This was my first time eating at this restaurant and I can say that this restaurant is super cool ! I loved the decor, the seating, and being able to see into the kitchen while eating. The vibe is pretty laid back, where you can spend some time hanging out with your family while you dine. There are both inside and outside options for seating. Outdoors has fire pits and heaters for the chillies evenings. The food was really tasty. The fried pickles appetizer was nice and crunchy. I also enjoyed the Wedge salad. I really liked the fact that the restaurant prides themselves on locally sourcing their ingredients and meat. The staff was also very friendly and helpful with the menu items. It was just okay. The place was pretty nice, and we sat outside in the extended parking lot area of the patio. I loved the hanging lights and creative use of space (and glad I didn't have to wait to sit outside on such a nice day.) Server was new, because she told us so, but I wouldn't have known otherwise. We got the hummus app - which I feel like you can't really mess up, but good none the less! Then we split the Steak dinner with sweet potato fries and Brussels. Very nice of them to spilt for us (and at no extra cost) - but the food was nothing to write home about. Honestly I feel like it's probably my own fault for not ordering a burger or a shake - which is clearly their specialty - but also why is the simple stuff not done to impress ? We were very disappointed. I liked that you can check in online but when it tells you a 45 min wait and it end up being closer to 75 with empty dirty tables there's a process problem. My husband got the steak-medium but it was definitely rare and barely room temperature. My order was incorrect and when we asked for silverware the waiter informed us they were out but he'd look for some. Good thing since nobody wants to eat a steak with their fingers. We had been to the rail once before but just got drinks. This time we had friends (with kids) with us and we got drinks and food. First we got a few starters. The pork nachos were really really good. We ordered some of the camp fire fries. Those were great. Love their skinny fries! They were spicy if you're a wimp like me so beware lol. Worth it, tho. We also ordered the buffalo garlic boneless wings. I will say, the buffalo and garlic combo if the sauces was AMAZING. The wings were pretty small. I liked everything here. The pork belly appetizer was really good. Came with a fried wonton crust and the cabbage relish was delicious. I got the mojo burger and my son ordered the 7th heaven burger. Both were delicious. The mojo burger does indeed have a kick and the andouille sausage mixed in provides a lovely complement. The only option (because of the pork) is medium well or well and i got mine medium well, which came out nice and juicy and not at all dry. I sampled the 7th heaven burger as well -- the jam on top really gives it a nice flavor. A great selections of beers on draft. Both of us were quite happy with our choices. read more

I picked The Rail for my birthday lunch since every time we've been there, the burgers have been the best we've ever had. We were seated right away and our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered the pretzel bites for an appetizer and they came out timely. But that's where the good experience ended. The pretzels were very dry and over cooked. We do not like to complain at restaurants, so we just ate them with lots of dipping sauce. My hubby ordered the Bootlegger burger because he loves the tobacco onions they put on it, but he gets the BBQ sauce on the side. I ordered the Bonfire burger with a wedge salad. The food was just not good. We ordered the burgers to be cooked medium; they were both well done and tasteless. My husband's sandwich was missing the onions, so he mentioned it to the young lady that brought our food out. She then turns to our waiter who was right behind her and makes a face at him as she tells him snidely, "Um, he says his onions are missing? I don't know." We definitely didn't appreciate the attitude over a simple request. The waiter took the burger to the cook, who then apparently scraped the onions that had been stuck to the bottom of the skillet and put those on the burger because they were burnt and inedible. He left half his sandwich on the plate, which he never does. My sandwich was dry and tasteless as well, but I choked down what I could. We still tipped our waiter 20% because we had no issue with him; this is a cook issue. After this experience we have decided to avoid all sit down restaurants for awhile, because if The Rail starts slipping, then there's no hope for anyone else!! read more

