Fried Shrimp Basket & hush puppies. Yummy
    Monica G.

If I could give this place a 10 star, I definitely would. Found this place while searching Yelp for seafood options in the area. We ordered the fried shrimp basket, fried oysters, fried grouper, hush puppies and a cup of gumbo; all were delicious. The fried items were made fresh to order. The establishment is take out only, so we just ate in our car. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and learned they've been open for only a few months. With food this good, I hope more people come out and support them. The service was amazing. The cashier was very nice and the place looks super clean. Best of luck in this endeavor & we will definitely come back.

Champ Seafood and Grill is truly a gem here in Southwest Atlanta. The first thing you notice is how beautiful, clean, and professional the establishment looks. It's clear the owners and staff take great pride in creating an inviting atmosphere. The customer service is just as impressive. Everyone is so friendly, warm, and attentive, which makes dining here a real pleasure. The food is outstanding as well--my personal favorite is the creamy Cajun pasta with salmon, which is full of flavor and cooked to perfection. It's refreshing to have such a high-quality, clean, and welcoming restaurant right in our community. I encourage all the locals to come check it out for themselves and give this wonderful establishment a chance. You'll be glad you did!

Partially eaten lobster tray sorry folks I couldn't wait!

The customer service was phenomenal. The owner came out and introduced himself and was going over the menu with a customer. The food was perfect. I got the lobster tail tray with 10 shrimp and hush puppies. I recommend they maybe offer fried lobster tails which would only elevate an already perfect dish. Nothing like good food and good service, I will be back and thanks Champ it was my pleasure.

    Catfish and Fries

So I was really craving some fried shrimp lately and my other half wanted Catfish - specifically fried in a cornmeal style breading to give it that extra crispy edge. Had been reading about Champs and did a "pull up" I have to say ... it's impressive, feels nice new and clean inside and the young lady that helped us was really sweet...took our order and was realistic on how long it would take - made to order btw..Food came out hot and fresh - my shrimp were everything I had been craving...hot, nice size and crunchy came with fries and I also ordered a side of slaw and hush puppies for the full experience. The slaw was good, the hush puppies were ok - they were the only thing served that wasn't hot - so maybe I won't get those again- I'm told the Catfish was good - but he would have liked the breading to be a bit more on the crispy side. I do recommend this place and would go back - just know it's a carry out only kind of place - nowhere to sit. So because I wanted my food HOT I ate in the car ....LOL - country ?? Yeah I know but I'd rather eat my food hot and fresh than let it sweat in a box . Also picked up a piece of carrot cake - it was tasty also.

Oh my goodness!!!! This was so good. I'd had been waiting patiently for this establishment/restaurant to open with hopes of great seafood... I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. BLACK OWNED AND OPEREATED Met the owners Lou and Erica. Pleasant, courteous and attentive. Plenty of parking. Seafood Chowder, Oyster Po Boys, Catfish Basket and did I mention the CRAB CAKE!!!! Yep....it was DELICIOUS Great portion size, seasoned to perfection. Simply awesome food, cooked to order and great service. Stop by and see what's on the menu. You'll be glad you did. Yes....I will be back!!!!

No indoor seating, to go orders only. We were waited on at the counter by a beautiful woman. She advised us the best way to get the most food for our money. Predictable wait of 20 minutes was accurate. A Sprite is $2.50

Proof of their cashier providing me with her number

Today I decided to try a new restaurant that just opened. The place was completely empty, yet I waited over 40 minutes for my food. I couldn't understand why the wait was so long. While waiting, I ordered the gumbo and asked if it could come out quickly. When I received it, the rice was undercooked and had a strange taste. I politely informed the owner that I was dissatisfied and asked if she could replace it with gumbo only--no rice. She told me she couldn't do that. I then asked for a refund for that dish since it was inedible, but she dismissed the request and walked away. Later, she came out and said there was an issue with their steamer, which explained the problem with the food. However, she was the one who recommended that dish to me in the first place, so I was confused as to why she didn't mention the equipment issue earlier. I started to feel like the recommendation was more about pushing a high-priced item than customer satisfaction. In total, I spent over $50 and 40 minutes for a very disappointing experience. I then asked the woman at the counter if the other owner could provide a refund. When he came out, he was rude and aggressive. As a business owner myself, I would never treat a customer like that--especially one giving honest and constructive feedback. The wife stated that they don't give refunds, even when the issue is on their end. That policy, especially when paired with their behavior, is absolutely unacceptable. What shocked me most was that the male owner questioned whether I even had money or ran a business--simply because I made a private, respectful complaint. Later, I checked online and saw that other customers had reported similar issues, which confirmed my concerns. To add to the strange experience, the girl at the front--who was very sweet--gave me her number after I placed my order and asked me to call her. It seemed like she was eager to leave the job, and now I understand why. We as Black business owners need to normalize accepting constructive criticism instead of attacking customers for sharing their experiences. I asked for a refund--and instead, I was insulted. Also my seafood boils was full of oil and uncooked. I believe there's some issues going on with their steamer. The owner stated they had it turnt off. I was very excited to give this place a try since I'm a seafood lover. I'm soo disappointed. However, I wish them the best in business. Time is hard. You have to appreciate every customer that comes to your establishment to patronize. You never know what blessings is walking in. She also made a religious remark! I'm God connect to God. My heart is very close to him. I praying for the people who believe they are God on earth.

