    Live steamed fish
    Susan K.

I didn't know they had live fish. The fish was steamed perfectly and was delicious. I love Lotus root; it was crunchy and delicious. The restaurant purchases chicken from a "live Poultry place," so the chicken meat was firm and delicious. Service was great. I recommend this restaurant and will go back there soon.

    Gizzard- really good

Majority of Chinese restaurants in town are HK style. This one is more authentic from Hunan Province. More Spicy food options. Recommended their chicken gizzards, intestines and hundred year egg mixed with eggplant. Also AC in this plaza seems weak. It might be hot to dine in for the summer time.

    Griddle Cooked Chicken

Incredible food! Hidden gem buried in a shopping complex. Love the spices and flavor. Griddle Cooked Chicken and Sauteed Beef were both awesome. Service was decent, though some translation issues due to staff being Chinese. However, the food was really authentic and fresh. We ordered "normal spicy" and it was plenty hot enough for use, flavorful without being too much. I'm sure they toned it down for our western tastebuds, but if you want they'll turn the heat up even more. Definitely will try again.

A terrific choice in Chinatown for groups with a mix of spice preferences. We loved that the low-heat dishes were packed with flavor. The beef with celery was a delightful surprise to me because a simple dish had so much to say. We liked every single dish on the table. Reasonable prices and family ambience. What's not to love?

Winter melon soup. Not bad but ain't great either

While the flavors is hunan, the portions are rather small and quality of ingredients I wish was better. I grew up on winter melon soup full of pork rib and plenty of flavor. In this soup I got 5 minuscule pork bone. Wife fried rice was full of grease and had 5 little tiny shrimp without any taste.

    Fish tofu soup

Small but homey Chinese restaurant serving up authentic and delicious dishes. I had my eye on the fish tofu soup before coming and it didn't disappoint. It is a gigantic portion good enough for 3-4 people to share. The fish is fresh and the meat is tender falling right off the big bones. Be careful though, there are a lot of small bones and it is an entire fish so there is a lot of meat to eat through. The broth is milky and rich. Lots of silken tofu cubes inside. It's not fishy cause of the ginger and seasoning they use. I also had the sizzling stir fry cumin lamb. Nice thin slices of lamb sautéed with onions, red peppers and jalapeños/green peppers. Very flavorful and a big portion. My colleague's beef fried rice was a bit disappointing. Not a lot of beef, hardened rice and very oily. Taste was decent but just American takeout restaurant quality. Staff was straightforward and efficient. Restaurant was clean though plates and utensils were outdated.

Authentic Hunan Chinese food approved by Hunan ppl, come if you got the guts to take on this challenge of hot and spiciness!

    Steamed Fish with Tofu

I was curious to try some authentic Hunan food and given all of the rave reviews, I figured Xiang Wei Xuan was the best option. I ordered the Steamed Fish with Tofu ($18.95) for delivery. When my food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find a family-size tin pan full of fish and tofu and yummy broth! I had leftovers for days :) Everything was well-cooked and flavorful. I wasn't super blown away, but to be fair, it seems the dishes that get the most praise here are more on the indulgent side, and steamed fish and tofu do not scream indulgent. Overall, I recommend this spot. The menu here is expansive so I think there is something for everyone!

Mom and pop comfort Chinese food without a crowd for a weekday lunch. Hits the spot if you miss 'LA 626 lunch special' type food. It isn't exactly the same but good enough with different variety. Flavor and texture was on point for non-spicy versions of dishes we got. Looking forward to trying their other spicy dishes next time. Mandarin speaking staff with limited English. Chinese speaking customers dining in. Hot tea and rice bowl per person is offered. They have forks, and use red cups for ice water. Menu pictures of dishes look larger than actual plate. Maybe expect 1/4 less than pic size? They offer dishes to be spicy but I wanted non-spicy. 1A.Peanuts with cucumber $4.95. - Impressed. Fresh. Garlic vinegar and light chili oil is mixed well. 2P. Mao's Braised Pork $15.95. - Less to no veggies compare to menu picture. Decent, comfort style. 3V. Sauteed Green Bean $12.95. - Great. Texture was on point. Price: Around $30 for 2ppl with 1 appetizers, 2 dishes. A bit pricey for what I'm use to but haven't found other options. I'm open to suggestions if anyone wants to message me their fav family comfort Chinese food joint in Vegas. They don't normally sell frozen dumplings but asked for 50pc bag and got them for $30. She had to make up a number or else we weren't willing to pay for the menu hot pieces that are like $1 per piece. Hoping next time I go that they'll be willing to lower it to prices I'm accustom to in LA 626.

Located in a smaller plaza across from 168 market. Looks like a hole in the wall, but the flavors here are amazing. Def worth a try. This restaurant offers many Chinese, particularly Hunan province delicacies and authentic dishes. Came with my family for dinner around 6 pm, not too packed yet. Ambiance is simple, booths and tables offered. Not the biggest establishment. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive! We got stir fried green beans, twice cooked pork, a steamed fish for the table, spicy dry pot pork intestines, and some other dishes not pictured. All were 10/10 would order again. Every entree comes with a big pot of rice for the table. Portions are big, you'll likely leave with yummy leftovers for the next day :-) prices are reasonable for the amount and flavors you get! Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

    Cucumber salad a must!

Food here is delicious and service is friendly, it's my favorite restaurant. I love the intestines and stinky tofu dry pot dish.

This the first restaurant that I knew that served beef with cilantro the taste is just very ordinary. I don't recommend this kind of menu.

No frills straight to the point delicious. Good menu. Quick service. I had a feeling this place was authentic but I knew after I saw an older Chinese gentleman smoking a cigarette while in Asian squat. No carts but I don't think that's a big deal. You see the staff working and cooking your food . Respect for many reasons but also becsuse I know it's so hot and we're in triple digit weather season. I came on a Friday at 5pm and it was empty. =( . Mainly to-go orders. Id absolutely come again.

Yum Cha is one of those local, no-frills dim sum spots that does exactly what you expect. There are…read moreno carts here--you order everything off a menu--but they have all the classic dim sum dishes you'd want, including siu mai, shrimp rice noodle rolls, sticky rice, crystal shrimp dumplings, and taro cakes. The food was solid and definitely hit the spot when we were craving dim sum. Everything tasted fresh, came out hot, and satisfied that classic dim sum craving. The only downside during our visit was that the air conditioning didn't seem to be keeping up. We were pretty warm throughout the meal and found ourselves sweating by the end. Not sure if it was just an off day, but it's the only thing that took away from an otherwise enjoyable experience.
