I came in last night and had the pleasure of working closely with Nick to alter a dress. Being that the dress was made from terrible material, he informed me that he was able to do the job, but could run into the risk of it not lookin' as great. He then asked how much I paid for the dress and insisted I don't spend more to fix something than what I originally spent. Needless to say, he was not there to take advantage of his customers, but service them in the most efficient way possible. Where do I start? I was recommended to come here to have a flower girl dress hemmed. I called and spoke to Nick on the phone who told me the specific time to come in and see the seamstress. My daughter and I came in on a Monday morning. The seamstress was not there but he said not to worry he could take care of it. I should of headed for the door but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He told us to head to bathroom (unclean) to put on the dress. I showed him a picture of how the tiered dress is suppose to look. He did not pin it and said he had written down the measurements and it will be ready in 3 days. Cost would be $45. We texted back and forth about the progress until Friday when he mentioned that hemming the dress was harder than he thought. Worried, I came in Friday morning to pick up the dress. Holding my little one, I had to maneuver around his big dog, which lingers in the entrance, so I couldn't really take a good look at the dress as he handed it to me. I arrived home and had my daughter try on the dress. OMG He butchered the dress. Here are a few photos of the first tier the rest are even worse. I texted him the photos and he said "I'm sorry I rushed my seamstress so that's why it looks like that." He said I could bring the dress back in to be fixed. But they had taken so much off the dress it is unfixable. Plus, this is not at all what we talked about. The dress was cut unevenly and not close to the same length. The under layer being longer than the top layer. I told him that I would like my money back. I came in Saturday and Nick gave me my money back for the alterations. I told him that I'm going to have to buy a new dress. He said yes if you want it like the picture. In order to get a new dress (which cost $160.00) I would have to go through his insurance. He asked to try and fix the dress, but I didn't feel comfortable handing it over until I had a new dress in hand. I have texted, called and emailed and he will not respond. So at this point I had to give up with the idea of getting reimbursed. This is for my brothers wedding so I went ahead and bought a new dress as a back up. The only positive aspect of the whole situation was that he mistakenly credited me an additional $45. I asked to have the credit removed, but he said he would take it out the insurance claim for the dress total. Since then I found another seamstress that thinks she can fixed the original dress (though, it will cost me $75) and will be a lot shorter then we wanted. At this point I can't imagine giving Rainbow Cleaners any more of my business. Good luck if you take yours here. read more

Update : The owner reached out to fix the zipper and apologize -although I don't want to wait for the repair again - the gesture was nice and you can trust they stand by their work. This review is only for zippers. I got a zipper replaced, took almost two weeks to get back due to the wait while they ordered the zipper. And then the zipper broke within two weeks. I know they didn't make the zipper and I'm sure the alterations and cleaning is great quality. But request a higher quality zipper because you'll have to wait either way. read more

Went in on a Tuesday at around 12 to get get my jeans hemmed and they were done by Wednesday at 4! I asked to get my jeans shortened from a 32 to a 30. But when i got home and compared them to some other jeans I own, I thought that they were longer than they should be. I went back to the store to confront the man about the problem but he assured me that they were 30. He even took the time to pull out his tape measurer and then showed me that it was exactly 30. He then told me that these jeans were most likely not washed (which they were not). He was very polite, respectful, and professional even when I questioned his integrity which is why I gave 5 stars. read more

My go-to place for dry cleaning and hemming. I normally get things hemmed that I can't do myself, so delicate fabrics, lace, jackets, and sleeves. They are very quick and do a fabulous job, I have never been unsatisfied with their work or their lead time (never been more than 5 days). The dog out front is huge, but really friendly. One thing they don't have which would be super helpful is a place to change for things like dresses. If I need a dress hemmed I usually get a friend to help me pin it while I am wearing it, so that afterwards I could I bring it to the shop with the pins still in place. It would be wonderful if they had an area where I could do that in shop so they could be the ones to do the pinning. It's a big ask for such a tiny shop, but something to keep in mind if they ever expand to a bigger location! read more

