I have been going here for 4 years. All of a sudden the portions and ingredients are not the same. The prices are though. I can only speak to what I ordered the last 3 times. Chkn, masala, and teri-chkn burgers. The usual is a full chkn breast in all of those items, they're now thin pounded slice of chkn brst. The bakery brioche bun now a Safeway brand buns. Veggies not same kind or quality or kind, pineapple out of a can. No dripping teriyaki sauce. Fries 3/4 full. The chkn masala was the worst one (broke my heart) dry, burnt, pounded out, not the same seasoning...I am laying this all out because I know they're new owners but this a neighborhood staple, a place people go out of their way to visit. The sauces aren't even the same. The description of all the menu items on the website aren't accurate. They're are award winning burgers on the menu, but now they're not the same ingredients. There are posters of the awards. If you're going to go cheap and practice shrinkflation, at the very least lower the prices and change the menu description. We had the Mariners Burger and liked the avocado in it. The Mushroom Swiss Burger was good, and my daughter enjoyed the Chicken Masala Burger. You can really taste the Indian spices. The Bacon Cheeseburger was also alright. Overall the burgers were good, just wished the onions were cut thinner. The vibes has a vintage interior; just would be nice if the place got tidied up a bit. The star of the show were the tater tots. The burgers are named after local Seattle teams which is really great. The food came out quickly and was hot. The bun was sturdy enough to keep all the toppings on for the whole time. The place was much larger than I thought and filled with sports memorabilia. read more

the patty is interesting - so i think it's pretty inarguable that a grilled chicken patty does not taste as good as a beef patty, but on the contrary, a grilled chicken patty is pretty much the healthiest kind of burger you can get this isn't even a fried patty like every other kind of chicken sandwich has - it's straight up healthy grilled chicken since i was the one who made the choice to go with grilled chicken, i'm not sure how to include that in my review as far as the patty itself - i thought the exterior was nice and cooked well. Unfortunately, I didn't really feel any of the 'spices' that they claim to have marinated this in - there was a little bit of flavor but really just tasted like grilled chicken i could make at home. There was no spiciness to the patty at all. It was a bit too cooked too - i thought it could've been more juicy I thought the buns were average - they didn't seem to be toasted well if at all - and didn't really have a crunch like you'd associate with a well toasted bun The onions really came through in the burger - adding a really nice texture, and they combined with the pickles to replace some of the missing flavor from the patty The cheese was above average as well The good thing about the sauce was there was a lot of it. The bad thing is that it really didn't add anything except being slightly sweet and softening up the burger buns a bit. A better sauce would've improved the buns a lot Lastly, the Oreo Shake. I thought this was fantastic - there were clearly a ton of blended oreos in. It wasn't as thick as I would've liked - felt more like a liquid - but you could really feel the oreo flavor with every sip. The best part was the end - when there were just a bunch of half-blended oreos sitting at the bottom and you had to eat them with a spoon because the straw wouldn't suck them up as far as portion size - i was pretty full after eating, but that might be more due to the shake than the burger. Probably a little overpriced. In my opinion, the grilled chicken burgers should be cheaper than the beef ones read more

OK, it's my son's birthday. He wanted a burger. I heard about this place for the last 10 years never really went, but we went and got him a big old double cheeseburger with bacon. It was amazing. The service was good even though there was a few lacking issues like they forgot to cook our Burger and the burger was like $15 fries were separate. That was an extra five milkshake was like an extra five my beer was like an extra six so it was a little overpriced. The ambience was a nice little local burger place. It wasn't super busy, but it's a small business that I definitely will go back and support. We were very pleased. We ate them there and took the rest to go. I've been here twice- once for takeout and one for eating in- and both times they gave me a meat burger despite ordering a veggie burger. Both times I verified that I ordered a veggie burger. The most recent time, the wrapper even said VG on it and had pickles removed as ordered yet they gave me a meat burger and a veggie burger to my partner who ordered meat. Both times they corrected the order and were apologetic but honestly I have lost trust in this place. If you're a vegetarian or vegan be aware and double check your order!!! read more

