When I worked in San Pedro, we used to frequent this place for lunch and had the majority of our company Christmas lunches there. That was at the old location on 4th and Pacific. This is my first time eating here in many years and the first time at the new location. The new restaurant is beautiful, really well done. The bar area is much larger and very welcoming. I took a peek at the back banquet room too. Also very nice. So, the food... it's just what I remembered. Everything our party ordered was delicious. The portion sizes are generous. Enough that you'll be taking food home. The meal includes a salad and bread with marinaded red bell peppers and bruschetta.. the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly, but that is exactly how I remember it. My group and I went here on a Sunday night around 7 pm. There was no wait. The main dining area has a little wall with a cute heart and lights. We ended up sitting in the bar section area to watch the World Cup game. Service was initially slow to get our orders, but once we placed our orders, food came out relatively quick. And our waters were filled very frequently. The staff were friendly and nice. While we waited for our main entrees to come, we were given a basket of bread and butter, bruschetta, and some kind of bell pepper appetizer. We had the following food items (in more simplified terms): chicken pesto, lasagna, and carbonara. Each entree also came with a simple salad. We thought the carbonara was a bit too creamy, which made it have a heavier taste than we expected. Lasagna was okay, I personally didn't eat too much of it. The chicken pesto was good and was probably my preferred dish out of the 3 that I tried. We also ate tiramisu. I personally do not like tiramisu (since I don't like coffee flavored things), but the cake itself was moist and the cream did not taste too sweet. This place is one of the best Italian food places in San Pedro and the local area! The food is always top-notch and I'm not joking. You'll get four days worth of food when you sit down. The food is so filled with goodness the pictures that I've included. Don't even compare. You just have to go there. They have such a perfect spot in San Pedro, where they have a couple dozen white tables, a huge banquet room, and then across the street they have a massive place where you can have a huge party! This is a great family spot in the PV area. I just moved here and am exploring new restaurants. The vibe is so much less stressful than LA proper. Parking was easy and seating was ready, while still having a full restaurant. They provide complimentary salad, bruschetta and bread and roasted red peppers. The carbonara and the lasagna were delicious. The staff were very friendly and their diet coke was perfect. The seafood was not our favorite, but didn't ruin our evening. For food, I got a modified dish (gnoochi with Alfredo) and a salad with ranch. My teammates got all different types of food and they all loved it. They got the house dressing in their salad and we all agreed that this salad was abnormally delicious. The free bruschetta they give and marinated veggies was such a nice treat in the beginning. Raffaello was up to the task, and judging by several other large tables of multigenerational parties, we're not the only ones who found out about this family-friendly, open-all-weekend, picky-eaters-welcome house of Italian hospitality. The Grilled Octopus starter is quite tender, and my father enjoyed the swordfish special. The pastas come in huge platters, meatballs are very tender with the spaghetti, and though I felt the Manicotti alla Bolognese had a bit too much cheese filling. A nice surprise was the complimentary pizza slices and sautéed peppers served as appetizers -- a thoughtful touch that immediately set a welcoming tone. I ordered the Pollo alla Piccata ($22.95) and it was excellent. The chicken was tender, the lemon-butter sauce had great balance, and the capers added just the right brightness. Definitely a dish I'd order again. Other entrée prices ranged from about $22.95 to $27.95, including dishes like Pollo Marsala ($22.95) and Vitello Piccata ($27.95). Sodas were $4.25 each (3 for $12.75), espresso was $3.95, and the Soup of the Day was $6.95. For our table, the subtotal came to $216.20 before tax, which felt fair for the quality and portion sizes. After deliberation, we decided on the chicken parm and spaghetti with pink sauce along with the Linguini alla Pescatora (seafood linguine) - nice light sauce with lots of seafood! Pink sauce was savory and creamy. Portions are so big and the price point - can't beat it. What made our service great was our waiter Giorgio, gave us his recs for food and wine. He even brought out hot pepper flakes (yum) for us and a bowl of parm- this place means business! I just visited here for the third time and it's time for a review. The food here is delicious and definitely worth a visit. On this visit I had a very simple Rigatoni with chicken in a light pesto sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly. None of that overdone mushy pasta that some places serve up.