I love this place!! I brought THREE sheep skin area rugs here to be cleaned. These rugs were given to me by my grandma, who had them out in high-traffic areas in her house...a house where she smoked a pack of cigerettes a day. The rugs were beaten up and smelled so gross, but they were beautiful and soft, and I really wanted to save them. I brought them to Rainbow Cleaners, and the guy here was not only incredibly friendly and reassuring about the rugs, but they did an INCREDIBLE job on the rugs. They look and smell better than new! OK, first let me say that i don't normally notice a difference in dry cleaners. I've changed dry cleaners every 6 months or so mainly because they go out of business. However i did notice that these clothes were much cleaner. No ring around the collar and they got some serious stains out of ties w/o ruining them. Patch a hole in my sweater for free. Plus the 25% discount for yelpers. Awesome. They guy is super helpful and his dog is really friendly. I a looking forward to having a dependable dry cleaners. I have visited this place twice now and, to be perfectly honest, I was not impressed. At the end of September, I was heading out on a business trip and realized that I needed my coat cleaned and returned within 24hrs. Per the Rainbow website, they indicated that they can turnaround items by 5pm if dropped off by 9:30am (from memory) that morning. At 9am, I stopped by and was told he could not do it due to a mechanical issue... The owner was nice enough to refer me to another dry-cleaner that could do it but, unfortunately, I did not have time to do so. So, it was a bummer -- it would knock a 5-star down to a 4-star just due to the inconvenience... However, the reason I am giving them 3-stars is largely based on my second visit. In mid October, I was preparing to go to a wedding and needed 2 shirts cleaned by that weekend. I included 2x slacks and 2x sports coats as well. They did a good job on the sport coats and the black collared shirt. I have not yet needed the slacks, so I cannot comment... ...however, the white shirt was in TERRIBLE condition. There were large red stains on the "cleaned" and pressed shirt. There is a good chance that the stains were on the shirt when I brought them in but I am shocked that it wasn't properly cleaned or that I was not informed that the stains could not be removed. Not an expert on dry-cleaners and what they can and cannot accomplish however I would think they'd tell me they were unable to remove large and noticeable stains... and now I have to bleach the shirt. *************************************************************** Update... the customer service at Rainbow service is top-notched. I was contacted based on my review and they made amends. I have since used their service and have been quite pleased with the work after a quick glance. (Have not used the suit again since I had it cleaned, so a closer inspection will be made at this time. I have upgraded their rating from 3- to 4-stars. read more

After getting sick of my other dry cleaners (you can read my Expert Dry Cleaners review for that story), I decided to yelp something else, and I found this local spot. Was this always here? Because I went to that Behind the Wheel driving school, next door, years back and never remembered noticing this. Anyways, I brought a suit and the owner/manager was very chill. He told me how much it would cost, that it would be ready the next day after 5pm and then handed me a ticket. I mentioned yelp and got my 25% adjustment. Easy. The next day I came back and both my suit jacket and pants were clean and present for pickup (you'd be surprised that clothing could go missing, but again, you can read my Expert Dry Cleaners review for that one). I got my 25% adjustment and paid. Easy. I'll continue to come back and hopefully service is just as consistent. This might be my dry cleaners from now on. Also, I asked him if he could clean everything from ties to scarves and he said "We clean EVERYTHING. If your girl friend is dirty I'll clean her too." A dirty joke! YESSSS!! I came here because of the great yelp reviews and it's close to my job but.. I went to try and get my bathing suit taken in and the man at the counter completely dismissed me. He was on the phone when he asked me what I needed done and the time frame in which I needed it back. I told him and all he said was "No. I can't do it." He didn't even try to accommodate me or ask if I could extend the deadline. Granted it was a bathing suit so it's not like I needed it urgently. I just moved to the South Bay area so I'm testing out 4 or 5 dry cleaners. Rainbow cleaners is one of them due to their proximity to me and their rating on Yelp. The cleaner is located on aviation and can be easily missed. I overshot it the first time and had to park in the parking lot of the smoke shop next door and walk over (the two establishments parking areas are not connected). The owner (at least I think he's the owner) is fairly friendly and allowed me to use the 20% off discount even though i didn't mention it when I brought my clothes in. There's also a very friendly dog, Maverick, that hangs out there. I was disappointed with the fact that my clothes had dog hair in it when I received it. Man alive, I am so satisfied with Rainbow Cleaners. I've dropped several items off with them to get them cleaned and they always come back spic and span. The only exception was a blood stain I allowed to set too much, but even that was cleaned twice (for free) to try and get as much of it out as possible. Quick turnaround, too. I started coming here because it's right on my way to and from work, but I'm going to continue because I'm very satisfied with the service thus far. Had a really nice, albeit brief, experience here. I needed a quick alteration on a bridesmaid dress and forgot about it until the day before my flight. Nick did everything he could to keep the process cheap and fast, and he didn't even give me the judge-y eyes that I usually see from non-procrastinators.
