I come here for the dim sum and they do not disappoint! The prices are not overpriced and the service is great! They are attentive and quick. I love that I don't have to go all they way to Chinatown for dim sum, and this is down the street from my house. They usually have a wait if you go earlier in the day. Luckily, I like to sleep in and have always shown up after 1 pm or later, and there's no wait. I like to come with 4 or more ppl so we can have a large variety of dishes. I didn't take photos of every dish. But we always order the staples: fried shrimp balls, xo shrimp noodles, chicken feet in black bean sauces, tripe in satay sauce, chicken and shrimp siu mai, chives and shrimp dumpling, turnip cake, shrimp dumpling (har gow) and so much more! read more

The food here is consistently amazing. Always tasty. We've had so many trips here including our family after Christmas get together where lobster, fried whole fish, kicked up cauliflower with bits of tasty shredded pork, S&P pork chop, Peking duck (with fluffy and fresh bao), dim sum, HK style chowmein, Honey walnut shrimp, etc...the list goes on. Decided to check out Rainbow Kitchen even after all the reviews warning about service. Everyone was on point about their experience. We went for lunch on a Monday afternoon and luckily there was no wait. We were seated promptly but had to flag someone for a menu after waiting for several minutes with no acknowledgement from anyone. We ordered typical dishes - beef pan fried noodle, spicy/salt pork chops, siomai, har gaw, stuffed shrimp. Everything was tasty. We tried the roast pork which was good but wish it was warmer temperature wise and the skin was crispier. Overall the meal itself was great but literally only 1 person said 2 words the entire time to say "it's hot". Had the service been more welcoming, the place would have easily gotten 4 stars instead of 3. read more

Rainbow Kitchen is one of my new go-to places in LV! The dim sum was SO fresh and SO good. Loved that they have items I haven't seen elsewhere like Lobster dumplings and the Scallop with XO sauce dumpling (must have!!) I always judge a place by their pan fried chive dumpling and it came out SO fresh and juicy. Even the left overs were still juicy when I reheated at home! The durian pastry is a MUST HAVE and I don't even like durian. The bbq pork pastry is one of the BEST I've ever had. It came out so hot and fresh. I could've ate an order to myself. Pricing is super reasonable and they also have so many other dishes like hainan chicken, fried rice, duck, lobster, etc. Dim sum is also served all day. My party of 3 was able to be seated immediately, but we weren't approached by a waiter until I waved one down 20 minutes later. Waiters and servers all had really bad attitudes. The high chair they gave us to use was filthy. The plates they served food on were chipped. We were told that the roast duck and rice would take a while so I cancelled it off of our order and ordered just a side of steamed rice for my son instead. The rice never came out. When we asked for the bill, the waiter handed it to me, basically shoving it in my face with to-go boxes we didn't ask for. After paying, they brought out the roasted duck & rice that I had cancelled. While looking over the bill to make sure it was correct, I noticed that they charge a $1 disinfecting fee... as if disinfecting should be an option or order. Staff has very poor organization & communication skills both with the guests & with each other. The food was just okay so it's definitely not worth going back for. It's a shame, but I still have yet to be impressed with any dim sum place I've tried in Las Vegas. To Rainbow Kitchen's credit, they've been the best one yet. Their dim sum is fresh, and the seafood they use isn't too fishy like some places tend to get. They have all the dim sum staples, as well as unique items such as Lobster or Truffle Shrimp dumplings. Unfortunately, portions run small. Pricing here makes absolutely no sense. The Walnut Shrimp costs as much as the Chicken Feet. A plate of Salt & Pepper Squid, despite substantially more food, costs only a few dollars more than their Shrimp and Chive Dumplings which only comes with 3 dumplings. Meanwhile, the Shrimp-only Dumplings, which in theory has higher cost to the restaurant, actually comes with one more dumpling (4 total) despite being the same price point as the Shrimp and Chive Dumplings. I could keep going. Maybe value-hunting the menu is an endearing aspect for the older Asian population that dominated the clientele here when I visited? Regardless of their pricing shenanigans, expect somewhere in the $20s per person depending on what you order, which is pretty standard nowadays. All in all, this will be the place I recommend if someone is desperately craving dim sum in Vegas, but I'm still looking for a go-to. An important note: Their windows are not tinted. I came here with the outside being in the 50Fs, but was still burning up sitting window-side. I was seated along their south-facing windows, and despite their curtains down, the heat from the sun was noticeably radiating through and making it feel like 80F. While not often, I have these strong cravings for good dim sum. I love living in the Enterprise area, but it's a good 20 minute drive to get to the Chinatown neighborhood. However, my most recent discovery was a restaurant that is less than 10 minutes away. Picture this - I just finished working out and was starving. I had this craving