I had a very pleasant experience with Rain City Plumbing. Their office was responsive when I contacted them, and I really appreciate that they were able to come out to see my condo to give me a free estimate. I contacted multiple other plumbers and they all charged $35-150 just to visit and give an estimate (they "waived" this fee if you chose to hire them, which I think is their strategy). Rain City Plumbing was able to come out and take a look at my shower quickly, and they gave me very clear and transparent estimates for how much it might cost. The two gentlemen who came by were uniformed, neat, and very polite and patient when explaining things to me. They were respectful of my home, and took off their shoes without me asking (when they needed to go further into a carpeted area to look at the back of my wall). They also followed up with me later to offer me a discount on the cost of parts. When I told them I was waiting to hear back from some of the other plumbers I had contacted, they were understanding and they actually recommended that I shop around and get quotes. I really appreciate that they were very willing to educate me as a new home owner, instead of trying to take advantage of me. While I didn't hire Rain City Plumbing to work on my job in the end, it was purely because I got a more competitive rate elsewhere. They came to replace indoor plumbing, replace the hot water tank, haul away the old one, and replace the kitchen sink drain line to the main sewer. Rain City is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. We received so many estimates for plumbing repairs and misinformation about what really needed to be done, and then Rain City came out and actually assessed the plumbing. Khlaeb and Phillip provided options with reasonable prices. They installed a pressure regulator valve, shut-off valve, and repipe in a few hours. I don't leave a lot of yelp reviews, so in order for me to do that I have to really have had a great experience. Rain City was able to get out quickly, work with my schedule, and ensure the job was done right. They even answered questions about my plumbing and warned me about some issues I already had previously confirmed by a home inspector. They were even able to find my water shutoff -- the home inspector wasn't able to find one! They were communicative, helpful, and relatively inexpensive. They were local and mindful. Company did not complete water line hookup I requested. I received a proposal for the work to hook up my home's water line connection to a new water meter in front of the house, I signed the contract and paid half down, $1.6K. The work began by a technician digging the ditch for the water line, shortly after the technician was let go from the company and no one else was assigned to my project. They gave me the run around as to the delay and mainly blamed it on the Water District and not being able to contact them to schedule the work, when I was able to contact them multiple times without issues. They eventually stopped responding to my inquiries and kept my money and left the ditch dug up in my front yard. I had to hire another company to complete the work and pay more than the remainder of the original contract with Rain City Plumbing. This company does not seem experience at completing water line connections. read more

An interior pipe broke recently and we were recommended to call Rain City. I was hoping they could come out that day seeing as we only have one bathroom. I called twice, both times they took all our information, and the second time they assured me someone would call in an hour. It's now Monday, three days later, and they have never bothered to call back. Not once. A courtesy call to let us know they were too busy would have been nice. Why is that so hard? Anyway, going with a different company who has worked very hard to make sure we know when they are coming (today) and if they will be delayed. read more

Spence and his crew did a great job at repiping our whole house's supply. We walked through to do the initial scoping; he explained everything carefully and in terms I understood. He made some good suggestions, including the addition of a hot-water recirculator, which was a huge quality-of-life upgrade for our house. Customer service was terrible- first they booked the wrong day from what they told me. Then the plumber was super unprofessional when he arrived. Dispatch stated that they would send someone in my error but then the plumber tried to charge based on " he drove so far to get here". Almost a hundred dollars higher than others for what he even said was a simple job. Last month we hired Rain City Plumbing to remove and replace a very old heavy cement double wash basin and all its old piping from our basement and removed, designed and reinstalled a new sump pump system due to the leakage of water in the basement. So far this design has been successful. Rain City was my third bid for this job. The reason that my sister and I decided to hire Rain City was because of Khaleb and his co-worker. Listening to their ideas, design, and calm review with honesty (because its easier to tell the truth rather than BS as the two prior bids did to up-sell their income) ..Khaleb was right on the same page as we were! We had to have our house re-piped and our hot water heater replaced. Rain City was the least expensive bid we got. They did a great job in just one day! They handled the permits and scheduled the inspector. The day after the inspection, they came back and patched the walls. Every one of the workers was polite, hard-working, and considerate. I live in a small condo and decided to replace my toilet as well as my kitchen sink. Rain City Plumbing was fantastic. They were very attentive to every small detail. They actually came out to the condo with a new sink, and discovered a very very tiny crack in the enamel. I might not have noticed if it they had not pointed it out. Rather than installing that sink, we rescheduled the install later with a different, new, perfect sink. They were always timely, and the new sink and toilet look gorgeous and work perfectly! Rain City Plumbing is a great company. They are very friendly and polite. They have done work for me on a few occasions. The first time my sewer line had broken and waste was flowing all over the crawl space. I have a old manufactured home and have been told by other people doing work or repairs that it is a nightmare. Some plumbers have actual refused service when they see where they need to crawl under. Jamie was very professional and nice. He didn't make any complaints about having to crawl into that area. With what he was doing I really felt for him. The job was done really fast. The quote was reasonable and there was no hiden fees. They guaranteed their work and cleaned everything up after. When my pipe in the kitchen was leaking I called Rain City again. I assured them they would not have to crawl under the house (thinking that after the sewer they wouldn't want to). Jamie said that it would be no problem if he did and he was happy to come out again. Not only did he fix the leak in the sink. He found another one under the bathroom that I had no idea about. If I could give Raincity 10 stars I would. I purchased an older home and decided to do a complete remodel. I had a few plumbing companies do work on my house and I can tell you that out of all of the Raincity was by far the best. Cheryl is very friendly and has great customer service. She really went above and beyond to make sure that everything I needed was done and done as quickly as possible. Raincity installed a second bathroom in my basement and it looks amazing. They even installed my compact Saniflo toilet with ease. If you want great customer service, a super fair price and top notch work then Raincity is the way to go. read more

