We found this place while we were on a motorcycle ride. The food was excellent. The staff was super friendly. Great atmosphere.

A friend told me he had taken his girlfriend here for dinner recently, that he loved it, and that their seafood was fantastic. I took a Sunday Drive on a Wednesday and stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. I ordered an Evan Williams old fashioned. It was perfect. It was spicy despite the appearance of not being muddled. I ordered a cup each of the Rhode Island Chowder and the Lobster Bisque. I was delighted the chowder was very full-bodied and very flavorful. The Lobster Bisque was one of the richest and most flavorful I've ever had. The flavor profile was dense and creamy. I made a special request to have a lobster carbonara prepared for me, and the kitchen was happy to oblige. The carbonara was excellent, and most of the lobster was claw-meat. There was a nice balance of lobster in the sauce. It paired nicely with an Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. I am genuinely excited to make a return trip here! read more

So haven't been to railside since it changed hands and name. Restaurant has been cleaned up and looks good inside. Bar was very busy and waitress doubled ass bar tender on the bar side. Worked hard but probably could have used a little help with a back server. Appetizers were terrible. Nachos were a mess and on stale multi color tortilla chips. Cheese not melted more canned jalapeños than chicken. The waitress/bar tender came over after serving with a plate of lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and salsa and explained without us prompting or complaining; "there's an new guy in the kitchen" The crab cakes looked like they were good until I bit into them. Burnt. I didn't dare eat them and actually we left at this point taking our entrees home with us as a strange older gentleman just started taking our food without saying anything. I asked for the food back and takeout boxes. The short rib shepherds pie was more of a dissembled dish but good flavors. The fish tacos were outstanding! As you can tell I was very critical of the appetizers but if I i was to return it would be for the fish tacos, they tasted fresh and plenty of vegetables. The fried Cajun batter was good and they were seasoned well. Unfortunate experience and was not helped by poor appetizers. Came for dinner with friends! We arrived around 545pm, there was only one person in line before us. Due to limited seating it took a little while to be sat at a table, after about 20 minutes we were seated. Someone came over to give us the menus and then an additional employee came over to do the same thing. We ordered one alcoholic beverage each. I ordered the Georgia peach. It was refreshing and flavorful! It didn't taste like booze until I realized it definitely was there. The server came back about 10 minutes later for a food order. For dinner I ordered the fish and chips. There was a lot of burgers and wings around us so I wasn't sure how it would be.. we asked for extra ranch and a plate of fries to be spilt also. It felt like the food took a while to arrive, there was a table of 5 across the way that came in after us and had gotten theirs before. When the food arrived I was incredibly impressed with the size of the fish. For $14.99 I wasn't expecting much. I had two full size filets on a plate with fries and coleslaw. The breading was hot crunchy and moist. Definitely not dry at all, the fish inside was warm, flaky and delicious! The fries were meh. A bit soggy, not enough salt for my taste and reminded me of 2day old fries. My friends got wings, the portions were huge. The sauce on them was a bit light but the crunch and flavors were on point! It's out of the way so I'm not sure if I'll get the chance to be back, but definitely impressed! read more

