This is an owner operated business. I thought she was polite and dutiful. The bread was soft and the sandwich was hefty. I think it would have been a great sandwich if they added the vinegar and oil with a bit of seasoning like salt/pepper. I got a monster sandwich that had 4 meats and to add that oil vinegar combo I'd have pretended it was a "special salad" We also had a meatball sandwich that I wish had had more (some) sauce on it, as I got a taste of the meatball and it was pretty tasty. I would try them in the future if I was out at my dr office, super hungry and unsure what I may want as it's a filling meal as the combo. Just forgot to check their hours. but it doesn't seem like this is the type of place that would be open after 5 or on the weekends as they service the office building park in the area read more

Small sandwich shop located within Sky Park Circle. Usually family owned sandwich shops like this exceed expectations, but sadly the food is mediocre as you can definitely find better elsewhere for the value. Each add-on does seem to be extra and the pricing is definitely 'off' as some others have mentioned in their reviews. What's on the signs vs what's on the menu vs what's charged are different and each is higher than the last, so just be warned and know that prices may have been adjusted since 'last published'. Inside does have a decent amount of seating as they likely cater to a decent lunch crowd to those working within the complex during the week. Been coming here for 10 years now since I work next door. It's a simple mom and pop shop with lots of the menu to choose from breakfast burritos to meatball sandwiches and soups. It's super fresh ingredients and the sandwich is fat. People say it's pricey but how is it pricey when willing to pay $8 for a coffee somewhere but not 2-4 dollars more for a sandwich? Chick filet it's $10 a chicken sandwich and that's fast food. Paul the owner is just so genuine and kind and his wife Angie are so welcoming. I love to support their small business. This will definitely be my new morning breakfast stop. All I have to say is breakfast burrito! First off, who ever invented the breakfast burrito, props to them. Here at the Sandwich King they make their burritos flavorful and fresh. The flavor of course comes from the bacon, ham, and cheese. The fresh is the part that is delish. They add fresh avacado and pico de gallo. It is so good! The first time I had it was with their potatoes which is home style with onion and bell peppers. The second time I got it was sans the potatoes. I just had eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, avocado, and fresh pico de gallo. It felt lighter without the taters. I am getting hungry just typing about it. Both times I was able to meet and talk to the owner, Paul. He is a very nice Korean man. He said he has been there for over 20 years. That should make him a sandwich king! Very shady business practices The interior was impressive for the location. Definitely gives you a new fast food restaurant vibe. Though I'm unfamiliar with them before today I know that they've been open for 3+ years. My sandwich was a three out of five because I could tell that the meat had been sitting out at least all day uncovered because it had a dry almost film like texture. But my reason for writing this review is simply because of the prices. I thought $10 was a little steep for some bread lettuce tomatoes and meat but I understand that kind of price if the sandwich is good.I noticed the sign right next to the checkout stand (look at attached picture) meaning that my $10 sandwich was a mystery price. I am OK with that but as the cashier rang my food they rang it as $15.23. I had not purchased anything extra and I actually asked to make sure I wasn't. Even if the sandwich was $12 with the price adjustment if you include tax they still overcharged me by entering the price manually. My girlfriends order was $12 and they charged $17.50 without any kind of extras. These sandwiches DEFINITELY aren't worth the price. For the cost of our sandwiches correlated with the quality of ingredients we could have made a whole loaf worth of sandwiches. I definitely won't be coming back and please be cautious of them overcharging you. read more

Went here for lunch with my coworker. Got a bowl of the homemade chicken noodle soup, my coworker got a cup of the same and a cold cut sandwich. The soup was so salty!! Hardly any chicken and overcooked noodles. I literally couldn't finish it, not even half. My coworker was shocked by the saltiness of the soup too and was unimpressed by her $13 sandwich. Instead of Sandwich King it should be Sandwich Tyrant. Literally ordered turkey/bacon/avo sandwich- no drink, no chips came out to $17.50. What??! C'mon man that's ridiculous. I paid it, and went back to work secretly hoping it would be either A) some massive sandwich, or B) the most delicious sandwich I've ever had. Nope. Just a regular old sandwich. The price on their menu is $10 and some change- then they have a sign that says prices have gone up anywhere from $0.50-$2.00. I love to pay for delicious food but these sandwiches are just okay. They are certainly overpriced, even for Irvine. This is a good place to chill out and have a relaxing lunch. I feel that the meats used here are high quality. My favorite here is the meatball sub. I've enjoyed drinking the coffee here and they have a good assortment of beverages. I tried a Mate tea drink in a can that was unique and provided a little kick on a long day. The place is clean and calm. People working here are nice. In some of the other reviews, reviewers complained about the price. I do find the sandwiches to be much more filling than Subway. Okay, tried a new sandwich here: the egg salad