A random visit to this coffee shop changed my life. I came in because I saw online that they had vegan options. I informed the cashier of my allergy and he explained the various vegan options and helped me decide which to choose. He was also extremely kind and asked me what I was doing in Kaua'i. I told him I planned to hike, he wrote down multiple hiking trails that he recommended. I ended up going on one, and it was hands down the best hike I've ever been on. In addition, my food and beverage came out in under 5 min. The smoothie and bagel was clearly fresh and organic, and the tea was clearly actually brewed rather than a mix. I'm not much of a Yelp reviewer, but I feel the need to contribute to Rainbeau Jo's 5 star rating simply because I had such a positive experience. Yes, the line was long and they are currently short staffed; however, the owner's warmth, positive energy, and kindness alone was enough to make the visit well worth it. The owner worked the register and interacted with every customer that walked through the door. Constantly thanked everyone for their patience and guided them through the menu. All the staff were also very friendly and looked genuinely happy to be there. The shop itself is so cute and fun, I appreciate all the little touches they made to make it such a lively environment! Now, even though their matcha latte wasn't on the menu this time, luckily, the owner was kind enough to let me order it, and it was exceptional. They use real, high quality matcha powder (none of the fake sugary stuff), and I was able to adjust the sweetness and add flavoring to it! I went ahead and added macadamia nut flavoring to mine and asked for it to be less sweet so I could still taste the matcha. It was creamy, balanced, and just perfect. I also tried their Polihale Stinger bagel special, and that was also soooo delicious! I could go on and on.. I visited Rainbeau Jo's for the first time on my last day on the island, and it was the perfect last stop before my flight home. We spontaneously stumbled upon Rainbeau Jo's and almost thought it was closed--but when we walked in, it was like a ray of sunshine. We had the best time chatting with Beau. Beau the owner and his wife Jo were truly wonderful. I'm honestly very thankful for their kindness and truthfulness about how nothing there is gluten free, however they went above and beyond when I asked them to just do a lox on tomato. They gave me 6 pieces of tomato with the little dollops of homemade lox cream cheese with sprouts. He even gave me a discount because I didn't get a bagel, when gluten free usually gets upcharged. Have you ever walked into a place of business and immediately felt comfortable and as if you have been there a thousand times and the staff is your friend? That's how Rainbeau Jo's is! This place immediately makes you smile and fall in love with your day. The staff is very friendly, allows you to take your time when ordering and explains everything on the entire menu. There is parking behind the coffee shop and they even have a cute online order window so you don't have to go inside if you are in a rush and ordered online. There is an outdoor patio with some tables and chairs, but I think the inside is where it's at! Such beautiful decor with different types of comfortable seating areas. There is an area with a large build in booth seat and barstool seats that overlook the street out the window, and even tables with regular chairs if you are there to WFM (work from home). This whole place has such a positive and happy vibe that makes you feel like you're one of a kind. The high energy staff just adds to the great food and drinks they offer.
