If you're truly from Atlanta -- especially the Westside -- Rahim's Seafood needs no introduction. This place has been feeding the city since 1972, starting on MLK for 30 years and now holding it down on Campbellton Road for the last 18 years. That kind of longevity doesn't happen by accident. Rahim's was the first Black-owned seafood restaurant in Atlanta to serve fresh fish, and you can tell the legacy is still alive and well. The founder may be gone, but his daughter now runs the restaurant, and the quality, flavor, and heart are still there. Let's talk food. The Rahim wings with the special sauce are a MUST -- battered, crispy, and full of flavor. These are real old-school wings, not trendy, just done right. The whiting sandwich is huge and perfectly fried. The fried okra is crispy with zero slime. And the fried fish and shrimp platter? Fresh, hot, seasoned well, and the portion is generous. The real star for me was the homemade tartar sauce -- creamy, tangy, and perfect on both the shrimp and fish. You can tell it's made in-house and not poured out of a bottle. Rahim's isn't flashy or trying to be something it's not. It's consistent, historic, and rooted in the community. This is the kind of place generations grew up on -- and that matters. If you're visiting Atlanta and want real food with real history, or if you're local and somehow haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. Rahim's Seafood is a Westside staple and a true piece of Atlanta history.

Great spot. It's a typical hole in the wall--not much to look at from the outside but bursting with flavor and amazing food. It wasn't very crowded. I dropped in for a late lunch. The owners/attendants are very kind and make sure you understand the menu and get exactly what you ordered. They have a pretty extensive menu of various combinations of fish, shrimp, and the like. Parking is limited. They also have an assort of desserts that I didn't get a chance to try but that fish is amazing. The wait is about 15 minutes. There is a decent amount of indoor seating. The fish comes come with this delectable coleslaw, fries, and delicious shrimp. They do good fried seafood right. The hushpuppies are interesting. They are like a sweet, fried cookie. They are not like any hushpuppies I've ever had. Take that for whatever you think it means. But I love the fish and the shrimp and that terrific coleslaw. They have wings to but I don't see the point with all of that amazing seafood. The owner is very sweet and makes sure you get exactly what you ordered and what you need. Great spot! Get the floudner and the whiting!

This spot is next to a gas station and it's really small, expect to smell like fried fish when you leave. I got the fish and shrimp combo and the hubs got the supreme (fish sandwich). We waited 48mins. I was EXTREMELY disappointed, after the first 15 mins I went to the car. I called him and he said "still waiting" he finally came out and by that time I was STARVING (first meal of the time on a road trip) I opened the box to 2 nice size pieces of whiting and 1 tiny one. It was OK, but it NEEDED sauce. Tarter, hot sauce heck anything. There was NONE in the bag nor were there napkins. There were about 6 nice sized shrimp but they were bland like the whiting. The frozen to oil cooked fries were seasoned tho. The hush puppies (you get 2) wasn't edible. It was SWEET and oily. I know there's an oily belch to come. The hubs asked for his sandwich to be made without ketchup or tomato and YOU GUESSED IT both were on there. Will I return? ONLY if he decides to come back but I'll make sure to ASK for sauce for the fish and definitely ask them to hold the hush puppies (which is sad bc I'm a hush puppy LOVER). To top it all off, he also got a medium size Arnold Palmer, they gave him a small cup which they charged over $4 for. If they're going to charge $2 for lemonade and $2 for iced tea why not put it in a larger cup? Of course there's ice in this cup.

It's on the side of other buildings like they all share on structure and divided it up, but the interior is much bigger than expected. It kind of felt like a long hallway, but that may be due to how it was pretty empty upon arrival though it got pretty busy once night fell. From what I understand, the menu changes every few months or so. What you see in reviews may not be on the menu when you visit, but don't let that deter you! The food will still be good. They have a good grasp on flavors all around the world, and it's a fancier take on what would otherwise be considered comfort food. At least, that's how I felt ordering the oxtail lasanga. Like, WOW. Beautifully delicious. The tomatoes on the side packed such a punch. Tiny flavor bombs for sure. I really jumped straight to the best thing of the night in my review, but it honestly was everything I wanted once I saw it on the menu. Going back to the beginning though... the apps? Tasty. The salmon empanadas were a little dry, but seasoned well. I believe the (collard green) hushpuppies are a mainstay item, and it's truly for a good reason. Such a classic bite, and it's easily shareable too. For the jerk duck wings, I preferred the mango salad underneath it. The flavor overall wasn't bad, but duck has such a distinct taste that it overpowered the jerk seasoning. The wings weren't spicy either, though the mango had a little bit of a kick. I was a little too focused on my lasagna, but I did try a little of the grilled Moroccan lamb loin (tender) and the suya shrimp jollof pasta (bland, sauce too thin to coat the pasta, but shrimps were so yummy). And we did end with some dessert, which does not disappoint, though it was hard for me to choose.

I started asking questions about this and that and he answered every question with a smile on his face, letting me know his favorites, best sellers, etc. I chose the Cajun pasta with chicken and added shrimp, slice of garlic bread and a big ole piece of chocolate cake, washed down with a Cherry Coke and let me tell you...it was the best meal I've had in Atlanta! This was my first time stopping in here, but I've been to the ATL a bunch through the years, from high end to hole in the wall places, North to South of the city, but I'll be stopping in here again on my next time through. Located about 10 minutes from the airport it was perfect to grab dinner to go on my way to my hotel. The gentleman and I talked travel, food, football as I waited and I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation but what I didn't know was his wife was kicking up some of the best Cajun pasta I've ever eaten! Sorry man, she is the star of the show! I had perfectly cooked shrimp, mixed it with a hearty portion of chicken but the Cajun sauce was perfection. I soaked up perfectly with the garlic bread for an incredible feast! Thank you for welcoming me in and making my last meal in ATL memorable. Until next time!

I sat on the patio, danced, and enjoyed the beautiful Atlanta weather. The playlist was upbeat, vibrant, and kept the vibe going. The only miss for me was the spinach dip -- way too oily, I couldn't get past it. But I'm definitely giving Party of 5 another chance. Jamari raved about the Caesar salad, and I want to try the salmon bites and lamb chops next time. Again,it's small venue: you really shouldn't come here with a slew of people if you can help it. They have some outdoor seating as well, but not a lot, so you don't want to count on that, but it's kind of intimate. The bar fits maybe six to eight seats at most, and the general seating probably no more than 20 people. It's in a shopping center area, so it's free parking when you go, and there's a number of other things there. You could easily start with this spot and then go to a show and then end up in a cigar lounge, so at least that's a little bit of flexibility. I had the House malbac which was pretty good. I'm looking around, though, and I noticed that the food looks amazing. It made me feel bad for not eating, LOL. Everybody says that it is good, but I just can't speak on it. It looks amazing, so I wanted to make sure I say that. I sat at the bar, and the bartenders kind of were in and out. There were maybe four people at the bar aside from myself. The bartenders kept disappearing, so I wasn't sure about the whole service component with this place. Once you get their attention, you're good, but it just seemed like there were a lot of disappearing acts. I gotta give them grace because it looked like the bartender was dropping off food as well, so I can't wholly take off for that because it looks like they had him doing double duty. If you're into seafood and you want some crab cakes or some salmon, you should probably at least take a look at the menu. It's a good stop-off point, so I would definitely suggest giving it a shot if you're in the area.