I hired Rain City to install a new water heater, a pressure reducing valve, and a home run manifold system. They also replaced my kitchen drain lines and ran it through the basement wall instead of across the basement ceiling. Spence at Rain City who did the estimate and supervised the job was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and great to work with. Antonio who performed most of the work was amazing. The plumbing is very tidy, which isn;t always easy in a 1920s house with non-standard dimensions. When I am ready for my next project, I am definitely hiring Rain City again. read more

Yikes. Not a good review, and I was hoping to avoid it. 10/6/15 - Rain City contacts me after I submit a Porch.com request for a plumber. 10/12/15 - Plumber performs minor repair 1/13/16 - Finally get invoice for repair 2/18/16 - We notice another issue with the garbage disposal drainage that seems to have been caused by the repair. The repair also used a rigid pipe instead of a hose so we notice the garbage disposal can no longer be detached to inspect/clean without taking apart the piping. We notify Rain City and they agree to send someone out to fix it the next week and will keep in touch to pick a day. It's not urgent as we are mostly not in the unit, not cooking, and the kitchen sink is not being used much. 3/17/16 - Haven't heard from Rain City. The sink is seeing more use and the leak is becoming an issue. We kindly email Rain City to please pick a day to come out at their earliest convenience. 3/28/16 - No response to previous email. We ask again, this time threatening a harsh review if they don't get back to us. The leak is becoming more of an issue. Rain City replies quickly and suggests a couple times. We agree on Tuesday the 5th some time after noon. 4/5/16 - Rain City no-showed. We waited in unit from noon to 4 today. They rescheduled for the next day. 4/6/16 - Rain City no-showed again and didn't call. We're done here. I don't typically give harsh reviews, but the Rain City dispatcher seems very disorganized and there were multiple no-shows which have been a big inconvenience. Also, the initial plumber seemed very young and inexperienced - not a knock against him necessarily, but if a mistake is made as it was in this situation I expect Rain City to quickly be able to cover and fix that up, and the weren't able to. Judging by the other reviews here, our experience may be atypically bad, so just make sure you get firm commitments when scheduling with them (rather than "sometime after noon") and be flexible, and make sure to critically check the repair job yourself when the plumber is finished. read more

I hired Rain City Plumbing for a recent bathroom remodel. They were highly responsive from the very beginning and had a fair bid compared to other plumbers in the area that I had gotten a quote from. During the project, 2 plumbers came to my house and they were both super professional. I feel inclined to write a review since Rain City finished the project on the day they had quoted me - this was SO refreshing since other home projects I have had in the past always seem to drag out, BUT not this time! After purchasing my 1939 house in Beacon Hill, I learned the hard way that the inspector missed the galvanized plumbing on the inspection and most of the plumbing would have to be replaced. I hired Rain City to replace all the galvanized with PEX as well as install a tankless water heater and run natural gas to the kitchen, fireplace, and furnace room. Spence, one of the owners, came out quickly to give and estimate and ended up walking me through the whole house, offering several solutions (beyond plumbing) to the issues I was facing while renovating an old house. At one point, HVAC and electric subcontractors were blocked by a bit of plumbing and although I wasn't on the schedule, Spence sent a guy out same day to unblock the other guys. When it came to the install, they did a phenomenal job with both the PEX and the natural gas, getting it done faster than they estimated and exactly at the price they quoted. Also, Antonio is THE MAN. Hands-down the most friendly and quality-minded guy who has worked on my home throughout the entire process. OK, five solid stars for this company. Jaime and Spence own Rain City. Spence came out in a timely fashion and I had a bid to replumb my little thousand square foot home in no time. When I changed my mind about what type of material I wanted for the repipe I thought they might run away. Instead of doing so they simply said no problem, you still need help and redid the bid for me accordingly. They have done exactly as they said they would every step of the way. Jaime, the other owner, actually did the job himself w 2 very nice helpers. He seemed to care about his trade and it's perfection very much so. The process was seamless. They pulled my hot water heater out and replumbed it w longer temporary lines so they could work and I could be here w hot water every evening. I have never found getting good help from the trades here in Seattle to be easy. Fifteen years I have been waiting for somebody to come along and do this job. Now it's done and I'm thrilled. I heard of them bc they impressed somebody I knew with their bidding process. Hate to say it but they probably should have picked this company.
