I would like to be as honest as possible about this review. I came here after researching/visiting several places before hand and based off of what I originally thought I wanted, left them due to cost and lack of knowledge. Tim, I believe the owner, heard what I was asking for and basically gave me input that would do exactly that.....enhance what I was asking for. Although he kept repeating "this is whats popular" for what people get, which is basically kickers in a Dodge Charger, Challenger, Chrysler, I felt the display of what else was available, wasn't as available as it seemed. They had a "Diamond brand" but for the most part, everything is Kicker. I can't knock what he was doing as he did make what I was asking for, happen and at a decent cost that persuaded me to follow through with it, but overall, the lesson of "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR", soon became very apparent. It didn't take long to realize that there was something wrong with the sound. I went back the next day and without question, he did everything to accommodate. Super professional and helpful to fix the situation, with the option of listening for another day or so and if I didn't like, bring it back and would do all to make it sound better. He is a good guy and will make things sound better but without going into a lot of detail, I will say this...... I needed to return stuff and its not clear if you can but you can't. Only store credit or exchange. Options of what you can get is not like it seemed advertised on the great displays all around the store. As quoted, Ask about the fine details before you make a decision. Its a great place if you want general enhancements but honestly, you will get what you pay for and I would say to really understand what you are wanting with your system. You truly get what you pay for and that is exactly what I got, therefore, I can't ultimately complain. Unfortunately, I went back to one of the original place I started with to have everything done properly and the difference is unbelievable!!!!! Not even close to comparison. I don't wish to knock this place as it showed me what I actually needed to do in a sense, but at the same time, the quality is just on a different level from where I decided to finish the job. If you need decent sounds on a budget, this is the place. Can it be better than what I originally wanted??? Sure, but by then, I decided to ultimately take the next step to where I felt was on a higher level and I hear the difference. Hope this helps as a review like this probably would have helped my decision and not have to take on a 300 dollar loss of a learning lesson. I got what I paid for. I came in here a couple of months ago because I the aux part of my radio stopped working. I ordered the part online thinking I could fix it myself but unfortunately found I cannot. I was greeted by a man who asked what I needed help with and when I told him what I needed and showed him the part, he immediately and quickly told me it was something he could not fix. Was a bit confused because don't they specialize in radios? I'm assuming it is because the process would not cost as much since I already had the part and I find it disappointing they would not help me if that is the reason. I called around and visited few places and although I can't recall the owners name but he actually took the time to give me detail information and answer any of my questions. He was also honest instead of spending high dollars on a viper system which everyone told me to get I could actually get avital which is similar to sister company (this was a few years ago). I've been very pleased with my purchase and works like a charm. There have been a few times where the remote start stops working he's always fixed it for me at no cost since it's a known issue with my car. Had full system installed and work performed was poor at best. Return visit owner corrected and properly grounded multiple connections with proper fasteners instead of stripped self tappers on top of sound deadening material. System has had constant wiring ghosts due to lousy crimps and just poor quality. Will never go back and hope others have a better experience. Attitude of owner was equally poor, so overall it was not a good feeling after shelling out my hard earned money. read more

I went in today to buy a head unit they had what I wanted in stock plus more. Store is very clean but what made the experience top notch was the customer service. The guy who helped me was extremely helpful! I wanted to install it myself and he broke everything down for me even gave advice on what would look better and because of that my install went perfect I would not recommend any other place in the Virginia beach area except for this shop! I received a gift card from this place that has NO EXPIRATION DATE and when I come back to use it (5) years later. The owner doesn't allow me, stating that because the receipt is faded he can not cross reference the card. I already had a sound system, so I held on to the card until I got a new car, and planned to get the work done here. BUT that was $150+ dollars lost. I felt stereotyped, because he assumed I was lying, or using a card that never had an initial balance. I feel if I had been a young white woman instead of the black woman that I am, things would have went different. NEVER will I suggest anyone to this place. Just another RACIST judgmental business owner, but karma is even sweeter. And he claimed he has never seen gift cards with EXPIRATION dates. That was an insult to my intelligence, because I know for a fact that is a bold face lie. I hope this place goes into the red, and OUT OF BUSINESS.!!!! Rage N Car Audio is fantastic. I needed a new subwoofer for a 2004 Toyota 4Runner. I saw on you tube that the rear of my car had to be practically dismantled in order to remove and replace this part, I groaned when I saw the amount of money, time and work involved. Tim really knows his stuff and is highly skilled. He took less than 20 minute to remove the part and finished the job in less than 1 hour. He probably could have finished sooner if he wasn't so polite in answering all my questions and addressing all my concerns. The price he quoted over the phone is exactly what I paid. I don't even want to give this business ONE star! Tim, the owner is the rudest individual I have ever encountered and apparently doesn't need business. Back in the summer he provided my son with a quote for a radio, and speakers and didn't provide it in writing, my son was 17 and didn't know to ask for it in writing. So when he went back a couple of days ago, Tim got amnesia and conveniently didn't remember anything. Said there was no way he quoted my son $210 for everything including installation. Now mind you, he went there because my daughter has a somewhat decent experience there. My son, irritated, because now he is quoting 239.00, left. He called me and I told him to ask for the quote in writing. Time REFUSED to put a quote in writing, stating that he didn't owe my son anything! This is the conversation I had with him on the phone! He was rude and very non customer friendly! He told me I was wasting his time and keeping him from assisting customers in his showroom. What he didn't know, is that I was sitting outside of his business while on the phone with him and there was NO ONE in his shop! I told him it was quite obvious that he didn't want/need my business and I would just take it elsewhere since I was wasting his time and his response was fine! I would not have purchase ANYTHING HIM, even so much as a $2.00 knob for a radio! My daughter had also spoken with him and advised him about a kicker she had bought from him and he disputed her that she didn't purchase it there when she absolutely did. So not only is he rude, and not in need of business, he doesn't know the products he sells! A real winner!! Very disappointing and disheartening. And the fact that he would speak to my minor son as he did, my daughter as well as myself, made me think that he must be related to Donal Trump, or at least took lessons from him on how to be rude and obnoxious to women. So if this is how you like to be treated in a place of business by all means Patronize this place, if not, I would highly recommend finding somewhere else. The headache is not worth it. Not to mention my son was able to purchase an amazing radio and speakers, nicer than the one he was going to get there for $110 less that he was going to pay Tim! This was an entire waste of time! He deserves a negative 4 stars if I could apply that!!!! read more