for dim sum but didn't feel like driving too far. Jumping onto Yelp, I found Rainbow Kitchen. As soon as I entered, I knew I found a good one as the place was packed and filled with lively patrons. I sat down and ordered some usual items: Shrimp and chive dumplings - simple and classic. Roast pork - love the moist meat with the crispy skin to add different textures. It came with pickled vegetables to help cut through the oil. Egg tart - love this flaky and subtly sweet dessert. Pan fried noodles in soy sauce - a dry noodle dish with just bean sprouts as vegetables, I love how these noodles are thinner than your typical chow mein yet not so thin to be crunchy. It's simple but the reason I keep coming back. The service was quick even though it was clearly rush hour. Just another reason why I keep coming back for more. read more

First time eating at this place. I wish I had read the reviews prior to coming here. I would give this place zero stars. The service was horrible, and that's going by dim sum restaurant standards. We weren't expecting Michelin star service, but one of the servers was just rude. The food was mid and definitely not worth the wait. In short, I would absolutely recommend choosing to eat at another Chinese restaurant. FOOD: 6/10 The salt and pepper pork chops was the only thing tasty. Not too oily and not too salty. The beef chow fun dry was a bit bland and there were thick clumps of noodles. The cooks could have spent a minute to separate the noodles better. Not much flavor to this dish. Reminds me of China A Go Go. The shrimp and chicken siu mai was sweet. We've been eating dim sum for over twenty years and never had sweet siu mai. Cook grabbed the sugar instead of the MSG? The har cau was mid. Thick chunks of shrimp but not much flavor. The rice? We must've caught the workers mid-harvest because we had to ask for it twice after initially ordering it and the steamed rice came last when we were nearly finished with the meal. SERVICE: 1/10 The initial server disappeared and we had to flag her down on her way to helping the table next to us. She was inattentive was unable or unwilling to answer our questions. Chalk it up to a lack of communication skills or inability to understand English. We noticed that the Asina-looking customers received better service. If they only knew that I am part Chinese I think the service would have been better. Never once did they come to refill our tea and water. Never once did they come to check in to see if we received all of our order. My wife had to stop another waitress and ask for the rice we ordered. This rude lady said "No" and walked away. That was a what-the-hell moment and a first. Only after we had voiced our concerns did another waitress and waiter bring our order. My wife asked a waitress twice for a dish for her chili oil and was just ignored by the same rude waitress. Not that the waitress didn't hear my wife's request. The waitress looked at my wife, acknowledged her request and just ignored her and walked away. OVERALL: 3/10 If not for the salt and pepper pork chops, this place would receive a zero out of ten. Rainbow kitchen is located in a nice quiet plaza! The food is authentic and delicious- we got the hot and sour soup, mongolian beef, szechuan style pork, and half roasted duck. Came in on new years eve and got seated right away! It looks like it was very popular and busy with takeout orders, so we waited a little over an hour to get our first batch of food orders. We would have had to wait longer for the panfried noodles so we canceled them after the second hour since we had to head out, but would have probably been worth the wait if we had time! Their staff is great and friendly and quickly welcomed us as we entered. They made sure we were able to sit where we felt most comfortable. An abundance of options and all day Dum Sum!!! No need to travel to Chinatown aka Spring Mountain for delicious Dim Sum. The entrees are well portioned and flavorful. Look no further than the roast duck, and you've found yourself a Cantonese gem here. You either love it or you don't, and if you do, you appreciate when you finally find a place that does it right. Succulent, meaty, crispy skin. Perfection. I'd been here once for takeout and the duck sold me. Next time I came for dinner and left somewhat disappointed. I wasn't sure if this was a hit or miss type place, depending on what you order. Tried a 3rd time for lunch, this was going to be the make or break tie breaker. To my delight, they came thru in flying colors. Not only was the duck superb once again, but we tried the dim sum and although only a few dishes, we were very impressed. Dumplings had very thin, masterfully supple skin (shrimp and Alaskan king crab). And the shrimp stuffed bell pepper was also excellent, with a nice thick cut of pepper, cooked just past raw, so not too soggy with bold flavor. Service of this particular male server borders on rude, but upon further evaluation, there's some sensitivity at the heart of it. So it appears we've found another go to Cantonese restaurant. We watched in extreme disappointment as one by one every single person that was sat after us had their order taken before us and when we tried to usher a server over, they would look at us in annoyance and disgust or say "another server will be with you shortly". Fed up, I found the owner and let him know my concerns. He finally took our order with an extremely irritated attitude. After an hour wait and watching every person