasn't super impressed. The flavor on the earl grey morning bun was awesome, but the bun itself was a lot harder and crustier than I would've liked. I prefer my morning buns softer and more delicate and this one was just way too firm for my liking. As for the chocolate croissant, such a miss. It was decent when warmed up though. But if I'm buying pastries I want to eat them on the spot, not take them home for later. Anyways, love the concept but it was a miss for me and overhyped :( I will come back if they do one of those gorgeous dessert tarts though because they look too good for me to resist. Omg I think I've found my NEW FAVORITE BAKERY. Radio was on our side of town during our most recent stay in Brooklyn so we had to see what the hype was all about. The hype was so real. We showed up around 10a on a Sunday morning. The line was already down the block, but it moved very quickly. Once inside, we deliberated over the overwhelming number of options. Focaccia w/ lox and cream cheese--the focaccia here is to die for. Chewy and fluffy with a super crisp exterior. It was seasoned like an everything bagel and was sandwiching a generous layer of cream cheese, slices of smoked salmon, and fresh dill. It was the perfect lox bagel alternative. Tomato tart-- great crisp on the pastry. The tomato slice had a natural sweetness that was lovely atop a light cheese custard. Twice-baked pistachio croissant-- loooved how Radio bakery stuffs these babies with pistachio paste. If you're a fan of pistachio, you need to get this!! The croissant texture held up even after a few days-- although I doubt you'll be keeping them around for long once you get your hands on them. Came two days in a row In hopes that we would get to try the shakahuka focaccia, but we failed on both days. We had the scallion cream cheese and everything focaccia, plain tomato one, and sausage and chives. The scallion cream cheese was incredible and the focaccia tasted exactly like a fresh warm bagel. It really pains me to update my review, especially given I was a repeat and loyal customer (been there probably more times than I can count on two hands). I would often make a morning out of a Radio Bakery excursion and *plan half my day around this bakery.* Not to mention, as someone somewhat known to people in my circle as always having opinions on what food is good in NYC, I have brought them plenty of business. But my most recent experience has left a bad taste in my mouth; it was the first (and last) time I entered their store and left empty handed. I will take my business elsewhere for the foreseeable future. I had been craving their 10 am focaccia (served from 10 am until sold out) for months (likely in part due to the INTENTIONAL marketing on their social media). My partner and I went out of our way to try to make it to their store by 10 am for breakfast. By the time we got through the line and to the counter at 10:20 am, ALL of their focaccia were sold out. That half of their counter was completely empty and we were told their focaccia sandwiches would start selling at 11 am. Meanwhile, the other half of their counter selling their croissants and other non-focaccia goods were still full. It's just incredibly ridiculous and frustrating that they would advertise so aggressively a product they would intentionally make in SUCH a limited amount that it would sell out in a mere TWENTY MINUTES, while their less popular goods seemed to be made in relative excess. Meanwhile, you have (some loyal) customers standing in line in the windy freezing cold just to pay you for what you're marketing. I also overheard a staff member tell another customer who wanted to wait inside the store for their 11 am lunch focaccia sandwiches, that they needed to GO BACK IN LINE to do so. Like I said, it was incredibly cold and the line had grown significantly at that point. Why would you punish people for getting to your store EARLY? It's borderline malicious. It's not smart business to limit your products so that they are sold out in TWENTY MINUTES. You screw yourself over by losing out on people PAYING you for your food. And make customers incredibly frustrated and unhappy. It definitely makes me feel like they do this on purpose for their own ego to continue to see long lines out their door, and do not prioritize customer satisfaction. Do they hate their own customers? Their stuff is good, but this is NYC - there are other good bakeries, ones who don't actively hate their customer base, and that's where I'll be going in the future. read more

One of the best bakeries in NYC. Pastry chef Kelly Mencin of Rolo's Restaurant in Ridgewood opened Radio Bakery in 2023, and lines have been out the door (and around the block) since. The Greenpoint gem identifies as a New York style bakery, offering fresh takes on classic viennoiseries that you won't find anywhere else. I arrived just after opening (7:30am) on a Wednesday, and there was NO LINE. I walked by a few days later at 10am and there were 50 people in line. So, arrive early for the best selection and minimal/no waiting. I purchased 6 different pastries. I loved the savory Shakshuka Foccacia, which was loaded with richly spiced tomato sauce and filled with an entire egg. The buttery Sesame Scallion Twist, and the sugared Earl Grey Morning Bun, which actually tasted like black tea, were life changing. Honorable mentions to the Twice Baked Pistachio and Meyer Lemon Olive Oil croissants; both 10/10's, with no room for improvement. I can see why people line up here and wait. There are seldom any places in nyc that I think are worth the wait, but this place is not one of them. It's been over a month since I've been here and I still think about their focaccia bread on a daily basis. I got on line around 7:30am and was out with pastries around 8:15 am. The line moves quickly, or it feels like it does so the wait doesn't seem as long. I was able to try their Mother's Day special--strawberry crossaint. The layers of pastry are flaky, chewy, crispy and perfectly paired with a custard filling and topped with some delicious and juicy strawberries. My favorite though was the focaccia bread with cream cheese and lox. My God, the bread was just perfect. The flavor was balanced between the cream cheese and lox. Highly recommend! read more
