Stayed at the Hyatt for four nights. The attitude of the staff at the restaurant is just tough. There must be a management issue as everyone is unhappy, very tight and very snippy. This restaurant only open for breakfast and is very rundown. The food that they serve is fine and nothing is really bad food wise, but nothing is really amazing. It's a solid spot. I've been visiting this Hyatt for sometime and go to this spot for breakfast when it's included in the room. In the past the breakfast was very bad I'd say. It was limited to the buffet and just honestly not good. Almost all the hot food was out or not available. Now these days when breakfast is included in the room, you can order off their menu which is much better. I'm a fan of the green goodness smoothie. My only complaint is that when you're waiting to get seated it can take a minute because they don't always seat you immediately. I don't think I'd mind as much but the hard thing about waiting is that's the hallway you're waiting in is freezing. It's like a wind tunnel, hence I want to get seated sooner than later. read more

The buffet options were fairly limited. The bacon was a bit overcooked from sitting in the warming tray, and the potatoes were on the dry side. My boyfriend chose the buffet, while I ordered the avocado toast with over-medium eggs. It was decent, but both the buffet and my dish needed quite a bit of salt and pepper to bring out the flavor. On the plus side, the a la carte menu items looked a bit more promising based on what we saw at nearby tables. We waited at the host stand and a server walked by, said hello and kept walking. Thanks for the greeting but we were left confused if we should seat ourselves or keep standing there. The server should have said hello and someone will be right with you. Finally seated and I ordered the fruit & yogurt. My meal was finally delivered after my husband completed eating his meal. I was left sitting there so long I had to wave the server down to ask if I get my meal from the buffet or if it comes from the kitchen. It actually comes from the kitchen and was sitting on the counter the entire time. She gets it and the plate is full of fruit and literally 2 tbs of yogurt. Horrible! This is a restaurant at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Rosa, California. It's kind of hidden away inside the hotel but is a very nice location for dinner, cocktails and a great conversation. We only experienced drinks and a dessert. There's a fireplace in the bar area of the restaurant along with ambiance lighting. The restaurant manager Jeremy is straight out of GQ magazine and has great conversation if that's what you're looking for. The bartender on duty was Jonathan and the whiskey options were extensive. We dined here twice this past weekend, Sunday and Monday mornings. At this time, they are serving a breakfast buffet. We enjoyed the food immensely. From my experiences, Hyatt routinely serves a quality product at their Regency restaurants. The buffet included the standard faire: thick-cut bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes or hash browns, breads, pastries, cereals, juices, and coffee. They don't skimp on quality. The meals were complimentary for us because of our Globalist status, so I'm not sure of the value/cost otherwise. As far as Happy Hours go, it was a good first impression. New chef/menu. They are working out the kinks. I liked the plentiful indoor/outdoor seating, appetizers were $3-5 for a fair portion, and the wine we chose was pleasant. We shared pulled pork slider, mango shrimp cocktail, black angus slider, and housemade chips with spinach-artichoke dip, red wine, white wine....$25. I'll take it. :) The shrimp dish was the least favorite - I'm guessing it had been sitting too long in the cocktail, making the texture all together much too mushy. The artichoke dip was a bit bland but some added salt and pepper were all it took. :) Chips were great, though I realize they're just fried potatoes. :) Both sliders were tasty and the wines were a sufficient pour. I would give the 3 star for the food as the menu doesn't look too Brasserie, but I added one more star for the service. Although the bartender was kinda a 'dick', I had exceptionally excellent service from the restaurant. All that being said, I still gave a four star overall for the complicated experience for a simple meal. I walked in around 3pm on Aug.23, Sunday, looking for full menu as I just had a marathon race. The place was quite empty. The bartender gave me a bar menu when I asked for a full menu and was told no full menu till 5pm. Luckily a nice waitress came and saved my legs to switch restaurant. I am giving extra kudo to the waitress and the restaurant as I had a full menu at 3pm. She was kind enough to help with my special need. The customized order was done very well. I keep forgetting the name of this place because it's in a Hotel. I was lucky to come here with Ramon M whom worked here at the time and we were treated great - all 4 of us. I had a Ribeye Steak that was tender and juicy and some wine by the glass - good well known brands (it's a hotel after all) and priced right. We ate here for dinner because we stayed at the adjoining hotel and had credits to eat here. We all ordered several appetizers to share and had steaks for our entrees: the flank and the skirt. The two steak dishes were almost identical, just a different cut of steak. They did a great job of cooking them medium rare and rare though; not overcooked. But overall the food was just so-so, and not much to write home about. the only highlight of my meal was the gingersnap cannoli (see picture). I don't have a sweet tooth, but oh my those were delicious! I was debating between two and three stars, but the Yelp description for 2 stars was "Meh. I've experienced better." Well said. Hmmm. Mixed feelings about the Brasserie. I remember it being a lot better the last time I came. Walked in around 9:00 p.m., on a Thursday night and sat on the patio. We didn't have drinks, we had two waters, and had to ask for refills. We ordered pork sliders (which came with fried pickles) and a salad with citrus vinaigrette. Both weren't impressive for the price. My salad was just a bunch of chopped romaine with a pile of whole cherry tomatoes. Zero presentation. For a region known for its culinary creations, I expected much more. That citrus vinaigrette that I spoke about... It was orange juice and had the same consistency. It needed more of a "dressing" consistency. Maybe happy hour is better, I don't really drink but maybe twice a year. I can't imagine coming here again for those two items we ordered. I have so much to say about this place, I'm thinking some bullet points may be in order . There were two of us, but we managed to try several menu items- thanks to the several "small plates" options. First- the fried green beans with chipotle aioli is now my new favorite deep fried vegetable finger food (Rustic's zucchini fries being a close second.) Also got to try the chicken skewers with peanut sauce. Didn't expect much because I'm not much of a chicken person, but they were so good- I'd actually order them again! The peanut sauce was the bomb, and the chicken was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The pulled pork sandwich was also very, very good! Everything from the flavor of the pork itself to the perfect ciabatta it was served on. I wasn't too jazzed about the coleslaw, but I'm not much of a coleslaw person, so no biggie there. The "cannoli" were incredible! Unlike any cannoli I've ever had, the shells were more like warm florentine cookies and the filling, oh, the filling. I have been here for lunch, dinner, bar, and now a winemaker dinner. Every time I have enjoyed myself. The service is always good. They are very attentive even when it is busy. My favorite meal hands down is their Crab Louie Salad. So so fresh! Really nice mix of tomatoes, beets, cucumber, anchovies, and hard boiled eggs with fresh shrimp and dungeness crab. All topped with a acidic, yet creamy dressing. This meal paired with a Bloody Mary is my Sunday mornings. They also have a wonderful wine list and some great beers on tap. Yelp helped us find this place. We needed somewhere with an outdoor patio that would allow us to bring our doggie companion. The Brasserie obliged. It was also mom's birthday dinner so it had to be good. It was. We were the only ones outside but they were kind enough to turn on the heaters for us. The server was OUTSTANDING! I wish i could remember her name! She took great care of us, chatted like we were old friends, and was especially nice to our doggie -- she gave him lots of bread and water, played with him and told him and us about her doggies. Very sweet. We'd go back again just because of her. Food was also very good. Lots of interesting variety and options. All our choices were good, and they even allowed us to change our minds after placing our orders. On Friday it was Ketel One Vodka, drinks with Ketel One were $5.00. The other days that I remembered were Mondays as Makers Mark and Thursday were Margarita's, for $5.00 Appetizers they do offer at what appears to be an inexpensive rate. Happy Hour appetizers are $3.00. We started with two great raw oysters. At two for $3 not a bad deal. We also had the tomato goat cheese pastry. the tomato was a sun dried and it only had a small one of those, though over all it was good. They also offered a small slice of quesadilla and a deviled egg. I think if they could add to the drinks some beer and wine, they would be drastically improved. read more