Yumm! Been eyeing this spot for years always intending to stop. Yesterday I was in the right spot and HUNGRY! Got a blue cheese bacon burger and oh my goodness! Heavenly! Order at the counter and the cashier will bring your order to you. Staff is friendly and clearly have many regulars as they chatted up customers. I didn't realize there were tables til I stepped inside. Basic seating about 8 tables but tables and chairs were wiped down and clean. Really solid burger spot. Prices are good and the atmosphere is very community centered. I love the owners support various sports teams and they seem really proud to put the pictures on the walls. The interior is cozy and it reminds me of an old school mom and pop burger shop by a beach or neighborhood. Service is always great and the rotating college or high school students are trained well. The rain city sauce is a nice blend of smoky and creamy. I enjoy it on my patties and the grill on them is always perfect. With so much burger competition I focus more on the quality of the burger. I've watched staff carefully put together each burger. It's not like a conveyer belt model in which meat and bread is slapped on without care. It reminds me of a family member make food with love at a cookout. I love supporting this burger joint and they have lots of combinations of burgers. If you're not a purist, this is a plus. **Vegetarian Review** MUST TRY. Stumbled into this place unexpectedly and had one of the best burgers. Not many places have a veggie burger, but Rain City had 5+ options. We got the Mushroom Swiss, per suggestion and it did not disappoint. Veggie patty was bomb. Thick portobello slice was complimented by a think pickle. Their house sauce is like a BBQ thousand island and that could go on everything. Sweet potato fries were also a must. Service was great from recommendations, to quick food delivery and employees cleaned tables after patrons finished. TVs for football games and place was packed with other people who were audibly enjoying their meals. I would not pass by this place without trying. Rain city burger is located in a convenient location in Roosevelt! I got the sonics burger and some sweet potato fries. My total was $17 which I thought was a little steep for burgers and fries. The food was good, but also nothing special. They do have an extensive menu though so I would be interested in trying their other burgers! I stopped in here for a quick bite when my friend and I couldn't decide on what to eat! I feel like you can't go wrong with burgers and they were decent!! I also liked the fries, I normally don't go for thick cut but they had a good bite to them. I ordered the ABLT ($10.64) and it was smaller than I expected. With that said I was full and satisfied by the end! My friend got a burger with the fries and paid ~$20 and didn't think it was worth it. It definitely gives small local shop vibes. The area it's located in (roosevelt) is really peaceful! It's been hard for me to find a lot of burger places in seattle, so it's worth checking out if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more

These are the absolute best burgers in the Seattle area. Lots of different options, fair prices, excellent shakes! Really fast service. Only a few tables, so be aware during busy times you might not be able to sit inside. Tip: Order off the Rain City website if you're going to pick up. I was craving a burger and Rain City Burgers was nearby, so I ordered takeout. They're fast, it took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready. I really enjoyed the burger! Their beef patty was thick, and the toppings and sauce were flavorful. I also enjoyed the sweet potato fries, which were pretty crispy and not too soft. The only improvement I would give the burger is for the bun, which was a little dry. I wish the bun had been softer. Though they have a whole veggie burger menu, it's only boca burgers or a black bean burger, which are not particularly appetizing choices as a vegetarian of over a decade. There are tastier and better quality veggie burgers out there. Because of that, I ordered a grilled cheese and tots, which were quite tasty! The shake was also pretty good and was made freshly. The pricing was pretty reasonable for the area. They got my food out pretty quick even though I was a walk in for the take out order. All the burgers are under $10 which is amazing given the average price of burgers I've seen elsewhere in the range of $10-15+. Some of their best selling burgers are ones named after Seattle sports teams. Even the walls and decor of the restaurant are those of Seattle sports teams colorways like neon green and blue. They also serve beer and wine here if you're looking for that. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger ($8.49) and the sonics burger ($9.49). The mushroom swiss burger is what you'd expect although the mushrooms are bigger pieces rather than the typical thin slices. For the sonics burger there is hot sauce but it was not spicy at all. It's one of the better burgers I've had in the greater Seattle area since they don't go crazy with the toppings. If I'm in the area and I'm craving a burger or something simple I'll make a stop here. read more

The telltale sign of a good local burger spot is its ambiance - no frills, no gimmicks, just a clear focus on quality and customer service. Rain City checks these boxes and their burgers prove it. I got to try the Sonics burger and Roosevelt special, both of which surprised me with the freshness of their ingredients. Both were very solid burgers, clearly made with attention to quality. They were a tad messy to eat - the sauce seemed to drip quite a bit and made the buns a little soggy - but were nonetheless delicious. The fries were also solid - perfectly crispy on the outside, nice and fluffy on the inside, with the right amount of saltiness, and no greasiness or oiliness whatsoever. The Rain City sauce I got with them had a little too much mayo flavor for my liking, though it is a matter of preference. The oreo shake was also good; it was initially too thick and chunky to drink with the straw, though this was easily remedied with a spoon. For the price point, the burgers are a great value as you get what you pay for. However, there were not as many fries as expected for $5 and the shake was a little pricey compared to other spots, but again, Rain City does not skimp on quality. read more