Local For The Win! This was my first time at The Rail, and it did not disappoint at all. Burgers were cooked to perfection, wait staff were attentive, and they have a very nice beer selection. I went with the Crouching Burger {Hidden Bacon}, not only because it sounded good, but the name also made me chuckle when I read it on the menu for the first time. Soooo... I have drove past this place a million times and always wanted to stop. We stopped today. It was soooooo good. We got the fried pickles for an appetizer and it came out pretty quickly. They were pretty good but the sauce was better. We all got burgers and everyone loved them. Like... EVERYONE! I took my sons to lunch here on Saturday. The atmosphere is nice, waitresses were friendly. I had the burger of the month which is the "Heat Seeker". This burger supposedly has Carolina Reaper cheese. I had the pickles put on the side and me and my son both took a bite....Not spicy at all, not a bad burger, but I have had hotter pepper-jack cheese. Then we had one of the pickles, turns out thats where the heat is, they are pickled with jalapeños. Evidently they want to boost the non-existent heat of the cheese, or trick you into thinking you've just beaten the legendary Carolina Reaper, you have not lol. The party was cooked medium and tasted delicious with the accompanying flavors. The combination of bacon, truffle butter, and red onion jam was phenomenal and paired very well. The truffled steak fries were crispy yet soft which is great. The fries were seasoned well with truffle butter and tossed in shaved Parmesan. I used to absolutely love The Rail, it is amazing food, you cannot go wrong with a good cheeseburger, although it is definitely not what it used to be. The quality is not there anymore and the burgers are just average now. A good burger joint, but not worth the price anymore. My burger was raw last night, I had to stop eating it, but didn't say anything, because it took 45 minutes to an hour to even get our food. It is a cute place to checkout every so often. I've been hearing a lot about this, and had some time so I swung by. It's in a brand new building along Frantz; I was wondering if it was in the mall or some other building. Nice, bright, airy building with an upside-down cow on the sign... Nice bar area, and several dining areas including a patio. Picnic-table style seating. Classic rock playing in the background, not too loud. It'd be a fun place to hang out with friends. (I went solo, on a weekday afternoon, and it was pleasant, and not super busy.) Service was great the whole way through. Lots of burgers on the menu and a few other sandwiches. Lots of good sides. An interesting and innovative menu, with lots of local ingredients and interesting combos. I had the Mojo burger, which is beef with andouille. A tiny amount of heat in there, good coarse texture to the meat, perfectly cooked. Good size, though not huge. The bun was fine, but nothing special- seemed like one you could get at the grocery (a good grocery one, sure, but not anything amazing from a bakery.) Toppings were fresh veggies, cheese, and jalapeno slaw. Great blend of flavors. I subbed onion rings for their fries, and the rings were "good not great." Sided with a nice red pepper dipping sauce. Portions are decent, but not huge, so I got a piece of bourbon pecan pie. Excellent pie, with mounds of whipped cream on the side. Reasonable price for the size and quality. Open for just a few weeks, The Rail is a fresh new burger joint alternative in Dublin. Our crew rolled in for lunch ready to chow some serious sammys, and we did not leave disappointed. Being a new restaurant, it was definitely clean, the staff was exceedingly friendly, at the overall construction/layout of the place created a hip, cool atmosphere for a burger joint. First off, the smoked Gouda Mac 'N Cheese bites make for a pretty darn good appetizer. Served piping hot, they are excellently matched with the buffalo ranch dip. I bypassed the plethora of burger options (several of which were hard to say no to), and instead ordered from the "Lunch Features" menu, selecting the Ohio Corned Beef Reuben (Swiss, pickled cabbage, 1000 Island on sourdough) served with their "skinny fries". Now, this wasn't on par with a Zingerman's Deli level reuben (Ann Arbor), but it was a pretty darn good sandwich in its own right. Also, everyone else at my table seemed to love their burgers. However, on a second visit, I'd probably try the bleu cheese crumble covered house made potato chips instead of the skinny fries, but overall I'd dare say you'd also most likely give this place a second try (and a third, fourth, etc.). But that can't happen until you give it a first try, so what are you waiting for??? read more

Trying The Rail during the shutdown means curbside pickup. I should note, the 4 star review will be updated once we can actually go inside and sit to eat. The burgers are tasty, despite taking it home to eat the bacon stayed crispy and the burger juicy. I had requested the veg on the side (so it didn't wilt in transit) but it was understandable that it didn't happen. The fries were a little under seasoned, also understandable considering we did get them To Go. The chicken sandwich was moist and tender with a crispy crust. (The veg for it was placed on the side.) The wings were a decent size and tasty albeit REALLY dry. (Again, willing to think it was carryover cooking during transit.) We want to try them again as soon as the restaurants are reopened.
