After a few years I gave them another chance and they screwed it up again. I ordered thin crust and they gave me regular, unforgivable. Also the crust tastes like cardboard and the toppings have gotten worse. This place completely sucks. read more

We love Rafael's!! Especially when we order to deliver to work!! THE BEST part is that they've always delivered on time!! And of course the pizza, wings and salads are always great!! I did notice that the meats on the pizza were scarce and I was a little disappointed because 1 large pizza is $25- so I expected more meat on the pizza and it was only one item so it was noticeable. But despite that, overall the food quality and service is great! read more

The staff were extremely accommodating and kind to our large group taking up all the tables inside the restaurant. The food was delicious! I order few pizzas and a lntepaata salad, I clearly order it with not olives as I'm allergic , of course they put olives I call they were gonna do a refund on the salad.... 3-4 months later I'm still waiting for my refund . After a long day of walking at the Costa Mesa Plaza, we want to load up on carbs and decided to come here. We ordered the vegetarian pizza, chicken Alfredo pizza, chicken Alfredo pasta, and potato wedges. I have to say - the vegetarian pizza was excellent. Veggies were well cut, well spread out, and the pizza had just the right amount of cheese. The dough was crunchy but not too hard. Very refreshing with a lot of flavor exploding in your mouth. The chicken Alfredo pizza and pasta were on par, and the potato wedges well warm, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. My whole family really had a great and welcoming experience because the owner made us feel welcome. Highly recommend this location to pizza lovers! read more

Have ordered multiple times from Rafael's for office lunch meetings. Unfortunately last week the delivery showed up in pretty bad shape. Immediately reached out to the manager who jumped in and took care of the situation. Not a problem at all with Rafaels, just an unfortunate incident with the delivery company. The food was okay. We ordered a large vegetarian pizza and an order of wings. The veggies on the pizza were fresh, but the pizza was very salty. Our server brought us a container of water but we had to ask her to switch it out because the lid was very dusty and dirty. The restrooms were also very dirty and in need of a good cleaning/scrub down. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

Venue: Super small spot and better for pick up orders. Although there is some seating, there are no bathrooms to wash your hands prior to eating. Food: I tried the "Rafael's Special" but with the gluten-free crust. If you are gluten intolerant then I highly recommend it, the crust tastes so good... even better than a regular crust. Had a nice, hot, fresh, supreme pizza ordered thin and extra crispy. Came out perfect! I was going to have it delivered to my hotel but they are relegated to using DoorDash so I decided to come in and pick it up.... I'm glad I did! It was a lovely experience with great vibe, music and service. Plus I was able to have some wine and use their wifi to finish up some work. I even had nice a talk with the owner, Rafael. Great place and highly recommended for good pizza, coffee and dessert. Rafael also made me a hot Cinnabon with vanilla ice cream and a hot americano that hit the spot for dessert! Sorry to owner(s)!! Couple weeks ago me and my pregnant friend were recommended to try this place and we happened to call 30 mins before they closed. They were still kind enough to take our order for 2 pizzas. We pulled up to a small store front with a few dining tables. Small cozy safe space feel. Note: DONT MAKE THEM WAIT for you to pick up your phone order till after their closing time @9. Staff will NOT take it kindly. [[we are SOOOOOO sorry sir(s)!]] Anyway. Pizzas were already cold since we had a day full of driving with MANY stops due to a recently pregnant friend !! We finally made it back to IE and toasted a few slices in the air fryer to freshen up, and LET ME TELL YOUUU!! Instantly my taste buds exploded with happiness and gratitude towards the upset staff that night!! I went here for lunch on a recommendation. I was told they have an excellent hot meatball sandwich... and they sure do!!! Every part of this meatball sandwich was awesome. I was working in the area and happened to stop in with a coworker last night. Upon arrival they were very welcoming and gave us time to decide. The food arrived promptly and was very hot. They came and checked with us periodically to make sure we didn't need anything else. I brought the food back to my room with me which I know normally do and my flight was canceled this morning, so even cold it was delicious. I will visit next month when I'm in town again. read more

I would give 3.5 stars if I could. First, the people working at Rafael's are very easy to deal with and exude a general sense of hospitality and service. I ordered takeout and because of my own mistake (I went to the wrong Rafael's location) I arrived close to closing time. No problem, the workers were perfectly gracious. I ordered a house salad, which was a generous portion, enough for two, but could have used a little more dressing. The pizza, in my opinion was good, not great. It was similar to chain store pizza. Having said that, I'm from Chicago, and I have noticed that what passes for good pizza has a lot to do with preferring the local style you grew up with and everything else is just Ok. read more

This pizza used to be great with a really nice pizza crust. Crunchy but soft. Now? it is flat cardboard. It was like a cheep frozen crust. The cheese is like poor quality like Costco cheese. Ordered extra cheese and didn't get it. Paid over $34.00 and it was completely not worth it. I won't go back. Steer clear....swim away. read more

We were in the area and decided to give Rafael's Pizza a try after reading good reviews about it. We wanted to get a good taste for the menu so we ordered a pizza half bbq chicken and the other Hawaiian. We also ordered the chicken and waffles and the bolognese pasta. All these items came out in a short period and tasted great. Full of flavor and with a fresh taste that makes me believe they're a scratch kitchen. Most importantly, I must add our server Andrea was on point and attentive. Though she was the only server tending to all the tables, she engaged in conversation and made sure all our needs were fulfilled.
