Much like the atmosphere shared by the rest of the commons, Radish is a modern, eco-conscious paradise, full of forest green hues and splashes of pink from their distinctive logo design. The restaurant itself makes efficient use of an open-plan space, and the light, warm finish on the wood really compliments the gigantic windows. In pandemic times, the best part of the space happens to be the industrial-style seating. They have both bar-style chairs at long tables for distancing or smaller cafe spaces for those in your bubble. What a restaurant that has planned for the times. In terms of food, think of a hipper, more California version of Chipotle. The veggies are fresh, the salmon offerings usually come with tamari, and your stomach will thank you. Radish Kitchen gives you not one, not two, but four options for each of their signature items. You can make, say, a West Coast Radish (a personal favorite) into a salad, a bowl, a wrap, or grab a family-style option. They are vegetarian and dairy-free friendly. They also mark anything with nuts on the menu. I think you'll have to do some research ahead of time to ensure all sauces and options are vegan-friendly. The pièce de résistance for me is actually a small alcove of local, small business, and otherwise thoughtfully curated gourmand goods to look through while you're in line. First time here and it exceeded my expectations! Did a pick up order, but couldn't figure out where to park to pick up. Spots close to the restaurant were taken, so wish they had a pick up spot. The place is shower cute and very clean. Staff is nice and my order was at the pick up area on a shelf. I had their limeade which was refreshing and not too sweet. Ordered their Falafel wrap and it was delicious. Better than I expected. I will say it was one of the best falafels I have had in the area. All the veggies were fresh and pita was fantastic. Let me start by saying that I am on medication that messes with my taste buds. So my review is a little skewed in that way. Came in with friends. The place was decorated very cute. Loved that they had outdoor seating. The ordering and getting the food brought to the table outside was very efficient and a quick process. I got the falafel wrap with lettuce, cucumber, goat cheese. My dining partner got a Cobb salad with steak. They said the steak was very tender. Another got the sweet potato salad with various mixings. Most of us had leftovers. And 2/4 of us love our food. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. To me it was very bland and needing some kind of seasoning. The lemon vinaigrette I didn't care for. It had an odd taste to me. I could taste the lemon but something was off putting so I didn't use it. My falafel were a touch on the dry side but pretty decent. Addicted is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this place! SO lucky to have this close by in sylvan supply. Rad Cobb + lemon vinaigrette is truly the best combination of food I think I have ever had! I crave this meal on a daily basis. This place is great also because they have rice bowls and wraps which are perfect for my husband that doesn't like salad. I really want to build my own but I've ordered the Rad Thai every time. It comes with grilled steak, napa cabbage, mango, toasted almonds, mint, and a jalapeno ginger dressing. I honestly just want an extra serving of the dressing. It's the perfect pairing! It adds the flavor the bowl needs to soak into the napa cabbage. Would I like a little more mango? Of course. Who wouldn't? The steak is cooked nicely and it's not dry and right consistency of chewiness. The grains were great and napa cabbage was fresh with a light crunch. I've had their lemonade and my friend ordered their tea and Rad Cobb. We were pleased with the drinks. They taste pretty standard. Shout out to the ice. I LOVE cubed ice aka Sonic ice. If you know, you know. I honestly want to try the Falafel Fattoush + baked crispy chicken. Who is with me? I also want to build my own but feel that I would try to add everything. Went out for date night and wanted to try a healthier alternative. I'm not quite sure what I expected when we came here but I didn't leave feeling satisfied. The concept is cute and the theming of the restaurant was very tasteful but overall we were underwhelmed. I really appreciated the variety of options whether it be a salad bowl, burrito, grain bowl etc. I ordered a grain bowl (1/2 grain 1/2 kale) with grilled chicken, avocado, cucumber, goat cheese and some type of red pepper hummus. My husband got a regular salad with mixed greens for the base, grilled chicken, bacon bits, hard boiled egg, parmesan cheese, and tortilla strips. For the drinks we got the Chardonnay wine and the prebiotic root beer. While we figured it would be a little more expensive than a Panera or something like that, we were shocked when the bill came to almost $50. Attempting to keep an open mind we tried our drinks...the wine was overly sweet and tasted like the cheap boxed wine you buy in college cause it's all you can afford and the root beer basically tasted flat. I mean the food was alright, the portions were average. On the plus side, you could tell it was fresh but we left kinda shocked how we basically spent $50 and we're still hungry. I loved the vast array of toppings we were able to choose from. To finish the day , we got some frozen yogurt. My one caveat with the froyo was that I wish there was a little more cream, it wasn't as soft as I had hoped. I built my own salad bowl with salmon and carrot ginger miso dressing. The dressing had great flavor, but my salmon was honestly pretty dried out. It was fine because I had the dressing to help with the texture, but I wouldn't order that again. All of the other proteins looked interesting, like the baked falafel. Make sure to do your hair before you come here because all of the beautiful people that eat lunch here... I mean there isn't a sign that says that, but if you want to people watch, this is a great place to overpay for a salad or bowl and see the latest fashion trends if you like to shop off of people in the natural world. I mean it's very trendy. Just outside the nations , this is a growing hot spot for many new restaurants and concept bars. It's located in an outdoor mall so there is plenty to do if you want to make an afternoon of it. As far as the food..it was delicious. I had the salmon teriyaki bowl. By the time I got a canned Kombucha and tipped it was about $23. And you have to be prepared to wait. The line was really long during the lunch rush. But I saved a lot of money on desert because of all the eye candy. There is great seating outside in the courtyard so it's nice to sit out there on a sunny day rather than the busy dining room . They will bring your food out to you and that requires mega detective skills if they can find you in that sea of people. So gotta give them props for that. I like the freshness of the ingredients, but I was shocked at how small the salad portion was (there was so little greens at the bottom of my bowl - I requested the kale, which was shredded), that it almost felt like a garnish. I had also asked to swap out crispy onions (which was one of the standard items on the salad I ordered) for the pickled onions instead - I was charged extra for the swap. I walked out of the restaurant with a nearly $20 bill for a very meager salad (most places would have considered this a side or small salad, not a full). It wasn't as filling as I had hoped it would be. I can't imagine what it would cost to build a salad at this location. I think I'll continue to go to Chopt for a more hearty salad (especially as a main course), but I guess it's good to have a backup spot just in case/if I'm not as hungry. read more