Description: We were staying at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek, and because of the convenience of being attached to the hotel, we decided to have a couple of meals here. Looking around the room we noticed that there were lots of table and chairs and hardly any customers. Presently, it needs work with service, interior updates, and a menu update. In a region known for great restaurants, the Brasserie needs to step up and make some changes to meet the area's demands. Location: It is located and situated right alongside the Hyatt Vineyard Creek hotel. However, it is not accessible to the hotel, which seems a bit odd. The entrance is separate and a little inconvenient to access from the hotel. Décor: A rustic country type of décor. The large stain glass lighting is interesting and adds a feature to the room. The bar area has a nice fireplace as the centerpiece which creates a coziness and warmth to the room. There is a small wine wall when you enter the restaurant which is appealing. However, overall the restaurant needs updating of the tables and chairs and carpeting. Menu: The menu for breakfast is limited with just a few selections. Lunch menu was limited as well and mostly comprised of soups, salads and sandwiches. Though there were not many choices, we found the food to be prepared well and was quite good and consistent with each meal we had. Service: There were plenty of staff members in the restaurant, but service was extremely slow and seem unorganized. The couple of times we ate there, our waitresses seemed a bit put out. We noticed this on both occasions with different waitresses. It was a mystery to us as to why, as there were only 10 people in the restaurant on each occasion. The bussers seemed to be a lot friendlier and accommodating than the wait staff. We actually enjoyed talking with several of the younger service employees (maybe they should be promoted to wait staff?) Atmosphere: The atmosphere was "country" including the music in the background. Restrooms: The restrooms were clean and well maintained. Final Thoughts: We dined here on three occasions because we were attending a conference and the location was convenient to the hotel. However, after having a disappointing experience, we decided to venture out and try other options nearby (which were quite good). My recommendation is that it is best to choose another restaurant in the vicinity. The word "upgrade" is needed here, including the interior, menu, and mostly the wait staff. read more