who arrived after us receive their food, we finally were served. Been meaning to try this spot out for a while since it's close by and I love Chinese food served family style on the round tables. The food did not disappoint, everything was flavorful but nothing was too salty. The menu give you a huge selection of each protein and if you ask the waiters for their recommendation for a particular protein, usually they recommend something that's particularly good/that they make well if you aren't afraid of trying new things! My family and I had a taste for dim sum today. We normally go to Spring Mountain but today we wanted to try something different. Rainbow kitchen definitely satisfied our Dim sum craving and we were pleased with the level of service and attention. The only disappointment we faced was that they didn't have the carts. That's always been part of the experience for us. The food was very satisfying and fresh tasting that we all decided we would definitely return and try more of their offerings. It's a great place for LARGE FAMILY GATHERINGS, since they have a variety of large tables. Rainbow Kitchen offers a Lunch Menu (Dim-Sum) and a Dinner Menu (Chinese serving portions of food with White Rice). Both are great and their dinner is catered towards small gatherings. Prices are reasonable, and the service is usually quick. Overall, whether you're dining in or grabbing a takeout dish, Rainbow Kitchen is the spot. This review is for my experience back in summer 2022. I had met up with another friend here but due to limited time, I came here and ordered to go. Since I was short on time, I made sure I came here prior to opening. At 11am, I put in my order. Ordered some usual dim sum favorites such as: Steamed Chicken and Ginger bun Turnip Cake Tripe 3 orders of Siu Mai Crispy roasted pork with Rice Baked BBQ bun Baked coconut bun Egg custard Deep fried Taro dumplings Steamed rice rolls with shrimp My order was $100 or so. Ordered with the gentleman with the suit who opened the store. I inquired about my order 45 minutes later. He said they were still working on it. So at 12pm when my friend's table is almost done with their meals, my order is still not ready. Keep in mind, I was the first person and there were already customers who had left while eating at the table. An hour and 15 minutes later, I finally got my order. But what's ashamed of this place is their buns were incredibly small. I've been to lots of dim sum places and cannot believe at how they're ripping off people here with the size of the dim sum. The other dim sum were just okay, I gave mine order away and ate something else for lunch. Sure, some of these comments are here for venting but I am as objective as they come. The restaurant has a pretty decent sized dining room but it was so packed it looked very small and it got pretty noisy in there. The menu had a pretty good selection of dishes (noodles, seafood, pork, beef , chicken, vegetarian, and dim sum). I ordered both dim sum and regular entrees. My favorite item was the salt and pepper pork chops - they were crispy and a little fatty - in a good way of course. The roast duck was also very good. Tender with nice, crispy skin. Same with the crispy pork belly. The service was friendly but not really there per se. I really needed something to drink other than tea (we did not even get water). It was the only Asian place in neighborhood that stated to be open until midnight, but i have a feeling they are closing at 10 pm because we were rushed a little bit. As soon as we good our food we got check too. Weird?! We wanted to order some appetizers (potstickers, chicken wings ) but they didn't have, I Mean they had on menu but didn't have to order. This was little disappointing coz we always order potstickers. We order shrimp fried rice and wonton soup, shrimp fried rice was very tasty you could literally eat just rice. It tasted like it was cooked with some grilled meat and then fried to the perfect point. Really the best fried rice I ever had. Wonton soup was nothing special, almost blunt and no authentic taste, but it was edible. Maybe I would sound too harsh but it tasted like noodle soup from the box. Interior is nice and it's very spacious, we sat at booth but there are couple rounded tables. Also menu is very rich with a big choice of vegan and vegetarian dishes. As a half Chinese girl, I am very picky about going to Chinese restaurants. It was my very first time going to a Chinese restaurant in Las Vegas/surrounding areas. Visiting Las Vegas, and now living in Las Vegas, I just never went. I didn't need to, because I'm from the San Francisco, Bay Area. LOL I looked really hard to find something decent that I may like for Chinese New Year 2022. My preference: Cantonese Cuisine, not too expensive, the place looks nice, and good reviews. I knew exactly what to order, and our food came really quick. Wonton soup, Buddha's Delight, Beef Chow Fun (dry specifically,) Peking Duck (A must!) & Steamed Sea Bass. Really good portions & we got to take some home for left overs. Everything hit the spot for me, took me back to my childhood, and ESPECIALLY my favorite Beef chow Fun & Peking Duck. The place is a nice size. They have lazy Susie tables & booths. We sat at one of the booths, since it was just me & my husband. They also have LIVE seafood tanks. Last, but not least, they told me that they do have Yem Cha days. (Dim Sum) I FOR SURE I am coming back for that!!!! They have stole my heart & I am now a fan.