My boyfriend and I decided to go to dinner and we've been wanting to try this place out. We went and they said it was a 20 min wait, no problem a Saturday night we expected a wait. It ended up only being 10 mins if that. We sat down ordered waters, and zucchini chips as an appetizer. 90% sure it was zucchini and yellow squash- it was good. My boyfriend ordered a special short rib Shepard's pie, I ordered what their menu called "Parmesan Crusted chicken". Now I have had multiple Parmesan crusted chickens from multiple restaurants in the past, so I was pretty confident I knew what I would be getting- I read the explanation and the only thing it said was "Fresh chicken in a Parmesan egg crust with sauce (keto friendly)". We waited about 30 min for our food and when it came I was in shock because it was nothing like I expected- it looked like egg foo young or chicken in a pancake batter. I took one bite of the "crust" and could not finish the rest. It should have been under the healthy menu in the first place. The waitress was great and offered to get me something else but I wasn't going to wait for something else. The manager gave me my meal for half off. All in all- my boyfriend liked his meal and their Caesar salad was great but unfortunately probably won't go back. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience! Poor service, BAD ATTITUDE, No Follow through. A couple of opportunities to WOW turn into multiple disappointments. 1st - BEWARE their prices online. What you see is NOT what you'll be charged. Online prices=$45 Actual pick up prices are almost $75.00 When I mentioned that price difference? "Oh, we haven't gotten around to changing those prices". No apology, no offer to stand by those prices... just dripping with attitude. 2nd - Then they forgot an item in my order. It happens, I get it. When I call back to ask about the missing item...(after I brought the pickup order home 30+ min round trip) The hostess, M (Initial of her 1st name) makes it seem like it was my fault and my problem. AND I should drive back and pick it up and not inconvenience them with the item sitting by the door. Instead, I requested my money back on the item. BTW - she never made that offer I did. After I asked? She just gave a ton of additional attitude. Then (after she spoke to the manager) tells me they can't credit my card. REALLY? Everyone else in the world can do it! She offers a gift card. With no other options, I ask her to mail it. She takes my address and tells me she will mail it. Very impressed with this place. Started with the calamari good serving size fresh and well garnished. Main course was the seafood dish special over pasta (Diablo fro something) loaded with large scallops and lobster pieces and jumbo shrimp. It was incredible. Wife got a pastrami Ruben with fries. Stopped in for lunch today, cute place! The bacon wrapped scallops were on the specials menu and cooked perfectly, the crab cakes were Amazing! Loved this tavern!! Great menu with lots of choices and good bar drinks. The bar area is comfy with booths and high top chairs . We sat in the dining area with a cozy atmosphere and nice decor. The food was great. French onion soup was rich and tasty, pasta sauce was thick and delicious. Our server Michaela was wonderful!! So friendly and accommodating snd prompt. Very attentive to our needs. We went on a Saturday night and didn't wait, but the place was busy. They are enforcing all the COVID guide lines and the place is clean and the middle tables not in use, glass partitions between the booths so it's very safe. 2nd times a charm.. My husband and I had come here when they first opened. We did not care for it at all. So glad we gave it another chance after having customers of ours tell us different cook and food is so much better then it was. We enjoyed everything. Only thing we didn't care for was the lobster bisque. Other then that from beinging to end we were super happy with our waitress, drinks & food. Amazing specials. My wife and I stopped in for lunch today, they had outside tables and inside open, we decided to go inside, after standing in the dining room a waitress says sit anywhere. We sat at a booth in plain sight of everyone, a few minutes pass and then more, saying to myself am i invisible? No menu's , I will be right with you, nothing. Buy the way there was one couple inside, and 2 tables outside with customers. So after 15 mins of nothing, we walked out. I know i customer will not make or break a business, but i treat every one of my customers with the best service possible. I'm not happy that after waiting 30 mins for a booth, the regulars can walk right in, no reservations, and the owner gives them a booth before me. Can't wait for the owner to come see me. Update. Decided to stop in here on a whim, it was pretty busy, every table remained full for the time we were there. The loaded fries were good, i would probably try another appetizer next time but they certainly weren't bad. The french onion soup was supposedly really good and the railside burger was great, very big with good fries. My only issue was the wait. It was far beyond a "it's busy" wait time. When our meal was done we asked for a takeout box and waited about 20 minutes for it as our waitress was no where to be found. It wasn't until she walked back out of the kitchen and saw us that she asked another waitress to get us a box and check. Then, a third waitress came and took the bill. I absolutely love dining at railside. Knowing it's family owned makes it even better! The quality of the food is what gets you through the door but it's the atmosphere and family vibes that keeps you coming back! I've been wanting to try this place out for a while, and finally stopped by after work last Thursday to pick up a sausage and pepperoni pizza. It's a bit pricy for the size, but not TOO bad. I wasn't a huge fan of the sausage (big chunks of sausage links, rather than thinner slices or balls, like most places), but the rest of the pizza was great. The cheese was nice, and it has parmesan sprinkled onto it. It made the pizza a bit too salty, but really added flavor. There was just the right amount of sauce (which was good), the crust wasn't bland like some places I've been to, and there were plenty of toppings (I DID order two toppings, so I'm not sure how much there would have been if I only ordered one). All-in-all, not my favorite pizza place, but definitely better than some I've been to. Give them a try sometime and see if you like it. read more

After years of not going here because food was not good, we went back on our neighbors word food was better. We tried it again on our neighbors recommendation and found it to be true, food was tastier and specials were good as well. So good, we ate there 3x's within a 2 week period. We went back tonight and got a to container only to get home and notice we left it there. Now I only live 10 minutes (or less) from this restaurant and called right away only to be told it was tossed. I was offered a $5 credit towards our next meal. They have my slip, they know how much I spent (each time over $100) and they know how much their food cost (at least $14 a sandwich, nor matter what you order). Im not one to complain but the answer got from them was pretty much GFYS. Well, luckily we have choices. I choose to drive a little further to spend my momey elsewhere where im appreciated and most likely the server would chase after us letting us know we forgot our box. Thanks for nothing Railside. Our first time here and wow- just wow. The food was just as good as the hype. Started with the Strawberry Sangria and Mango Punch- delicious. Then the crispy fried zucchini appetizer, the Rail Burger, and Fish and Cake dinner. Everything was perfect but the New England chowder was the shining star. Best either of us has ever had.