So, this is a new seafood spot on Campbell on Road in Atlanta in the Ben Hill area for those who know. The service was good, everyone was courteous and attentive. As the store name suggest, this spot serves to go food only which works especially on fish Friday..I didn't have to wait long for my hot fish and chips and shrimp.. Delicious!!

To start, my sister and I had the hella good and social cocktails and both were perfectly balanced. We had the mussels which were fantastic and the crabcake was phenomenal! It was seriously the best crab cake I've had in years - and we're from Maryland. The lamb was seasoned well and cooked to a perfect medium rare and the grits were to die for. The lobster fried rice was also super yummy! We also tried the espresso martini and the strawberry pearltini and those were both on point! Honestly, this was the first new restaurant I've tried in awhile where I was impressed by every dish and drink. Bonus is the prices were very reasonable for the quality! We will be back

Again,it's small venue: you really shouldn't come here with a slew of people if you can help it. They have some outdoor seating as well, but not a lot, so you don't want to count on that, but it's kind of intimate. The bar fits maybe six to eight seats at most, and the general seating probably no more than 20 people. It's in a shopping center area, so it's free parking when you go, and there's a number of other things there. You could easily start with this spot and then go to a show and then end up in a cigar lounge, so at least that's a little bit of flexibility. I had the House malbac which was pretty good. I'm looking around, though, and I noticed that the food looks amazing. It made me feel bad for not eating, LOL. Everybody says that it is good, but I just can't speak on it. It looks amazing, so I wanted to make sure I say that. I sat at the bar, and the bartenders kind of were in and out. There were maybe four people at the bar aside from myself. The bartenders kept disappearing, so I wasn't sure about the whole service component with this place. Once you get their attention, you're good, but it just seemed like there were a lot of disappearing acts. I gotta give them grace because it looked like the bartender was dropping off food as well, so I can't wholly take off for that because it looks like they had him doing double duty. If you're into seafood and you want some crab cakes or some salmon, you should probably at least take a look at the menu. It's a good stop-off point, so I would definitely suggest giving it a shot if you're in the area.

I wanted fried fish but not French fries and I saw that there were grilled veggies on the menu. No substitutions. I saw conch on the menu and wanted to sub it for the shrimp on one of the combos. No substitutions. That's the reason I didn't give them 5 stars. The young lady they have working the register was pleasant and even when she told me no, it wasn't a Nasty No. There are tables to sit down and eat so the atmosphere is not bad and honestly what you should expect from a spot like this. The prices are very reasonable and you get a good bit of food so the value is on point. I had the catfish nuggets and they were cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of seasoning. They were crunch on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside. The tarter tasted homemade. The fries were nothing special and I had a plate full of them remaining. The coleslaw was decent and added a reprieve to the fried fish. The grilled veggies were probably from a bag but they were seasoned decently and did the job. Bae had the gizzards and they were pretty good as well. (Of course I had to taste em lol) I was disappointed that I couldn't get conch or conch fritters or conch salad but it was late and I know spot run out of popular items sometimes. Nevertheless, I will be back.

The dining room can get loud if all the tables. Full bar / wine serving Cajun style with a "Atlantean" flair. Service: 5 stars Rarely do I give a 5 star rating for a server but our server was exceptional. He was polite, friendly, helpful and was very attentive. He mentioned some recommendations and as a foodie himself, he made a couple recommendations. Food: 4-4.4 stars Shrimp Po-Boy: 4 Stars for the Po-Boy due to amount of shrimp, though they were larger than normal. The shrimp was seasoned and lightly breaded. However, the bread was wonderful. Light, airy, flaky and had the right amount of crunch to it. The creole sauce was good but the Po-Boy needed some additional hot sauce. The perfectly cooked fries were AWESOME! Highly recommend to get a side if your entree doesn't come with it. Lightly salted with hint of other seasoning and herbs and had the right amount of chew and crunch to them. Also, I believe the oil they use was a better quality than normal. Blacken Mahi-Mahi- 5 Stars The grilled blackened fish has the perfect on of Creole seasoning and was topped with a house-made Chimichurri Sauce and possibly honey. Served with seasonally roasted root vegetables. My wife loved it so much the plate was practically cleaned! LOL! Dessert Beignet - 3.75 Stars By our server's recommendation we ordered a serving of 3 beignets w Pecan Praline Caramel sauce. The beignets were hot and fresh and had a "snowy" amount of powdered sugar. It was covered with goodness. When we bit into them, they were light, airy and had a bit of a chew to them. My wife likes them more than Cafe Du Monde but I thought the dough had more chewiness to them. The Praline sauce was ok. Also, the sauce is extra $3.50. NOTE: Do not order a carton of water - Cost $5. Wasn't worth it. Get regular water. If we were staying another day, we would definitely come back. I highly recommend the place. Also, the have another located situated in downtown Atlanta. But I suggest to stop by at the OG place in College Park. Small time atmosphere with great food! Enjoy!
