They must have spotted us as tourists because they went above and beyond, offering us amazing recommendations for beaches and waterfalls to explore on the island. Their local knowledge made our trip even more special. Now, let's talk about the coffee--hands down the best I had during my entire stay! The menu was a bit overwhelming with so many options, but they helped walk me through. The cozy atmosphere combined with the welcoming staff made it more than just a coffee stop; it was an experience. I also had a lox bagel that surprised me at first with its presentation (not the typical lox bagel presentation), then its taste (delicious!). Stopped in on a whim, and I'm glad I did! From the outside, this place looks unassuming, but the inside was a fun surprise. Even though it was busy, we were greeted with lots of energy. For those who remember that wonderful TV sitcom, Cheers, visiting Rainbeau Jo's offers the same vibes of warmth, welcome and comfort. My wife and I visit each year when we return to Kauai during the cold winters in CT. As soon as we step in the door, Beau's greeting reminds us we're home again. The breakfast sandwiches are great, with bagels made by a local baker. I always enjoy the "Lox It Up" schmear with fresh, locally grown tomato on an everything bagel. Their freshly made hot and cold coffee offerings, prepared lovingly by Jo, are delicious. Most recently I had the iced mocha. It was superb. We stay in Kauai's Poipu area, but whenever our travels bring us into Lihue, Rainbeau Jo's is always a part of our travel delights. This place immediately makes you smile and fall in love with your day. The staff is very friendly, allows you to take your time when ordering and explains everything on the entire menu. There is parking behind the coffee shop and they even have a cute online order window so you don't have to go inside if you are in a rush and ordered online. There is an outdoor patio with some tables and chairs, but I think the inside is where it's at! Such beautiful decor with different types of comfortable seating areas. There is an area with a large build in booth seat and barstool seats that overlook the street out the window, and even tables with regular chairs if you are there to WFM (work from home). This whole place has such a positive and happy vibe that makes you feel like you're one of a kind. The high energy staff just adds to the great food and drinks they offer. You could instantly feel the lively atmosphere he created in the store. Few people bring that kind of energy, and it really made the experience special. Once I entered the door I was welcomed with the warmest aloha! The gentleman taking orders and greeting customers is TOP NOTCH! He went over and beyond to make sure customers knew what the wait time, passed menus through the line all well taking orders and greeting the next customer. He's entertaining to me I've been a customer since they opened their truck when my brother was security in the parking lot years ago (Lihue industrial). I'm so happy they are here and we have another place to have breakfast. They are busy but worth the wait. My girls have dance class down the road so I stopped in on Saturday. I order a bunch of for us to try. The lox it up bagel for my husband, strawberry cream cheese bagel for my girls, banana muffin and a brahvocado bagel for us to share. I was tiring of the heavy local breakfasts we were consuming on our trip. This was bookmarked so we decided to try this instead. Boy, am I glad we did. The moment we walked in, we were greeted so warmly by the staff, especially the guy manning the register. He was very engaging with every single customer. This guy can multitask!!! He knew what my hubby decided on by the time it was my turn to order! And this was while he was helping other customers and engaging in other conversations! As soon as he knew we were visiting and only had eating and vegging out by the pool/beach on the agenda since we've been to Kauai multiple times, he wrote down a suggested site seeing spot. He really needs to teach a class on customer service. Other companies can learn from him! The cafe itself is super cute. Love the tropical vibes. Very Instagram-able. I ordered an everything bagel with pesto cream cheese and sprouts and an iced decaf vanilla latte with oat milk. Hubby ordered the Berry Nice smoothie and a blueberry scone. Everything was yummy! I inhaled my bagel and wished I ordered a bigger sized latte. When we were leaving, he called us by the nickname he gave us and thanked us for coming. There was a long line and he was working his magic with those customers. 10/10 recommend. I wish we had places like this back home.
