10/10 -- Our New Favorite Restaurant! We're still pretty new to the area and have been slowly finding our favorite places, and Rail Stop has officially taken the #1 spot for us. We absolutely loved our experience and already know we'll be bringing our friends and family here when they come to visit. We started with the Soprasata pizza, and honestly, the gluten-free crust blew us away. One of the biggest frustrations with eating gluten-free is that there's often a trade-off in quality. You get the accommodation, but the gluten-free bread, bun, or crust is usually just... okay. That was absolutely NOT the case here. The gluten-free pizza crust was so good it hurt your feelings. My absolute favorite gluten-free bread is from Against the Grain, and the crust here tasted incredibly similar to their products. We actually looked them up afterward to see if they make pizza crust--and sure enough, they do. That level of attention to detail was something my partner and I really appreciated. It's one thing for a restaurant to offer a gluten-free alternative because they have to accommodate a dietary restriction. It's another thing entirely to clearly care about the quality of that alternative. Rail Stop doesn't feel like a restaurant that tosses a low-quality gluten-free bun at you and expects you to be grateful. They genuinely care about the food they're putting out, and it shows. The gluten-free fries were another huge highlight. They were perfectly crisp and SO good. Finding gluten-free fries that I can safely eat when dining out is rare, so it was such a welcome surprise. Typically, fries are something I have to skip, so being able to order them and actually enjoy them made me feel surprisingly... normal. That meant a lot to me. We also had the house-roasted turkey sandwich made gluten-free, and it was fantastic. The gluten-free bread held up really well, the bacon was amazing, the basil in the pesto was delicious, and all of the flavors worked so well together. It was also a very generous portion. We tried the buttermilk fried chicken as well (this was made regular, not gluten-free), and it was "solid", my partner says. Everything we had felt thoughtfully prepared. Nothing was greasy, the portions were generous, and the quality of the food exceeded our expectations. They also have a separate fryer, everything is house-made, and they're able to make modifications to accommodate gluten-free needs. That level of care made us feel very comfortable dining here. And then there's the bathroom, which sounds like a strange thing to rave about in a restaurant review, but it was impressively clean and genuinely pleasant. It was... elegant? I know that sounds ridiculous for a bathroom, but it really was. Even the locking mechanism on the door was thoughtfully designed. My partner kept looking at me and saying, "DUDE..." like Crush from Finding Nemo, because he was so impressed with everything. We also want to give a huge thank-you to Neythaniel, who provided exceptional service. He helped guide us through the menu, was perfectly attentive to what we needed, and was somehow also handling the host stand while taking care of us and other tables. We noticed the hard work and the great time management, and we really appreciated your hospitality. Thank you for taking such good care of us! Overall, Rail Stop was a 10/10 and an easy 5 stars for us. If you go, GET THE SOPRASATA PIZZA. It is heavenly. We are so happy that we found such an amazing restaurant this early into living here. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The food and drinks are both exceptionally high-quality, and you can really taste the attention to detail in everything they serve. It is on the pricier side, but if you're looking to enjoy a nice meal where you know you're getting quality, this is definitely the place to go. We went for brunch this time of round, and it did not disappoint! It's also rarely busy, so you can usually find a seat without much of a wait. Had another opportunity to grab an early weekday dinner at Rail Stop, and this place delivered again. Almost two years later, and the place still is impeccably clean, and those green leather booths are inviting. Service was great and got us in and out rather quickly...though we never felt rushed at all. I would have been happy to order the steak tips or burger again, but the tips have been replaced by steak frites on the menu. Food is actually pretty good. Bar looks good. But the service is so bad it is not worth the hassle. It was about 10% full. Why such slow service? They had lots of staff just hanging out. Then they brought the wrong order. When we told them we now had to rush they still took 10 min to bring a take away container. Sad. read more