sandwich with everything on it all on squaw bread. First off, I haven't had an egg salad sandwich since jr. high. But it's something I never order, why get egg when you can have turkey + bacon + avocado!! Am I right? However I saw it on the menu and I wanted to try it. And I'm glad I did. Let's play myth busters and while I summarize the other reviews before I get to mine. 90 percent of reviews consist of these words: "Walked by", "fresh ingredients", "great prices", "friendly service", "sandwich". Walked by- I agree this location in convenient given the limited options at Sky Park Circle and near the airport. Fresh- that's questionable. Great price- most of those comments are 2014 and earlier, prices have slightly increased overtime. Friendly service- joke maybe? Sandwich somehow equals 5 stars. I read many generic reviews with the same comments but it was 5 stars when the person who wrote the review seemed pleased, not loving it or amazed. The short answer is the food was okay and prices were decent but there are plenty of high quality options in the same area and price range. The thing that slightly rubbed me the wrong way was the service. The Asian dude either had a stick up his butt or was trying to be a New Yorker. I know 3 of us walk at once and we got a yeah or a what do you want look. My friend ordered over the phone. I was still deciding and other friend was just waiting. First friend order #1 was confirmed the sandwich was placed on the counter. Even before collecting the payment for friend he takes my order #2 Okay... Multi tasking I guess. I don't know what the hurry was because he wasn't fast at managing the first friend. He proceeds to take my credit card. Still not done with friend 1 and takes the order of the 3rd customer without finishing my transaction. When the receipt comes out I thought it was mine but still on transaction #1. Then my card is done. He hands over my credit card and stands there while he trashes the receipt. Awkwardly I said "do I need to sign?" because I am just standing there looking at him because he didn't complete the transaction/ conversation with me. At this point I'm guessing asking for a receipt is out of the question. While taking order 3 he yells to my friend about the sandwich #1 being ready (already on counter). She comes back confused thinking he would bag it together since we came together. Nope no bag. Just a sandwich. I am waiting for my sandwich combo order. I grab from a cheap rack of chips selection. Out of habit I take sample sip of ice tea. Disgusting! I immediately switch to soda. The best service part was a sweet lady says my order number and places a sandwich next to my arm. I couldn't wait to get out. Yes the service was fast but so awkward. Not recommended. I will not be back. Solid fresh cold cuts ! A little too much bread on the French roll - If you want to taste your cold cuts go with sliced bread. All in all Sandwich king is consistent as today was the first time back since 2010-2011 or so. Darn you sporq for not having an updated menu of this place! Not too much has changed on it, but they don't have chicken noodle soup anymore and I of course really really wanted chicken noodle soup today. I went with the egg sandwich (minus the chicken noodle soup because they don't have it anymore) on squaw bread. I was surprised they had squaw. SkyPark Deli also has squaw. I'm thinking they all go through the same vendor. Just like Bread Basket, they stuffed the sandwich so fat it was like Thanksgiving turkey! My coworker got the chicken salad sandwich on squaw. She just had the chicken salad sandwich on squaw from Bread Basket yesterday, so she was able to make a fair comparison. The quality of the chicken was questionable. It was like the frozen kind. Not the real kind. Everything just fell out as she was eating it. Bread Basket definitely has the better chicken salad sandwich. I think they use too much mayo in their sandwiches. The cucumbers in my egg salad weren't good at all. It just tasted off. They weren't big either. I'm not sure I'd want to come back when I have Bread Basket. After days of seeing the vibrant open sign as I drove toward Skypark Circle from Redhill, I finally decided it was time to trek across the parking lot to investigate this subtle spot. My coworker and I strolled around the corner of the building, whereupon we were immediately aware of the savory scent emanating from the open door of Sandwhich King. Our stomachs growled with fervor at the enticing smells wafting endlessly around us. Stepping inside we were wide eyed at the simplicity, cleanliness, and peacefulness of the establishment. To our right, behind the counter, a welcoming personality erupted from the gentleman running the establishment, beckoning us closer. The wall-to-wall wide menu was crisp, legible, and easy on the eyes ; it laid out the multitude of options available to us from the skilled kitchen staff. We quickly found ourselves ordering several sandwhichs, sodas, and some of the soft chocolate chip cookies being offered. Our meals were prepared at a respectable rate and we hurriedly returned to our own office to eat. Unwrapping my BBQ Beef sandwhich (with onion, pickle, and provolone) I came face to face with a perfectly portioned piece and reunited with a aroma not unlike those residing in the restaurant itself. The next moments are a blur as I was taken on a journey of taste few expect to experience from such shops - I was not disappointed at all with my choice. The flavor unfolded on my tongue and the soft, yet crisp, bread cracked lightly with each gentle bite. Before I knew it the delectable sandwhich was gone, my only regret being I didn't get a large (but the small was already big and honestly the perfect size to not be overstuffed).