We are staying at the Hyatt, & we had dinner here because it was so close. Well, first Sean the waiter was so wonderful. He served us drinks in the cocktail lounge where we sat outside. Then took us into the restaurant when our reservation was ready. He was so attentive, informative & a real pleasure as he did such a wonderful job. The atmosphere was great, & the food was delicious. I had the steak, my boyfriend had the pork chop, & we both had the chocolate cake for dessert. I also had the butternut soup which was out of this world delicious. I never tasted anything close to that, & it was a real treat. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the menu was so limited & there really should be more choices. With that said the food was delicious, & Sean deserves 10 stars for his wonderful service. read more

I am from the Bay Area and come up to visit every other month. The Hyatt in my opinion is the place to stay. This review is about the Brasserie restaurant and bar. I heard they have just reopened after the large addition of some 300 or so hotel rooms. Just open for 3 weeks I didn't expect more than average, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was the first time I had seen the waitress, she was very nice, accommodating, topping off our champagne before it was empty, a very nice dinning experience. I'd give her a firm 5 stars. The bartender I know from many times of staying here and as usual, very timely and consistent with your drinks. He is one of those people that make you feel like your the most important person there in his interaction, even when attending to multiple people, very good hospitality. Would I come back? I will be back every night I'm in town. It's like a comfortable place where you're always welcome. read more

We had a large party of 10 for a Christmas gathering and I'd read plenty of reviews prior to our visit and came not expecting much at all since the general consensus is that this place has gone down hill. I ordered safe and was still disappointed- I mean really how can you screw up steamed clams and ice cream sandwiches? Well these dime store cooks did!!! Way over salted broth with extremely tiny clams, most of which were already out of the shell on the bottom of the bowl. And the ice cream sandwiches were so hard to eat- the cookies were rock hard and when I'd left two (of three) on the plate and the bus girl came by to clear the dishes said she's told the cooks they were too hard to eat but "they just don't listen"!! The kicker was a friend ordered cocktails and they charged her for one extra that she didn't order and when she stepped up to the bar to speak about it the waitress there yelled it out to the bartender- "Hey Joe Schmo, this lady here thinks you slid a drink into her bill that she didn't get, you wouldn't do that would you?" How unprofessional and entirely unnecessary not to mention embarrassing. I wanted to scream at that person just hearing about her awful behavior. It's sad that the once good Hilton name hires sub-qualified individuals- cooks and waiters. It's not easy to be a good wait person and clearly the wait staff here needs to be trained in true customer service because this current group sucks! I was really surprised by this place! I had viewed their menu online and it seemed EXTREMELY expensive. But, my friends convinced me to go anyways and I figured it would be fun to check out. Turns out, there is a whole bar menu that is really fairly priced at the restaurant that isn't online! They have burgers, charcuterie plates and more all for $10-$15! The burger I has was delicious and it came with the most amazing onion jam! Also, they have an awesome cocktail list with some really fun, fresh flavors. Their beer list is really local and even included Blind Pig from Russian River Brewing Company down the street! The atmosphere is cozy and it was really quiet when we went. The Brasserie Restaurant at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek has been through quite a few changes in the 10 or so years it's been opened. It started as the Brasserie De La Mer and was fantastic. Then executive chef Elizabeth Ozanich was seduced away to run McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood Restaurant in San Francisco. The Restaurant's name changed twice since then and a series of lesser talents took the restaurant through it's "dark ages". A short time ago Richard Whipple took over the reins as Executive Chef and really turned the place around. We had not been back to The Brasserie in a long time. Then one of our favorite wineries (Boletto) held a Winemakers dinner there and we were blown away by the quality of the food. We recently returned for a fantastic lunch. For starters, Mary (me esposa) had the Ahi Tuna with a very spicy peanut sauce. It was first rate and the peanut sauce was delicious, but be sure to use it sparingly. I had the calamari, it was among the best I've ever had. Perfectly fried, but very light with a crisp calamari flavor. It was served with an out-of-this-world aioli that would go well with pretty much anything (well maybe not chocolate). For our main plates, I had the TBLAT. That's a BLT with the addition of Turkey and Avocado. Perfectly composed with a great flavor profile. A great combination perfectly prepared. Mary had the Pulled Kurobuta Pork sandwich served with homemade potato chips and a spicy coleslaw. The Pork was outstanding, tender with a great flavor and not over sauced. The potato chips were better than any we've had anywhere. You should Google Kurobuta Pork if you don't know what it is... It's impressive, not your typical pig! Both sandwiches were fantastic, but the Pork wins by a nose (snout?). Of all the great sides, the homemade potato chips are unbeatable! For dessert, we followed a recommendation and shared the Cannoli, one cannolo each. We thought that we could only have a few bites, but minutes later they were both gone! And we don't normally eat a dessert if it's not chocolate! All in all, we highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner. We'll be back read more