Very quiet on a Summer Saturday for brunch with school being out for the Summer. Will pick up tonight with a concert across the street. Beautiful restaurant and great menu. Had a fantastic blackberry mimosa- more than a dozen flavors available. My lobster eggs Benedict was reasonably priced with lots of lobster. The breakfast potatoes were just the way I like them- crispy. Too full for dessert but they had some good options. Service was friendly and attentive. My only disappointment was that I got the peach and tomato burrata with some grilled shrimp to take home- it was going to be my dinner. Got home and discovered they forgot the grilled peaches. It was sort of the whole point of me ordering it. They apologized and refunded me when I called but it left me having to cook dinner. Everything else was good so I'll try them again. We came here for a work lunch, and I was very pleased with this restaurant. It has a lot of tables and a beautiful bar area. I started out with a mock Arnold Palmer, which was delicious. A perfect mix between the tea and lemonade. It was hard choosing what to have, as there were so many great options. I ended up going with the tuna poke bowl, a nice scoop of chopped raw tuna mixed with onion and a light dressing on top of rice and all the veggies. Everything was fresh. What I liked is that they gave you a half of an avocado - no skimping here! Everything that my coworkers had for lunch looked delicious. Our waitress was attentive. Can you say SLAPALICIOUS???!! Honeeyyyyeeee that Eggs Benedict Hollandaise sauce was a symphony on my tongue! Oh and the Hibiscus Mimosa was the winner by FAR out of all that was on the Mimosa Tree. We made reservations for this past Sunday and noticed the table next to us had this beautiful Mimosa tree so we decided to do the same, you get four choices - Pineapple Juice, Pear, Strawberry Lemonade and Hibiscus were our selections. The Steak Tips and Eggs were scrumptious (as witnessed that the plate was clean) and the Belgian waffle hit the spot. Also the Acai bowl was enjoyed as well. Not a bad item did we have at our table. The bacon was a little over done but they replaced them as soon as we said something. Service was efficient and the ambiance here is so nice. Great spot for brunch! I will be back. There's other people have mentioned, the service was slow but steady. We didn't really mind. We were in no big hurry. We started off with the rib appetizer which was just barely enough for three guys who didn't want to spoil their appetite. The ribs are very tasty, but not very meaty. I also tried the clam chowder which was excellent. I would get it again. For dinner I had the harvest salad and I could only eat half of it. It's very large. And tasty. This restaurant looks very nice and the prices on food are reasonable. The drinks are pricey but that's normal for the city. My shot of screwball peanut butter whiskey on the rocks cost around $12 or something like that. But I guess that's how restaurants make the money these days. Clicquot in the Snow was such a great experience located outside of Rail Stop. The atmosphere is a lodge in the slopes! Different for the Brighton area. Rail Stop has set this up very nicely with great food options and fantastic staff for the first evening to the public. The event is currently for this weekend to which they seem to have other events coming up. I love a very cold glass of the yellow label which was paired nicely with our appetizers. The ambience was definitely an après ski feel with great music. Offered an area to take group pictures with fur-like coats that make this experience even better! Worth the trip out to Brighton. Great food. Great vibes. Great service. We were in the area for a track meet and wanted to grab a bite while visiting the New Balance outlet. What a great choice. We arrived at 2:25 and were told that we could still get brunch despite it ending at 2:30. Score! I split a mimosa flight with a friend and made my own omelette. The mimosa flight had a beautiful presentation, one that I would love to recreate. My create-your-own omelette was cooked to perfection with spinach and pepperjack cheese. The plate had a mound of really good potatoes that this carb-restrictive diet just could not allow. The omelette also came with a bread of your choice. After reading all the reviews and seeing the less than impressive exterior, I wasn't sure what to expect at Rail Stop. But as I had just come from Warrior Ice Arena, the location was perfect. The interior is beautiful. Gorgeous light fixtures. It's clear that a lot of thought went into the design. The space feels more elevated than the price point would have you believe. I was greeted quickly by my server, and ordered the lobster roll and an old fashioned. The toast on the roll was perfect; more than enough lobster spilled from it. I ate every last bite, never touching the fries. If you're a connoisseur of old fashioneds, lace up your skates and get here. It was well balanced, served over a single cube of ice in a crystal rocks glass, and garnished with a lovely orange rose and dark cherry. My only regret? Living 3089 miles away. read more

A nice restaurant right by Brighton Landing stop. It can definitely be a great sports bar especially with the ice area so close by. I came here to celebrate a family dinner and was impressed with the food and service. We ordered a few appetizers to start the meal off and I got the scallops as my entree. They were cooked nicely and went well with the asparagus and mashed potatoes sides that we ordered to share. The place itself is quite big and also has outdoor patio seating for when the weather is nice out. Overall, great place to grab dinner at. read more

The food was ok - the drinks were ok - folks were very kind and service slow but steady. Overall not a spot I would choose to go again but seems like a great space if you want a view of the TV with a pint and appetizer. The inside was very spacious and I appreciated the cute rubber duckies hidden throughout but it was a very commercial feel. We had the lobster cocktail, salmon tartare and sushi platter - all seemed fresh but not present in flavor. The presentation of the tartare was cute with what seemed like homemade chips that were seeping in oil but generous with crunch. A step up from Cheesecake Factory kind of place - a lot of effort to develop a nice cocktail list, just not quite the right fit for me. The dollar oysters are an incredible deal. Most places with dollar oysters feel like you're getting the left over, tiny oysters that aren't so fresh and about to expire. This place has huge oysters. So sweet and not salty. I will be returning for this deal every week. The short rib egg rolls were also awesome. Not greasy and so flavorful. I was really impressed. I will certainly try more things here but the oysters have won me over. This hands down might be the best spot for happy hour. The only problem is how close to my gym it is. Haha. read more

Ordered tacos. It was literally one of the blandest things I've ever eaten. No seasoning. They consisted of corn tortillas, likely store-bought mass-produced slaw, and what tasted like microwave chicken strips. I could have made this at home for about $2, but instead paid 10 times that. The only seasoning on the dish was Cajun spice sprinkled on fries. Service was slow, but he was new. Atmosphere fine. Will never go again. read more

Love this place!!! I live in the neighborhood, so this place is just ... easy. Nice and a little upscale ... but not fussy. From the atmosphere to the food ... it's all pretty great. First, the layout of this restaurant is really nice. I really appreciate how spacious it is inside. Even when crowded, you never feel cramped. They have a great party room, where I got to experience a classy retirement party. I also love the bathrooms. Weird ... but I do. Also, very spacious. The food is also pretty good. Not amazing but very consistently good. Definitely what you want for an easy, neighborhood restaurant. They have a great variety and good portion sizes. Where this place really shines is probably in its drinks. I was really impressed with the drink menu and the quality of the drinks that they serve. They have a ton of different liquors and beers, and the bartenders are all very knowledgeable in both. I also really appreciate that they serve nonalcoholic beers and cocktails. More places should as well!!! Lastly, and where I think they could improve ... is service. Very inconsistent. I've sat at both the bar and at a table several times. Sometimes service is good at the bar or at a table and sometimes very poor ... and not attentive. Went here for the first time tonight to celebrate with others we knew. The food came hot and ready to eat. The portion sizes were just right for each of us. The server and other staff were friendly and helpful with our needs during our entire meals. The place was well lit and we found where we needed to meet the others we joined with a little assistance. Sat night, place was less than half full. My drink took 30 minutes to get to my table, my date's took 45 minutes. I had to stand by our table and flag server down like a stranded motorist. We asked for rolls while we waited for food so we could eat something, anything. Meals got to us in 55 minutes, both were cold. Our drinks were drained so we had our tap water with our meals. Server never came back to ask about meals, which we would have set back to be heated up, or to replenish our drinks. At this point we've been here an hour and a half and just wanted to get out of here. We got parking validated and Maitre D said he was aware of our poor experience and offered us a gift card. Whoops ! He didn't have any left so he gave us a card for a free appetizer. Then we get to our car and looked at the bill. They gave us a $10.00 surcharge for the bread !!! Remember kids, not every place will be a winner! I had gone ice skating at the rink with some friends and we wanted to go get something to eat. We decided on Railstop since it is in Brighton Landing and there aren't many other options in it apart from burgers and pizza. The inside feels very bougee but the food prices are less than what i usually see at other boston restaurants of this scale which is nice. Server was nice but eventually we had to get someone to help us despite them not being really busy. The drink I got was alright. It was fun and aesthetic but missing the alcohol and the flavor for me. We weren't impressed with the food as well.. The flavors were not there for me and so I was a little disappointed. I think this would be the place to visit if you are Brighton Landing to grab some quick food or have drinks after work but It's not somewhere you will need to go out of your way for. Another celebration with a friend moving back to the state and we ordered quite a bit of their appetizers and entrées sections of the menu. Crab cakes weren't too bready and had sufficient crab meat and the calamari was nicely crispy without too much batter (just wished we had more of the aioli). For the entrées, the Bourbon steak tips were cooked to a pleasant smokiness and the Black Angus center cut filet was by far the star of the show with its succulent tenderness cooked between a rare to medium rare which can be seen during cutting before devouring the plate. The intensity of its tenderness was something to experience. Espresso martinis weren't too creamy or heavy so leaned towards the balanced side. Weekend trip!! Stopped by this local spot for some great food. Loved the decor inside and especially their music. You can go casual or dress up for a nice meal out. Was very very pleased to looked around while eating in. Staff was masks on but not everyone. We started off with; Clam Chowder was very good, a big bowl and probably didn't need an entree after a starter and soup. Calamari was also very good. I think they season their breadcrumbs perfectly. Came with 2 different sauces under the serving. A Hollandaise and sweet chili. Jalapeño margarita was off menu, strong but the seeds of the jalapeño were a turn off. Well, ain't this the place to be! We come for after-dinner drinks and usually dinner with the people I like from the office. We lay claim to the corner of the long, long bar and entertain each other and sometimes the staff. Our friends always miss their first and sometimes second train to Worcester. If concerts are going on in one of the two venues or, god forbid, a hockey event, be patient. I have seen this place and its staff balls-to-the-walls for hours. The staff rocks and will do their best. Hey, they have dollar oysters till 6 pm during the week; these are from different sources, so enjoy. The beer selection is grand. The wine is very good. The cocktails menu is entertaining and tasty; not all just sweet syrupy stuff either; some real flavor is to be had. I have had good conversations with the crowd too. I like a good open chatty bunch of people out for dinner and a show. I need to come here for lunch. The food runs from fresh to good solid pub food to more delicately flavored fish. Still working on it, but my wife and I are starting to split things so we can taste more. Bring your own crowd. Now I am a barfly; in a sense, I like sitting at the bar, but the dining room is spacious and has a couple of different zones. You could have a nice intimate meal with the person you want to kanoodle with here too. Or just be anonymous in the sea of people when it's full. I am definitely a new fan, even though I have only kept good company here. The drinks and food will keep me coming back. read more

For brunch? joint, I felt this place was very fancy and needlessly upscale looking. I say brunch because as of 1:30 pm, the menu mostly pointed towards breakfast related items. Since I just finished eating at the Broken Records, I opted for the Acai Berry Bowl and Sparkling Personality. The bowl was standard fare, but I was definitely in need of something healthy. The Sparkling Personality had Cava, which is Spanish Wine (looked it up). It was quite strong, which I loved and had an alcoholic cucumber kick to it everything I took a sip. I had a poor experience here, and I would have liked for it to be better because I love to support small businesses. Sadly, they did not deliver. The first time I came here back in April was fine, I really enjoyed their firecracker shrimp and the pizza was okay. Creme brûlée was great which is why I wanted to come back here. The second and last time I'd come here was under impressive. We were seated inside a big, beautiful indoor dining area, where the ambiance and environment is very comfortable and beautiful. But that's about it. I ordered a chicken sandwich which was good, but could have had a better kick. We tried their pumpkin soup which was less than impressive. We were offered a lobster roll special, and my friend decided on that but we were very displeased. The special was $15 I believe and the lobster roll had 3 bites of lobster on it, if that. I could have went anywhere else and got more lobster than here. Which was disappointing because I recommended this place to him. Finally, we paid for our meal and left the tip, but then about a half hour after leaving and driving a significant distance away, we realized the waiter never returned his card. This was at 4pm, so we called to make sure his card was there to retrieve it from the waiter who did not return it. We were told they didn't know if they had it, and if they did it was locked up in a safe until the next day. Mind you, we had left no later than a half hour prior. So we were frustrated at not knowing whether the card was there, why the card was not returned, and had a dissatisfying meal. The next day we called and it ended up being locked up, but they took a lot of time out of my schedule due to the waiters negligence. You can have a beautiful restaurant but if the food and service is mediocre, it's not a good look. read more
